I'm a girl. I identify myself as a girl. I was born as a girl. In my 18 years of living I was always poked for doing "boyish" things: wearing suits, playing video-games, not using, refusing to wear pink make-up etc. It was hurtful as a child, expecially from my family. Why can't just everyone mind their own business?

Exactly the Same with me... Especially my color Taste I won't forget The day when I was Like 7 years old when my aunt Said To my mother why don't you Just make The room pink. I hate pink lol. My room was yellow these days but nowadays my Wall is blue, I Play Video Games, I played with lego in my childhood And Literally have nightmares Till today when I was forced to Play with Barbie... I Just wanted my lego And cars And whatever I had. Even my VTech Laptop was The "Boy Version" in blue And Till today I'm proud of That. Pink is awful. And I don't have to be lesbian or whatever to Like Boys stuff. I can't even really make friendships with Girls I always were in The Boy group at school. I only have two female friends. I lost my First Boyfriend a few years ago after He Said 2 years later That He is gay Like wtf... My heart was broken forever. I somehow started hating homosexuals And all Just because of him And Had a Lot of Stress And arguing with my graphicdesigner class cause of That. ... I feel sorry I Felt Bad That I never Had The power to get over it and my character got even worse... So since a half year I have my new Boyfriend who understood That all And He is fine with anyone And treat anyone Equal Like His mother told him... I wish I could be more Like him... And it happened, I got better. I still don't understand everything I Watched This Video And all And yeah... Maybe I'm on a right way.... I never Had Something against gays till That happened.... I also had to wear a pink dress when I've finished my school. I can't Walk on Highheels.... This was The worst day ever. I hate dresses I Just want My comfy pants And die😂🙈 sorry for That Long Message but I needed to Put my thoughts in order I guess... That is important

Of course I CAN Like Them maybe I think too controverse since That or my braincells are Just .. rubbish😂🙈... But lol 90% of my class aren't straight... And because we're a toxic mix of people This mostly is complicated for us all... I don't Know maybe I have made too Bad experiences with homosexuals but as I said. One of the most important details is that even while the father is wearing the tutu his shadow is still blue. Masculinity and femininity isn’t effected by such meaningless things. His dad will be a man no matter what because that’s who *he* is. Love this short so much.

This is nice, there’s nothing wrong with a male liking “girl” items and a female liking “boy” items. Honestly I think society is putting to much representation in so many things. “Oh this toy is a boy toy.” or “this toy is a girl toy.” Uh no it’s just a toy, same with clothing. it should be a comfort to know that the majority of women's clothing is designed by men. :) cis or otherwise, men are almost always directly involved in women's fashion and women's attire whether it be high fashion on the runway or walmart mini skirts. The contradiction in the world that men can design women's clothing and tell women how they can and cannot dress in society but yet aren't allowed to wear anything but pants and shirts for fear of social ostracization is one that needs to be broken and trashed. Men, cis or otherwise, wear what you wanna wear. Women fought HARD to do exactly that, it's time for men to earn the same rights :)

As a trans masculine person, I feel this kind of thing in my bones. I don’t conform to all of the gender role assumptions, but that doesn’t change who I am. People are complex and messy. It’s part of what makes humanity amazing. The fear of someone who’s different holds us back-the correct answer is to treat them with love and respect. Even if they’re feminine and even if they’re masculine. Even if they like girls or gay men. As a detrans person I learned that after nearly dying in hospital from gender affirmating surgery. Which means I sometimes also say a trans masculine person is a woman who hasn’t found out the hard way that biology will ALWAYS win out. We’re born one se x and will die that se x. You can grow a beard and pretend but you haven’t changed se x. Sometimes it takes nearly dying to fulfil the fantasy to realise the fantasy is no longer protecting us.

I'm a male. Always have been. I don't think I've ever had interest in feminine things. I've always liked the overly macho stuff and stereotypical boy things. However this is beautiful. Be who you want to be as long as you aren't hurting others. I think its okay to have an opinion on the subject but really were all the same. Hell, I've cross dressed. As a joke, but still. Being confident in your gender isn't being overly sensitive, its pushing the limits. The dad is a great example. I relate more to the father of course.

The great thing about being a man or a woman is that there is no "figuring out" involved. None needed. No soul-searching. No struggle. No journey to go on. Your sex is determined long before you are born, and it is constant throughout life. Once you understand and accept that you are the sex that you are born as and that you can't change it, you are freed from all the struggle. I think boys who play with girly items, like baby dolls, is actually awesome, because it means he will learn how to take care of a baby when he becomes a dad himself! Or girls who play sports will learn that it is more a physical thing than a bro thing! But be that as it may, masculine, feminine, or even being androgynous, I think children deserve to express how they want no matter what gender they are! Highly girly, normal girly, tomboyish girly, girly tomboy, soft tomboy, tomboy or even hardcore tomboy, any girl is beautiful! There ought to be these names for the boys, too?! 😊❤♂️♀️

What i want to say is that you should definitely show this to your brother because maybe if he realizes that he doesn't have to hide his femininity he will get more comfortable with it and also just feel better in general

I adore how the father, so masculine in stature and appearance, didn’t shame his son for what he wore. He was just.. in disbelief, and he just doesn’t know how to communicate with his son about it. But he wants to communicate, because he loves and cares for him, and so he puts on a tutu and the son’s perception of his hyper-masculine character changes. There’s nothing wrong with being hyper-masculine, but I feel the father’s appearance was what the son thinks himself should look like, instead of what he wants to look like.

