097 - Retrieve list of Users and Roles in Environment using Power Automate

In this video, we are going to discuss how we can programmatically obtain a list of users and respective security roles from an environment using Power Automate Cloud flows.
*Update* - I learned from my colleague Phil Topness that the approach I have outlined is specific to users who have been granted a role directly. For those who assign a team to a user and subsequently a role to the team can use the Team and Role (teamroles_association).

this is only working when I add User to the Security Role but when add as A Team (user belongs to this group) it not working.

Is it possible to only retrieve everyone in the System admin role and filter out certain id's such as the Platform Admins and Tenant Admins? The reason would be if I granted one person to manage the environment, I want to know when or if they added someone else.

Hi Kent thank you so much for the content. Well, I need help related to my scenario... Would be grateful if you can help. I need to retrieve the users of some specific App only, only the users with whom I have shared my Model Driven app(not all the users of the environment) then simply I need to send them an email. I don't know how to fetch all the users of a specific Model Driven App. Could you help with that. The second thing is, I can not use any Premium action that requires Licensing . ..Would be very kind of you if you can help with it.

I did the same exact way as in the video, but i am not getting the systemuserroles_association value, I can`t select it from anywhere, and can`t code it. Is this still up to date?

I just ran the flow again and it still works. Table Name: Users Select columns: domainname,firstname,lastname,internalemailaddress Expand Query: systemuserroles_association If that isn't working for you it probably is a security issue. The user that is running this is an environment admin

I have the exact same issue. I'm a system admin, but I don't get any "systemuserroles_association" value to select. Did you manage to fix this issue? Great video, though! :-)

@@oliver3266 No, I only had to remove the security roles, I also wanted to retrieve them but I didn`t manage to do it and I dropped it.. Maybe it`s because of security issues as Kent Weare said.

@@abyal3kod201 I actually found a "workaround/solution" for this step. Essentially, I simply created it as an expression. So I created an expression like this "items('Apply_to_each')?['systemuserroles_association'] . And for the "Security Role" in the 'add row into table'-step I also created it as an expression like this: items('Apply_to_each_2')?['name'] . This did the trick for me. 😄
