When I heard of his passing today, I cried, for the world has lost a great spiritual leader. I am so grateful his teachings continue to be passed on through his dharma talks.

Thay didn’t die he is part of us, he is everywhere like a candle his light embrace our joy and our suffering🙏❤️

I have been following Buddhism for 40 years, this is the best explanation on reincarnation or karma. My full homage to this belove Master.

Yesterday morning when I get to know, that our beloved Thay left his body, it started to snow. I thought the sky was crying today too. The snowflakes looked fluffy and like feathers they gently moved downwards. This moment was very touching for me. "The cloud never dies"sayed Thay. The cloud just falling as snow from the sky and when it reaches the earth it freezes into ice crystals and when the sun shines again it will melt into water drops. I was so very lucky to get to know Thay through his books and what Thay said is so true to me and helped me a lot. I've been a fighter half my life, always ready to fight. I believed that was the only way I could survive. Thay's teaching is such a relief for me and opened me up, he opened up a whole new world for me. Thank you forever, beloved teacher. My benevolent and tender thoughts are with the nuns and monks and everyone around Thay and i wish you all, a lot of strength, especially the next coming days, and all the best in this difficult time of letting go 🌌♥

You returned home on my birthday. Thank you for saving me.

What an honor to have a part of Thay living through us as his readers and disciples. His lights burns through every one who has been affected by these teachings. May we honor him back by breathing and smiling mindfully in each moment.

I’m sad to hear about the passing of Thich Nhat Hanh. His words have had such a profound, healing effect on my life… especially during difficult times. If you’ve never had the chance to read something by him, do yourself a favor and pick up one of his books… Plenty of good things lie within.

After hearing his death, today I went to the bookstore to get his book for the first time. In my room, thinking of the rough day that I had today I wished if I had a candle to calm myself. The next moment, this video popped up. That was such magical and the whole video was blessing to me. Thank you Thay for your light, you are the candle that never goes out.

Now we will see how much we’ve paid attention to our dearest teacher… what are we taking from his leaving… love and service I pray… Blessings♥️☮️

What a profound explanation. When we spread our light and heat out to the world, we become part of it in a form. Our thoughts, words and acts continue to remain in cosmos and can return to us. So we are never born newly nor we die, our forms change. In bhagavad-gita, lord krishna says that Atman is never born nor dies. It takes up new bodies and forms. I see the similarity in Buddhist teaching here, centuries after Krishna departed from this world shedding his physical form, it was realised by Buddha-Gautama in his experience of enlightenment.
