I'm starting to feel Déjà Vu... In 2008, I watched friends and co-workers pack up their desk and walk out of Goldman Sachs… in that moment, I discovered the key to financial security- ownership. In this video, we've done the research and identified ten recession-resistant businesses that are tailored specifically to you.
We’ve developed the Money Matrix, the 10 Business, 4-quadrants that each one of you can place yourself into based off of how much money and skill you have at your disposal.
Data shows that job openings are plummeting, hires are decreasing, and layoffs are on the rise. Don't be caught off guard, so protect yourself with these recession resistant ideas to get you started in your journey to ownership.
Whether you're concerned about job security or looking for profitable business ventures, this video is your roadmap to financial resilience.

23-year-old hustle here! College grad, full-time salesman, and now Baltimore's newest junk removal king (unofficial title, of course). Launched this cleaning side project with just a U-Haul trailer and some muscle. Loving the workout, the sales pitch practice, and seeing my city shine again. Next stop: commercial contracts and a subscription service for Baltimore's bulk-hauling needs. Big thanks to you for inspiring the leap!

Let me inspire you! I have four (4) friends from African countries including Kenya, Zimbabwe, Ghana and Nigeria. Two (2) males and two (2 females. I met the girls in 2020 and the guys in 2021 & 2022. Now here in America, we Amercians are used to the scams coming out of Niger, Nigeria, Benin, Togo and those areas. What is unbelievable to me is how there are so many so-called 3rd world countries in Africa and yet, even people like you have cellpnones and or internet service. Scamming is a horrible business model and I cannot believe how they spend so much time setting up scams, marketing them, via mail and the internet, like dating scams on Facebook, spend the time and energy to make fake profiles, post daily and hope some uneducated American takes the bait, only to send links to hack their computers, and hopefully their financial accounts, or buy into their sale pitch scams and never really know if they are going to be lucky. So let's take my friend and now business partner from Kenya. The average daily wages there is $1.25 USD an hour and if you make $1,500.00 a month or $8,800/00 a year, you are considered upper class and rich. My partner is a female who will be 26 in a few weeks and she started with $0. All she had was a flat she could barely afford and just enough to pay for her food, clothes, rent, and her cellphone to keep in touch with her family who lives 4 hours away. Now while Codie doesn't recommend it, she created an Instagram, Facebook and TikTok and she sold items on ebay and Etsy. I helped her get some "remote" business gigs, working for other businesses. The money she made from that, she bought cheap items China sold on her Etsy store. She used her cellpnone to make videos of places to see and visit in Kenya. She wanted to be a model (like fashion) and because I have a fashion retail business here in the US, I did assist her. She created a Patreon that was fee based providing modeling tips and info which has grown. To us Americans, making $500 a month is nothing. But to her and the others who followed suit, in theses African countries, that is a lot of money! Unlike Codie, you have to start somewhere and being in a foreign country with different cultures, laws and how things are done are very different. However, all four speak English very fluently. So, like what Codie promotes in different videos, I showed all four how to use the SBA (Small Business Administration) to set up minority based businesses, get loans and get leads for business here in the US and then subcontract it out. Codie tells in other videos that long term contracts are something she looks for when buying a business. I agree. With me regularly doing gov't contracts for work, which local, State and Federal gov't agencies buy almost everthing under the sun! So, helped all four with pricing and what is allowed and what is not in the US. For example, the girl from Kenya, we secured a $3.5 million (USD) contract to mow grass for properties this agency owned two (2) times a month for 9 months out of the year. We then found a local company to actually mow the lawns. The others, I helped them get contracts to clean gov't offices, do lanscaping, plow snow in the winter, etc. These fall under what is called a DBE (Disadvantaged Business Enterprise - (minority owned business)). Now, each are making between $50,000.00 to $100,000.00 USD a month! Further, to offset taxes here, they are taking their profits and investing back into their businesses and like Codie, buying real estate rental properties, car washes, laundry mats and even septic tank (sewage) pumping businesses. For my help, I get 25% of what the make. So a win, win for everyone! Lastly, I am now helping all four legally migrate to America. WIth our current boder crisis, it is not easy, but we are making progress. There is far more to all of this than I can put here. However, there is a lot of truth in what Codie says and teaches. Yet, she is NOT 100% correct. Codie is in Texas and here in America while each state has it's own laws.... think of Africa and each country), there is what is called the Uniform Code. This means what while language (wording) can vary state to state regarding businesses, the intent is the same. Here in Ohio, the law is as follows: "the failure of a supplier to obtain or maintain any registration, license, bond, or insurance required by state law or local ordinance for the supplier to engage in the supplier's trade or profession is an unfair or deceptive act or practice." Ohio Rev. Code § 1345.02(G). In a handfull of videos, Codie tells viewers that you do not need a license to operate a business. That is just flat wrong! Bear in mind too that Codie is a "KZfaqr" who makes video content and that is one of here main sources of income. Look closely in the background of many of her videos and you will see her 500,000 subscriber plaque. Can you make money from KZfaq? Absolutely! Zach Johnson aka The Millennial Farmer (www.youtube.com/@MillennialFarmer/videos) is large mid-west farmer who has 1.07 MILLION Followers and makes more money from KZfaq than he and his family make from farming! Millennial Farmer Makes More Money On KZfaq Than Farming || Life Wide Open Podcast - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fJdjddh9mpqwdZ8.html I can also name many more! Also, I want you to go check out UpFlip channel here on KZfaq. www.youtube.com/@UpFlip/videos. This is a KZfaq channel that shows what Amercians are making in successful businesses. So I disagree with part of what Codie promotes in her videos. Like me, you have to like what you are doing. If you create or buy a business that does something you hate, it doesn't matter if you make $5 billion a year! We get snow in my state and you couldn't pay me $5 million a month to create or operate a snow removal business! That is how much I HATE SNOW!!!! So don't let her mis-guide you for profits in her pocket! You have internet and I'm sure a phone. So create videos about traveling to South Aftica. What are your hobbies, likes and dislike that you could share with the world and charge for? Maybe you can listen to or read business and investing books online and give a review of them. Maybe you have a specail talent that you can teach others about. Be creative and try! I hope this will inspire you and you can be like the four I am helping from Africa!

