Monty Moon Shoes for the win! Some of the art is quite charming in a cartoony way, but the games look like they could have been written in BASIC. At 23:12 we suddenly fade to black but keep running until 24:10 when Sex Pest de Soleil turns up! Is that a bit left over? I do that sometimes, and find I've rendered a video with 10 minutes of content, then 40 minutes of nothing, then 3 seconds of something....

I started computer gaming in 1983 on a Sinclair ZX Spectrum, a cheap and not very capable machine for its time. Apart from the superior colours, practically all of these games could have appeared on the Spectrum then, and wouldn't have been thought good for their time. The motorbike trail riding thing in particular is similar to one of the games I typed in using ZX BASIC.

Me too. This channel definately deserves a lot more exposure. Ive been watching some of the nerdies corners of youtub e for years and cant believe I never discovered octav1us until the other week. From the looks of their twitch stream, they are having lots of troubles at the moment and may not do many more youtube videos, whichis a huge shame because it's ike discovering a new favourite tv show and then finding out its been cancelled, maybe. but I hope they manage to get better enough to keep creating content as its really good stuff.

Using the same graphics over and over was probably a memory limitation of the cartridge. Don't think I have ever seen a compilation cart that was any good ever, so no change there.

I seriously thought the "finger guns" in #17 was a cell phone ringing! XD It is ALWAYS so good to see a new video from you. Not only do I always learn so much, but I end up laughing my head off in the process. (It does make it difficult to go out in public without my head, but... COVID, so... yeah.) Have we complimented you on your voice before? I do love listening to you talk. I feel like we may have missed yet one more quality you have that is worthy of praise. You have a fantastic voice, and it makes it very easy to listen to you talk about practically anything. Thank you for sharing your time and knowledge with us! Your efforts are deeply appreciated. (P.S. - I'm convinced that music is a rip off of one of the Tetris themes.)

The skiing game at 20:10 turns cool because it suddenly appears as if a bloody T-Rex of all things is on the skies. If only this was the classic 'Ski Free' for Windows, that would teach that grey monster bastard that always jumps out and eats you a flamin' lesson.

I've had one of those super compact master systems, bought it on a flea market around 2006. It was horrible, you had to plug it to the TV (RF only) and to a power supply, so you can imagine what happened when you moved the thing around while playing: a lot of interference and bad contacts. The idea was great, but it was not ergonomic at all, so your hands would hurt really fast. Oh! Almost forgot! The RF cable wasn't really necessary, because the console had a little antenna, so it would send the signal to the TV. The image quality, however, was just horrible (if you were able to make it work at all). You could also use batteries instead of a power supply (purely distilled wireless technology!). However, the thing would get really heavy, so it became even worse to hold.

hope your rats are doing ok after the insane heatwave in the UK. on the positive side I got to see a lot of different wildlife in my garden, stopping by to get a drink from all the extra water i left out. even had two ducks appear in my garden which I've never seen before

This is the first multicart I have ever seen “officially licensed”, most of these multicarts that were available back then were bootleg rubbish…..like the tiger electric games; they were just an illusion parents gave their kids to make them believe they had something cool….when in reality your time was better spend just looking out the window than playing any of those games. To my own surprise; this “officially licensed” multicart actually seems worse than the bootleg rubbish. Interesting! Anyway, thanks for the video Octavious 🍻

The Tectoy DVD Karaoke Game DVT-G100 is a strange product released by Sega's Brazilian distributor Tectoy in 2009. It is a DVD player, a Karaoke machine and a Sega Master System all built into one unit. Thats what i want now that i know of it.

This cart looks like the result of a freshman level programing course. "Here's the development software, your goal is to make a game by the end of the semester." It doesn't need to be Zelda, just any game. It reminds me a lot of Flappy Bird.

I wonder if the "Lunar Friend" got there via several typos or mistranslations... "Lunar Buggy" - "Lunar Buddy" - "Lunar Friend"...? The face on it made me giggle though :)
