On iOS I have 3d model feature activated but I can't see the pencil icon itself. Rest 5 are there. I am missing something, if there any additional settings to activate that?

The feature you are looking for is not part of four drawing tools. That's why you can't find it. Tap to select the marker, tap the pencil button on the bottom to start editing the marker, then tap another pencil button next to the 3d model. Do I need something else to get this working? I see that on my app it says "Pro Features Activated" but when I press-hold the pencil button, all I see is the 'joystick' but not the other drawing tools. Do I need the 3D model or the location purchases?

Those four buttons are part of the 3d model feature as they are using 3d models

Tap the menu. If you notice the second menu says 3d model feature is activated then it is okay. Not all buildings have models. I am not sure where you are but you can try a big city, you will see 3d model for some buildings. If not, you can always import the 3d models yourself following this video tutorial - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/l9imecig0t7Dp4U.html
