1/18 Panda Hobby Crawler with Brushless Conversion

Made an adapter so that a SCX24 transmission could be mounted on to the Panda Hobby 1/18 crawler. This allows for every motor plate Ive created for the SCX24 ro be used in the Panda platform enabling use of brushless motors which can provide extremely slow crawling speeds.

Installed my transmission mount yesterday. Locked in super nice even without being screwed in. A+ product I’m converting an X1 6x6 to a Furitek brushless ESC and Komodo

Sweet! Been following you for a bit, ever since I needed a way to increase the motor size In my barrage Monster Truck build. I finally got both an SCX24 and a Panda Hobby Tetra x1 a few weeks ago, order Two Furitek esc s last week, and am trying to decide what motor and plates to get! Haha!

I like My panda just about as much as my scx24 but the aftermarket has no where near as many options. This will help with that. Thanks, good work Gamy!

I hope it does. It does seem like theres not that much support. Hopefully more people get on it now that they will have options🤷🏻‍♂️🤞.

Great videos, using your mount in my scx24 for the surpass, just got my Furitek tegu but having a lot of problems with cogging/glitching. Using the hot racing mod 5 spur with a 11 tooth pinion battery is 1000. 2s 20-30c. Calibrated using latest firmware running factory defaults. Any tips on how to smooth it out? I contacted Furitek they just sent me a copy of the manual which is no help at all.

Hey i found out how to get drive shafts from the scx24 to fit... hollow out the part from the panda that mouts to the axel output and slip the end pice of the scx24 drive shaft into it make a pin out of a paperclip and reattach the rubber o ring to hold it together and you dont have to do that to the transmisson side since the axels are made for the scx24 trans

I have a tetra k1 6x6. How do you get the motor off the trans . One motor is weaker and I'm trying to do a swap. I tool off like 5 bolts and the motor still hangs on. There is these 2 screw posts that turn but never seem to come out...is that where I'm having my issue

Cool modification! Do you get good torque at low speed? Meaning go over obstacle without having to give speed power to the motor? It would be great to see that!

🖐️🤠 hey Gamyrc....... What's the panda's performance like if you remain completely stock in everyway and just add the Lizard ESC, bypassing stock ESC and use Lizard ESC for control? Look forward to your kind reply & thoughts. Cheers from 🇬🇧

It gains lower speed control but the gear ratio still makes it hard on the stock 180 motor which gets pretty hot after a while. Deffinetly an improvement from stock though.

@@Gamyrc 🖐️🤠 Cheers for the kindness in reply, much appreciated. We heard about the motor heating up; some have suggested heatsinks on the motor. Bottom line....... We agree the scx24 setup is best for 1/24 scale and your work around here in vid looks to be the simplest & best option in the long run; Especially now FuriTek is on the scene 🎉 Well done brother 👍 Cheers from 🇬🇧

Well am glad I saw this video and another video where I was already thinking of using my v2 axial esc and radio since the one it comes with is bad than the one from axial. Then I saw there is a portal kit and I haven’t opened what I got (sport edition) so I will go back to the hobby shop and exchange for the portal edition. Looking forward to ordering the adapter from you

I broke a back drive shaft and need help fixing it. You do repairs..? I would do it but I just don't have the tools to get it fixed myself.

What did you do to adapt the axial drive shafts to the panda differential slide sleeve?

I use Losi micro driveshafts since they have the four sided "key" to fit the panda shafts and fit the Axial output. You can also use any other micro driveshaft with that same key, even wpl driveshafts have the same its pretty standard.

Hey man. Is this still available? Besides the scx24 trans, what else would i need? Do i need the scx24 driveshafts as well? Im gonna order the tegu esc and surpass hobby 1400kv motor. Trying to figure out what all i need lol

I'm in the same boat. Just scooped up the X2 and definitely want to to do this mod but need more info about the drive shaft set up first. Hopefully he responds.

@@miguelcandelaria460 Well I never got a reply. So who knows man. I know furitek is about to release a transmission and motor combo for the atlas, rgt24 and enduro24. I haven't checked into yet but if it's the 1/18 atlas, may be able to make it work.

Have you got a Katana? And have you tried many brushless inrunners with the furitek?

No, and yes. The Furitek will give you the best low end control out of any esc out on the market right now for this scale. Of course if you use a ridiculously high kv motor dont expect miracles🤷🏻‍♂️.
