been in the freshwater for over a decade, been running with the idea taking the step to reefing and after seeing your video on the setting up a reeftank without a sump and seeing some more video and how enthusiastic you're encouraging your subscribers to take on the challenge... I went for my first AIO (nano) two months ago. Today I started my second tank (175L) with a sump. Just wanted to express my gratitude on how I finally discovered an amazing hobby. (sorry freshwater tanks ;-) ) - good job!

It’s great to see a normal video from you, I’m not a fan of live streaming etc. So this was good for me. Tanks looking great and appreciate the honesty about acrylic tanks, despite trying not to I’ve managed to scratch all my glass tanks so god knows what I would do to an acrylic one 😂👍

I'm new to the hobby and bought a 40 gallon waterbox because I wanted glass and I know that acrylic easily scratches. I am surprised that an experienced reefer would purchase an acrylic tank and then observe scratches after a year.

No disrespect, but no experience reefer using chemicals to keep nitrates in check.................and acrylic should be limited to sumps only.

would love to see a fish list, of all the fish in the system, as some of the fish that are quite rare in europe are very common here in Aus but also some of them are near impossible to purchase. but please do put out a fish list!!!!!

@@HobbySci no! really? Michael - tell us the price ;) and did you get it thru De Jong or Nordic? I thought they were around $500 in Europe. But for that fish I'd be getting it through Marine Collectors - wish there was something like that in Europe.

I love how The One has developed! I do have a question, you mentioned the rock work being created by a company called Reef Tank Aquascapes. Did you mean R and R Aquascapes? I was looking it up and I saw your tank on their website. Did the since change their name since this video? Anyway, my real question is, do the ship to the US if I was to order something from them?

I absolutely love your videos! I have always wanted to do a saltwater/reef tank and you have made that desire even stronger. One day I will have one but until I can afford all the equipment and livestock I want in there, I will stick to my planted freshwater fish tanks

same for me, I done it bought the fluval evo, and a week after setting up bought a ea reef 900 lol .... start at a decent size or u will upgrade quicker.

Planning on adding an Elos Peninsula tank. Would you recommend the absolute stand or just build our own and save almost $4000? Also in terms of automating reef tanks are you recommending Neptune Systems with their strident and auto dosing adjustment or the Dastaco calcium reactors?

Including, but not limited to scratches, cleaning, hazing, durability, and, of course, which you prefer? Dang I was so set on going with a refusgium until I saw this video. So you’re saying It couldn’t keep up with lowering your nitrates and phosphates? And all you added was that additive

No he removed it because it had too much aiptasia in it. He had to use bacteria instead of the refugium otherwise the nitrates would rise. Refugiums can definitly take out a lot off nutrients. I personally shut down mine temporarily because it took out too much. So they can definitly work very well

If you are planning to change ur tank please look into jsreefs custom design display cum refugium sump and add Algae turf scrubber

I have some serious chronic health issues but have Always wanted a reef tank. The system you have sounds like a great way to go... BUT for a newbie (only wanting a small tank to start with but) wanting to get a set-up like yours, is it possible? Is it excessively pricey? What would you advise someone like me who has good /bad days... but can also turn into bad weeks/months?

Missed your weekly videos, not into the long live streaming, as I can’t sit around for ages listening to a bunch of people just talking about the hobby, I prefer the more educational videos where you would show and explain what was occurring in your tank, but that’s just my humble opinion, I might give the Bacto energy a go 👍
