Sir, with all respect, your approach is very confusing. Perhaps a building block approach would be better. You go off on endless tangents that only confuse. This looks like a great app that i would like to learn.

The Nominatim engine is selected by default for me. When I search, a link appears at the bottom of the screen that cannot be selected and that does not navigate to a location on the map. How do you fix this?

Excellent video. Very comprehensive. In the end purchased the RRS Ascend 14L without ball head. Despite interesting new designs that PD and Heipi represent. I have had nothing but excellent experience with RRS over 15 years. I own the TVC 34L and TFC 24L. Felt it the right thing to add 14L to the lineup as a travel tripod. Heads and leveling bases are all by Acratech.

I beg to differ about the RRS Ascent. First, comparing the wrong model to the other tripods is just bad form. I don't know how the shorter version would really have performed and neither do you. If you are a designer, as you say you are, you should know better. All that aside. You seem not to have noticed the build quality of the RRS or how the design and close tolerances make it function. The legs open/close with brass bushings set it the CNC machined head. Did you notice how the adjustors for the angle of the legs have inset magnetic detents that make them work as smoothly as they do? Did you notice how the adjustment levers for post height, ball head, and clamp are also CNC machined and work easily and solidly? Comparing build quality of the RRS to my PD (which I just sold because of its flimsiness under modest weight) is like comparing Swarovski crystal to Walmart Christmas tree ornaments. They don't belong in the same review. You criticized the RRS for not being able to keep the camera from flopping around using partial tension on the ball. This concerned me last night when I watched your video. When I received my RRS from UPS today I was ready t send it back. If your criticism had been true I would have sent it back today. It works perfectly. This is an important feature and a glaring mistake in your video. Oh well. You know what they say about the internet. Anyone can post anything.

I was leaning towards the Ulanzi from the many positive reviews but ended up purchasing the Heipi based on your comparison and some other criticisms of the Ulanzi that I had to search pretty hard to find. I suspect there was a lot of paid promotion for the Ulanzi with the number of videos that directly compared it to the PD tripod and found the Ulanzi vastly superior despite being half the price. Even though weight and size were priorities as a secondary travel tripod, the Heipi ball head looks much more convenient to use while being removable, and your test proved that the tri-center column actually does provide more stability and isn't just a gimmick. Thanks for your hard work.

I would like to add my 2 cents, about the K&F magnetic CPL together with the Kase inlaid adapter ring: I have both in the 77mm size, and the K&F CPL cannot be mounted on the Kase inlaid ring because it's too large to fit into a threaded lens: it barely enters for just half a mm, not enough to be kept in position only by the magnetic ring's grip. Even if I unscrew the inlaid ring to raise it almost flush with the edge, to be it in contact with the filter, the very low available edge of the lens does not prevent lateral movements of the filter, which falls off of at the slightest lateral push. So, I'd say that the K&F system is not compatible with the Kase "revolutionary" inlaid ring. For a not-Kase magnetic filter to be compatible with the Kase inlaid ring, the filter needs to be narrow enough to fit entirely inside the threaded edge of a lens. Another issue to be considered in my opinion is the availability of the UV magnetic snap on filter. K&F only produces UV magnetic _adapters_ . So, If I want the K&F UV, I cannot apply it on any magnetic adaper, I need to screw it in without swapping it easily as the other magnetic filters. Last but not least, Kase always sells not only one but even two magnetic rings (the normal and the inlaid one) in bundle with any single filter. So, If you only need a few single filters instead of the very expensive kit, you'll find yourself with a bunch of identical magnetic adapters, possibly useless. I don't know if the other brands have similar issues.

This application is saturated with information, becoming tedious and uncomfortable to use.

On iOS I have 3d model feature activated but I can't see the pencil icon itself. Rest 5 are there. I am missing something, if there any additional settings to activate that?

Glad to see the private vs public selection, but would really prefer to keep the private also local and not have to submit them. I imagine that is for the server side processing required to check for all the alignments for the location. If that the case would it be possible to pass in the camera and subject lat & longs for the server side processing? How do I ensure my secret (private) spots won't get out. There's an old say about 3 people can keep a secret if 2 of them are dead.

Thank you for this exhaustive comparison. While I think the Heipi looks like a good tripod, it has several shortcomings making it less appealing as a travel tripod: the company is relatively new and could disappear, this tripod weighs almost a pound more than the PD or the Ulanzi, the head is very heavy making it top heavy, a source of possible imbalance in the wind, it cost a 100$ more than the Ulanzi. I feel that for travelling light, the Ulanzi is the best value for the price as for me weight is a very important factor.

I'm interested in how many of these filters are made in the same factories. I see all these new brands out there that are not the traditional glass manufacturing from decades ago. Doing a survey on Amazon shows names like Schott, B&W, and Tiffen have been supplanted by hundreds of brands. Most appear to be very recent to the market. Surely there's not hundreds of glass factories out there making filters, rather there's probably only a handful of them making products to spec.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the tests! AS far as who was first with filter color coding? I heard someone say that as one brand was shopping around for a manufacturer to make their filters, the color-coding idea was lifted and put into the manufacturers' own line of products.