What about liability insurance? Do you have to have that to start?
@o4pureh2o
@o4pureh2o 4 ай бұрын
Thanks for the question. No you don't have to have it here. I did for a number of years but stopped. The company is an LLC and all my wealth is secured in other entities. I'm not worth suing. I'm happy to cover anything I break and the glass you're working on isn't covered by the business insurance anyway. In New Zealand personal injury is covered by a government system where you can choose a set amount of cover or 1% of gross profit. if a business is negligent the government insurance company can sue me but once again I don't own anything. They could close the busyness though but i would take the IP and client list and start again or sell it under a different company. @@lovelace1856

Well, depends on where you live. In the US and Canada you want to have that; 1 broken window and your customer will sue you for $10 million because he stepped on a spec of glass and is now in disability for the rest of his or her life... In Europe not so much, we tend to still have some decency left in our system although it is fading

I love this and honestly laughed when i saw the thumbnail! I was laid off 2 days before my wedding (i wish i was joking). i had worked a corporate role for 1 year. only 23 at the time. my ex-employer gave me 3 months severance. i used those 3 months to build a cleaning business. i am essentially a dropshipper of cleaning world. clients come to me, i sent cleaners their way. now 6 months in and love it! It's a slow build I realize but best week so far has been a little over $1k. do what others won't so you can be where others aren't

This is sound advice. I started out mowing lawns until eventually I had 3 trucks. All while putting myself through College. Once again it all resonates and you can adapt and transfer these ideas to your current field. I'm now a real estate agent and now I'm getting back to what made me successful by implementing the same idead, concepts and strategies that worked before. Codie, great job on interview with the ex software executive, who now owns a trash/hauling business. You ask those hard-hitting questions, not taught in business theory; the way to view a business in 3-4-10 years from now; and most importantly, what motivates one to go forward and start. You really have to Believe in Yourself! Thank you. Looking forward to seeing more content!

