I have been to these kinds of restaurants in Hong Kong, but mostly the children and kids would just tear the train and just take it from the rails, so sometimes not all 3 trains(we have 3 train ride tunnels) can come, at least one needs maintenance, so it's not that great and awesome as it looks like

Theres one similar to this in Chiba, JP. I joked to the staff "Does that train come all the way from Osaka?" The next time I went, they still remembered the joke and apparently it was a running joke that if the order was taking a bit, that it was because it was coming all the way from Osaka on the Mini-Shinkansen.

i like everything but the sound of the food arriving they could have used a less harsh tone like a chime instead of the beeping.
@madeofcastiron3 жыл бұрын
it needs to be loud beeping because genki tends to be quite full and packed, so people need to hear their food arrive. (it's only relatively empty now because of covid). but if you really dislike the sound, then i think you'd like sushiro more since they use a melody to alert you.
@arsenic2223 жыл бұрын
Not all branches have this beep sound tho. Some just arrive and stop quietly, then leave after you have taken all your food without the need to press the button as in the video to set off again. They have weight sensor on their trains I believe.

Hahaha when “natto” popped up on the screen, I knew you were in for a surprise! I’d assumed you’d tried it before- I haven’t, but I’ve heard that it’s a very strong and acquired taste, and that a lot of people (especially non-Japanese people) don’t like it at all. I hear it’s very good for you, but the strong smell and taste, as well as the weird texture, make it very hard to eat.
@Vidchemy3 жыл бұрын
Lol, yes, natto is an experience the first time one tries it. The fermentation makes the beans slimy like okra. The smell hasn't seemed objectionable to me, and the bean texture seems dry. There are techniques that reduce the stickiness. The first time I tried Natto was at a friend's home in Japan. Her parents got a kick out of my attempt, and they were impressed that a westerner would try it in the first place.
@smileytow19253 жыл бұрын
Ark A.H. Natto is so good for your bones! Lots of calcium. When I was first diagnosed with osteoporosis I tried to eat this! I bought it at my local H Mart in the frozen section, came in little styrofoam containers, with seasoning packets. I ate it with rice and a fried egg for 13 days straight! Figured I needed to get used to it! I never ever did! But I gave it a good try! It’s certainly an acquired taste! I know just what it was when he said fermented beans! 🤣
@allisonneal90603 жыл бұрын
I tried natto for the first time over ten years ago before I had "developed my palate" when my Japanese roommate encouraged me to try it with raw egg and rice. The smell wasn't so bad, but the flavor and the TEXTURE were a shock to my sheltered Western self. I have a personal motto though, "I'll try anything twice, three times if I'm not sure." Lol I'd definitely be willing to give natto maki a shot.

The closest experience I’ve had to this is a conveyor belt restaurant in Anchorage, Alaska. Something like this would be really cool here. Anchorage overall is boring. There’s no neat skyscrapers or innovative restaurants or anything like that. Anchorage really feels like a city from the 60s/70s. Our skyline looks boring and unimpressive for a city with 300k people (check it for yourself, you’ll see what I mean). I feel so jealous for people in towns like yours.

Omg I LOVE sushi. I live in tulsa oklahoma and we have a restaurant here called sushi train and it's similar to this except a train goes around daily slow with maybe 8 different kinds of sushi on it and each sushi is priced different and is on a different color plate and that's how they know how to charge you by how many and the color of plate so you just take off a plate as it passes. It's pretty fun. I buy my own salmon normally because with the amount of sushi I eat I can't afford to eat it out all the time lol. I normally order a 3 lb sushi grade salmon half once a week. Slice it up and put it in sandwich bags and it's gone in 2 days lol. I'm not big on all the rice except the spicy salmon roll. I just love the raw fish. We have a chinese buffett we go to and I've gotten to know the sushi chef and when I go to the counter he takes my plate and puts 10 or 15 pieces of salmon on my plate. It's awesome.

Hey DancingBacons. you know how okinawa has the fish markets where you pick your own seafood. Then bring it to a chefs stall to have it prepared. Are any of those near you? If so that could be a cool video. You select all your favorite seafoods from the market and then choose your favorite style of cooking.

He's in Singapore. There's many good seafood restaurants there. Just walk into a restaurant & order what you want. No need to go to the smelly wet market. The problem with buying your produce & handing it over to the restaurant to cook is that you must really trust the restaurant to use YOUR produce.

@@cataleatoyama7951 Not true. Genki Sushi was founded in 1968 in Japan, was established as a limited company Genki Sushi Ltd in 1990 in Japan, and listed in the Tokyo Stock Exchange in 1991. Where do you get your "facts" from?
