@NewPlastic Or you can select one edge, extend to ring, then extends to loop. Which is less click intensive and less error prone.

I used to use cinima 4d for minecraft animating when i was a kid, is c4d still a good animation program, to my knowledge blender has completly surpassed it when back then that was definitely not the case, blender used to suck so hard

It's great brother, and getting better and better. Blender is an incredible beast but it's very convoluted and complex, Cinema is still much much much more intuitive. Not as capable, but you know, nothing is as capable as Blender.

It's not retopo which means that the model was already made up of quads and the modeler just fk'd up somewhere. Unless it's an imported mesh, I'm wondering how the geometry got so screwed up in the first place.

This tool isn't meant to retopo, it's meant to do something akin to Ironing or Relaxing. When you sub-d model, a lot of the times you end up with a surface where the polyflow is correct but the scale/rotation relation between the polygons is kinda wonky (as in, edges aren't as parallel as you would want them to be, wonky polygons etc). In that case, instead of manually moving points to clean it up, you can use this tool and it'll get you there quicker.

@@NewPlastic That's just my point. Whether it's subD or just regular planar modeling, the modeler must have really screwed the pooch in order to get things this bad. Clean topology was part of the discipline prior to sculpting. Nowadays with people sculpting first, the discipline of good modeling practices is suffering badly. The tool is useful, I agree. I still use Lightwave and we have something similar. However the kind of clean up shown in the example doesn't exemplify the typical deformation errors that we find in good models.

@@deadsetanime7102 Oh yeah I agree, the example is exaggerated, it's just to make a point. All my knowledge comes from tutorials, the way I see it, you watch a process and you make your own conclusions on how you're going to implement that process on your own work, so I'm sure most people who will find it useful will know exactly how and when to implement it! I trust my viewers 🙃 And hey, good topologizing is extremely tricky and even seasoned modelers will go thru messy processes til they get the right outcome, part of the process is using tools like this.

Infinity X the meaning of life, which is 0, is Infinity X 0 which equals to 0+the 1 idea I had to make this video is 0+1=1. 1xthe one click I made at the end of the video to make everything happen is 1x1=1 so the answer is....shiiit..47....
