The day has finally come, I bought a Timing kit for the Audi swapped 1.8t classic mini. The belt part is pretty self explanatory but the chain part of the process can be confusing, this is not a how to vid but is part of my build, for a proper how to vid, watch the ‪@HumbleMechanic‬ as I did and it was a ton of help 🙏🏻

@@klegraefe Well yes! I don't know what they make BHP wise, but a 1.8 turbo in mini shell should be fairly pokey hey! And whilst I think of it...will you be utilising many BMX bits for say the gear change, hand brake etc...? Or something different this time?? Do you have a theme, goal, vision for the interior? All surprises for us KZfaq followers hey lol 😉. Custom work really does coin the phrase 'the world is your oyster', although not everything works together! lol. Anyway, always love what you do! Keep up the good work 😊👍

can anyone elaborate on why is the intake cam offset from it's mark? i know it's supposed to be crooked like that but how come it's in the correct position like that. Surely when they put the engines together in the factory they would see and fix that. Did anyone study that subject?

Mayb these cams are used in other engines where those marks would line up, and it’s cheaper to keep making them the same rather than slightly offsetting that mark on slightly different blocks??

@@klegraefe i think the low hp version of the n/a version of that engine has the same cam so maybe the timing is indeed slightly altered for the turbo version