There will never be a way to prevent homosexuality, and if you try to repress your child's sexuality (or whatever else is in their nature that isn't harmful) they'll either A grow tired and leave you at some point B will not have the courage to do so, living a life of misery and maybe ends themself. @@Jroobelucios It's not about unfair actually the reason why majority muslims are homophobic it's because they really scared of wrath of their god as their god says in the islam bible. There was once a first gay city called sodom got destroyed and the gay civillian there also got tortured by firing meteor from the sky and earthquake also is active. And surprisingly sodom is a real place it's located on under or adjacent to the shallow waters south of Al-Lisān, a former peninsula in the central part of the Dead Sea in Israel. Also muslim or even non-muslim student in america who don't wanna change their sexuality are being forced by their school to be gay or if they refuse to they'll no longer have any respect from anyone and even worse thing is they even will be called homophobic just because they refuse to be gay. Also one more thing... Why if somebody tried to burn the america flag it's called free speech but when somebody is tried to burn the LGBTQ+ flag it's called hate speech and discriminatory? So please tell me who is unfair now? The LGBT community or us as anti LGBT? I become anti LGBT it's not because I'm racist but it's the community itself was actually making anyone becomes homophobe by insulting/disrespect anyone who don't wanna contribute to LGBTQ+ so tell me who is the real villain now? I would prefer they lived a life where they could express themselves freely and later on choose who they want to be, than live the way people expect them to. I don't get why people can't understand this concept and instantly think that letting your children grow up and experiment with what they think they define as is wrong. As a trans male and a fem boy at the same time I can very much say that my shadow was never the color it was supposed to be. I think it’s more of a purple than anything. And you know what? That’s okay. I love my shadow because it shows me who I really am on the inside. Who I can be if I just trust myself enough to try. And I want to be that beautiful shade of purple that I see. Sometimes it isn’t always the same. Sometimes it’s a violet. Sometimes it’s indigo. It fluctuates and changes with my moods and interests as I grow. People in our lives are fleeting. Interpersonal relationships are complicated and messy, and no one is ever going to like every single thing that you do. But your shadow is the deepest, purest part of who you are. And even though that may change and alter itself, it will never leave your side. 💜

Hi Scott, there are no words to describe how grateful I am to see a dad support his son like this. It gives me hope that not all childhoods will be like mine was as I’m a transmale. And the final words, “You are loved. Exactly as you are.” Those are words every child needs to hear. Thank you so much.

Just a reminder you can still be one gender and act like and like another gender’s stereotypical things. You do not have to change your entire identity. If u want to that’s fine but you can be a guy who looks/acts like a girl or a girl that looks/acts like a guy that’s not illegal

This brings me Happiness I like to see People accepting the Fact not everything has to be how It’s Ordered to be. It doesn’t have to be Perfect or Great all the Time.. and Changes if they’re necessary Can be Used. WE HAVE TO UNDERSTAND THAT. And some People also Agree with It It’s not Just about being the Same all the Time. We need to Think Good not Positive

But almost a 1/2 ago i was finally able to come out and accept myself as a transgender. Great movie, i am definitly going to share it within my friends group and family.

Hello, I'm from Russia and I'm bi. I realized this in middle school and of course faced criticism from teachers and even parents. Nevertheless, I endured this difficult period, and now I am 19 and I have many good, tolerant friends. I believe that if I succeeded in Russia, then everything will definitely be fine with you! Good luck friend💞🕊 (sorry for the bad English, I don't know the language well)

I know it will pass with time and I don't care how long it takes. I am not childfree, I want a family, have a child, have a loving husband or wife. However, for me at the age of 19 it's too early. Even that we lived together most part of my life, since he start realising that since very young I was gay, that until he die in February of 2020 that we never had a good relationship. And it's really hard. So, watching you and your son, watching you give him the liberty to be who he wants to be, without question, without pressure, just let him discover from himself... Its just amazing. And really cried a lot watching this short. Hope you all the best... You're guys are simply amazing 😍😍😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I think a lot of people are relating this to just being trans (as in I see comments saying "I'm not trans, but"), and honestly I wish people were open to seeing it as about gender non-conformity in general, including trans people but also including cis people who just don't fit society's standards and that's okay. It doesn't have to be one or the other, it can be open to interpretation.
@valerieallison8612

I entirely agree with you, but I would like to note that being trans has nothing to do with GNC. Being trans is not identifying with the gender you were assigned at birth whilst being GNC means not conforming to your gender's expectations. You can be cis and GC, cis and GNC, trans and GC, trans and GNC, all are valid identities.

it's such a weird thing in society, one year later, to see how things have shifted. men aren't allowed to be masculine anymore, but they are called trans and gay if they are effeminate. women can't be soft and gentle and girly, they now have to be portrayed as tough and macho. it's like everything has turned on its head. I totally wish the rest of society would stop with the labeling and go back to when people could express themselves without being told they must be trans/gay or anything else.

When I was a kid, a bunch of little girls my age asked me what my favorite colour was, I said blue, and then they said I wasn't aloud to like that colour because it was a "boys" colour, and even though I'm now nonbinary, I think it's still important we teach that anyone can like anything, whether feminine, masculine, or a mix of both, at the end of the day, they are simply just colours, just clothes, just accessories, they shouldn't dictate what we are capable of, people nowadays STILL get upset over the littles things like boys wanting to paint their nails, it's insanity, we can't keep doing this. Let people be people.
