Most middle-class Japanese go to conveyor belt sushi. One plate costs 100 yen (about 1 dollar), and good parts are 200 yen (about 2 dollars). Side menus are 200 to 500 yen (2 to 5dollars). There are many types of side menus, such as ramen, udon, and soft. Drinks, assorted sushi, ice cream, cakes, parfaits and more. Sometimes there is meat. It's okay because each dish is sealed as a measure against corona. Please come visit us when you come to Japan.

I love eating at a conveyer belt. It makes me feel like I am hunting. I watch the item I want and hope no one else gets it...then snatch it when its within reach!

That all looked really nice! Quite a few things, which they don't offer at my local restaurants, conveyor belt or not.

They do, at least on the West Coast! I live in Seattle and there are several conveyor belt sushi places nearby. Not quite so cheap, but still tasty and fun.

There is, Like the comment above there’s a plethora of conveyor belt sushi restaurants on the west coast, there’s a certain chain sushi restaurant called Kura that has the same premise of very affordable conveyor belt sushi where almost every plate is only $2

@@albinoDlN0 okay but not everyone lives in large cities. I have to drive over an hour away just to find the closest Asian market. When we say we wish we had it in the us, we mean in not just the most populous cities

The first time I had sushi way back in the 80s I wasn't sure how to eat it and the sushi chef said you use the little water/lemon bowl to wash your hands and the little towelettes and then you can use either your hands or chopsticks as you prefer. The chef also explained to dip the fish only into soy sauce and this chef didn't like it when people put the Wasabi into the soy and discouraged it but it doesn't seem to be a huge faux pas now a days. 🍣🍣🦪🦪 My date did stop me from eating the whole flower of wasabi even tho I'm sure that would have been quite the prank to pull on a first timer 🤣

It's a better practice, since you get some on your hands while eating, and you do get a better hold on the sushi, since the rice easily falls apart when using chopsticks, but few would eat sushi by hands. Of course, we always make sure we're clean before doing so! 😁

@firepantheress95764 жыл бұрын
If there is minimal rice, it is quite easy to eat alot more sushi. The rice is the filler and most sushi restaurants rely on the customer filling themselves with it.

People are being really ignorant in these comments about being gross and unsanitary that he’s using his hands to use the sushi. That how you’re supposed to eat sushi. It’s weirder to eat it with chopsticks in Japan. It’s a cultural thing and they keep everything very clean and sanitary in Japan so if people could stop being ignorant and calling another culture gross just because it is different from yours that would be great.