Never forget that honesty and integrity are also 'skills', and without them you will struggle. Funny thing... when I started my landscaping business 25 years ago I had to rent a lawnmower, but after 20 years when I had to shut down when my son got sick, my last job was creating a $30,000 garden :) Just do it.

I agree but it's the thinking like an entrepreneur that I appreciate with this video. I wouldn't have thought to categorize the skills vs $ in a quad that way. Thinking like a an entrepreneur is half the battle. Once that is accomplished I think you can make a business out of anything.

Her "hope" is based on solid business principles and ideas that put a person back in control of the future (being their own boss). She's not hyping anything. She's helping people think how they can use what they have money/skills and leverage that into something better than working for someone else. Not everyone who watches will take advantage of the information, but it's still good information. She's not a snake oil salesman.

Exactly what I’m doing again this week. The smartest thing I’ve ever done was having 30% in cash to buy on the way down in 2021. It hurt watching 30-40% discounts drop to 50, but grabbing Google, NVDIA, Apple, and others near the bottom has paid off. I love the bull outlook but I’m not confident to should hold all equities.

Keep up with whatever it is that you're doing to improve mankind or improving your life even to a slight degree each day. This is just one part of a bigger puzzle for creating my KZfaq channel about holistic health. I literally could have died back when I was 14 years old due to major depression but here I am right now replying to you, a KZfaqr, who's full of fulfillment and dedication to help others to be a better version of themselves. @@AlwaysHereAndNow Thank you! What I really focus on is the value of the content and what I’m truly passionate about while helping others! I'm glad that I'm foolish enough to believe that I can actually start making money through my passions. I've never thought that I'd be able to gain 1K subs faster. I can't imagine how many opportunities could have been wasted if I didn't have courage to go after them. That includes having this channel, being in a management role, having the people who actually care about me for who I am, freelance gigs, being an ambassador in a creative community and now I'm also planning on honing my public speaking skills through joining a toastmaster club and these all happened in 2023. It started with writing them all down on a piece of paper. A paper that serves as a reminder for me to go after what I want even through hard times. I'm not bragging about my accomplishments but simply hoping that this message can also inspire others to believe in themselves.

Codie, I love your content and the amazing and very useful stuff you put on the internet. Thank you so much! Do you happen to have a European version of all of these? 😅 I really want to do similar things but a lot of the things are very specific to US, so I am having difficulty applying the deal structures and types of businesses, let's say to a German or French market. Do you also do similar things abroad?

Loved this video. I’ve been an entrepreneur since I was 19, having owned several different businesses, including a SaaS company for the past 5 years. These are some great practical pieces of advice. Great job putting this video together and providing such valuable free content. So many people just brag about their success without giving any practical advice, but you don’t - so thank you!

This stuff about percentages, offering sales deals, subscription/loyalty programs, etc. This is very useful. You should make a separate ebook or PPT with this kind of info.. Like something they wont teach you in a business class but you need to know.

Thank you Codie for the video, it is very informative. For my input, you should do what you know. For example, you said that e-commerce may not be desirable, but if it is what you know the most about, then that is what you should do to make money. Knowledge is power, and knowledge is money. Cody, I love your content. We used it to buy a boring business but I do have a caveat to certain businesses. We bought a reputable, high volume service business a few months ago. Every week I get a call from someone who had an inexperienced person do damage to their house or property because they were winging it with dangerous equipment. We were lucky to buy a business with tenured staff but those who are just starting should be really careful about which boring business they start or purchase.

I was just laid off recently. Lucky for me I had started a financial services business selling other companies' products. Only making 1k/month, but its better than nothing. Using this time with a severance package worth about 12 weeks of income to focus on building my business. Good idea to start a podcast, I could start one explaining what I did to earn the $1k/month on the side.
