The fact that the game doesn't ask "where did you learn to drive?" every five seconds seems like an odd choice for a Jaguar game...

Ive been wanting to do my own little review show for a couple years now, but my own mind sure seems to be the biggest obstacle of em all. Watching your videos, with your more intimate view into the struggles off camera, has inspired me to start thinking about it again. I think the cat is the 2098 version of a Roomba. "Too poor for a pet and a Roomba, why not combine them in the new improved Catsucki" (comes from Wish). "Guaranteed to not leave batteries in the litter tray (this time), or to plot for the overthrow of humanity (Catsucki+ only)".

I used to work for an electric model train seller, and the two largest scales are G scale, and O scale. G scale (or Garden scale) are huge. If you're familiar with the 80s Ricky Shroeder sitcom "Silver Spoons" there is a short bit in the show opening where the father is riding on an electric steam engine. That's G scale. G scale trains are pretty rare now because they're expensive, and it's difficult to have enough space for a proper layout. So the next largest is O scale which is about half as massive as a G scale train. Now we come to HO scale, which just means "Half of O scale".

Thank you for this review. Very enjoyable as always! :) I remember being a little bit excited about the Jag before it was released. And then once it actually was released and seeing the games in action at the one local game shop that sold the system made me realize that it was nearly complete rubbish. This game in particular sealed that image for me. Having played Star Fox on the SNES and Stunts on the PC years before the Jag and Club Drive were released, both of those games blow this one away in basically every way possible!

I imagine that she either has some form of leverage over them, perhaps she has a gun. Or heck, for all I know, she has dominion over all the rats, and if this person doesn't help her with her questionable game, she will send a large contingent of rats their way. Who knows, she's clearly a dangerous lunatic. I'm just glad that I can write comments here without any repercussions. Just think what she does to people she doesn't like! Yeah it’s one of the most obvious examples of a totally unfinished game being rush released to make it to the shops for Xmas. What’s most baffling here is that they already had another racing game to release... releasing something so unplayable is just embarrassing and drags the whole console down with it! The shame is, with a bit more development time (OK, months and months of development time), there’s a good game here... I actually like the concept and if breadcat had legs it would be awesome to drive under him! Don’t forget in 1994 I was still using an Amiga 600 and a 3D game like this would still have been pretty impressive (I think it was Xmas 1997 before I actually got a PlayStation!). Great video anyway as always! 👍

Cheers for the in-depth warning against ever playing Club Drive... It IS hard to believe that this had a press release to `encourage' people to buy a Jaguar. It's a pretty convincing argument that sales folk have little idea about the games they sell. Remember Dangerous Streets on CD32? It makes me wonder - if Jaguar is the worst console to play racing games and CD32 the worst to play beat 'em 'ups, I wonder what consoles would be the worst for other genres? I think there is a video in this and we retro gamers are keen to know, obviously...

Once upon a time there was an Atari Jaguar game called Club Drive. One day a Cat Loaf invaded a level. No know knew how the Cat Loaf got there or what it wanted. A brave researcher investigated and found a review that bore mystical runes reading “Hooray, cardboard boxes for graphics!”. And so was answered the question of why the Cat Loaf invaded the game. The brave researcher however wasn't brave enough to answer how and spent the remainder of their life hid in a hole in order to live happily ever after.

Great video, but can I just ask is that an emulator or an actual console you're playing on? I can't make an emulator work well on this PC... Either way, I liked this a lot. Bit concerned by all the jokes about death, though.

This looks oddly similar to Race/Hard Drivin', and I would sooner play those barely playable racing games than this monstrosity.
