My Ryobi weed sprayer not used it that much in just over 12 months when your only using it to kill a few weeds. Now i need to use it to spray on a few nettles it as stopped working. The good news after some effort Ryobi are replacing it, however an email from Ryobi the replacement is not available to send, due back in stock July. My previous experience with a Ryobi garden tool a Garden Strimmer less than 12 months old. stopped working but Ryobi refused to replace it, due to having a house fire i lost my receipt. On the better note I do have workshop tools that have given me great service with no problems

Good advice to put in some dye. I also put some washing up soap just a few drops and vinegar instead of water

Thanks for the video. Should you have hand & breathing protection when using this? Do you ever add a dye to your mix to make it easier to see where you have sprayed? Do you clean/rinse out your reseviour after each use? Cheers.

You do not need breathing gear to put down round up. I always wash it out and let it cycle through with water after I am finished

Wear gloves for sure. A respirator is usually a good idea when working with chemicals but as long as you’re not using this thing for hours and hours, 5+ days a week, you’ll be fine without one. Keep your head away from the area you’re spraying and be conscious of the wind direction so it’s not blowing into your face or onto something that you don’t want to kill. Yes, clean it out after every use. Weed control will leave a calcium type residue in the sprayer if it dries in there or in the nozzle. Not the end of the world. But keeping tools clean is always the best practice. Happy DIYing!!!

Mine only lasted a year. The on/off button turned to black gel, then the pump stopped pumping. It ended up in the trash. Sad.

Does the motor stay on after pressure build-up or just when you press the wand? Thanks!

I have one and wish it had more power, way to weak. Also, wish it had a fan type nozzle in lieu of the adjustable/twist type.

My first I could never get it to prime so I exchanged it; the second one I could never get it to prime either. This is not rocket science. The pump either works or it doesn’t. What am I missing?

1) I mean no offense but Ryobi tools are DIY tools at best. They are made from inferior plastics and the batteries have a MAJOR overheating and failure problem. 2) For just a few more dollars you can buy Dewalt or Milwaukee tools that will last forever with proper care. Even the Flex stuff is pretty good. As far as the noticeable increase in price is concerned, shop for tools around holidays like Fathers Day and Christmas. Power tools will be on super sale around that time every year. 3) There are a ton of aftermarket companies making quality replacement batteries at a fraction of the big brand cost but they are slide in batteries not the “posted” ones like Ryobi tools or old school Dewalt tools used. I’ve found that the post style adapters that come with those battery kits don’t work very well so slide in is the way to go. 4) I take reviews with a grain of salt because sometimes you get a product that was made on the quality control guys day off and it fails. The next one of the same thing might last forever. I am speaking from a place of experience. I got a Ryobi belt sander (also have one of their drills) because it was on super sale. The thing wouldn’t go for more than 15 minutes before the battery was so hot the tool wouldn’t operate anymore. That’s not acceptable when you have a deadline. I have two of their batteries and they were purchased about a year apart in two separate tool kits so the chances of them being made the same day or at the same place are zero. 5) Keep in mind that you can only get Ryobi stuff at Home Depot or online. So if you’re at an Ace Hardware, Do It Best, Lowe’s or your local mom and pop hardware store, you won’t be able to get these tools or their branded accessories. When I’m spending money I like to get hands on to feel the comfort of the tool and check out the quality so being limited on where I can spend my money is a problem for me. It’s my money and I want options so I can spend it the way I want to. Again, not tryin to knock this guy. The tool obviously works for him. I like info when I’m spending money or when my livelihood depends on it and this is what I can contribute to the review. Hope this helps!
