@Slazlo-Brovnik8 жыл бұрын
Probabably not. 1. Left hand exhaust issue is an UK only problem, and I doubt that they change the driving sides only to gain back 10% HP on a niche car. 2. Mirrossize is actually a good idea (e.G. not seeing the Bicycle rider while turning is number one reason of death for bicycle riders. Better mirrors help... and BTW EU Regulations even allow vor NO MIRROR AT ALL - if cameras are installed instead.) 3. yellow turn lights are a good idea, so that they are distinct form brake lights. The US even discussed adopting that several times now. 4. The daylights are AFAIK no regulation thing at all. Its Ford's choice. The type of daylight lamps would be legal - see e.G, the current Peugeots. In general I doubt that UK would change these regulations even after brexit. Well and regarding the BREXIT thing: If that was a good idea or a terrible mistake will be seen. I'd say: currently I'd put my money on "mistake".

VW group and other car brands are lobbying to make the rules the same in both sides of the Atlantic but so far no success, for example in US ABS is a extra not mandatory but in Europe every car after 2004 needs it, but in US Airbag is mandatory when in Europe is optional being only used by every brand to be able to have the 5 star Ncap ranting...

Cyprus also but majority of countries drive on the right side of the road. Old Britishes colonies drive on the left side. And before a part of Canada drove on the left, they changed in the begin of the 20 century in the USA, US virgin island drive on the left and for the 49 states on the continent, the law for the right driving began in 1792. And until 1804, the state of New york drove on the left ;) In europe, Sweden drove also on the left, they change the Dagen H in 1967. For me the logic it's drive on the right side of the road but i'm not sure in term of quantity of people, if there are more in the world in the left or in the right. Because India drive on the left... A map there, in red right, blue, left upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/32/Countries_driving_on_the_left_or_right.svg?uselang=fr But since the UK voted the brexit, they decided to change to side of the driving. During 1 month, only trucks'll drive on the right, If there are no crash during this period, cars'll follow the next month :D

Most Mustang lovers settle for the entru level V6 which is plenty nice as it is, thank you very much. The v6 is a far more capable engine than the 4 cylinder ecoboost. The 4 cylinder EB features a cast crank whereas the 3.7 is forged. The 3.7 also has regular sequential port injection instead of direct port so injectors are easier and cheaper to find for higher boost applications. A little research goes a long way.

Well... In Denmark we pay 160% tax on cars and 25%VAT, making the Mustang GT V8 cost around 120.000 USD. Petrol would be around the same, 7 USD/Gallon Insurance and roadtax per year would be another 1200USD + 1000USD per year Income tax here is between 48% and 66%, making it very normal to have a mortgage on a car over 10 years. Politicians in Denmark hates cars, it sucks..!!! (BTW - Tax on cars were just lowered to 160% from 180% last year)

To be fair, we get shafted with regards to European cars in the US with us often missing out on performance versions (think Audi RS6 wagons), getting versions with less power for whatever reason, and never getting diesel versions of vehicles that should have them like Mercedes G-Wagon.

And every other car we got shafted on here. We never get anything good here. Even Ford didn’t give us the Focus RS until 2016 and then pulled the Focus out of the US completely 2 years later.
@armadillolover994 жыл бұрын
What really sucks about it is that the whole reason the Focus RS wasn’t selling here was that dealers had insane markups on it, sometimes more than $20,000 over MSRP because Ford called it “limited production” and dealers thought they could get away with charging a premium for it. So now we’re stuck without the best hot hatch and I’m pissed because I wanted one.

I don't understand what the relevance of the speed is with regard to the gear changes? You change gears based on the tachometer not the speedometer? I'm missing something here...
@GraveUypo8 жыл бұрын
it's for bullshit 0-60 times. one less gear to go through. such importancies wow
@Drives31forhalo8 жыл бұрын
what GraveUypo said, although it depends on the transmission. For example, my 2007 Hyundai Tiburon SE has a 6 speed gear box where the highest you can go in third is 60mph, it's an entire extra gear I have to go through, but it actually helps with the 0-60 time.
@Boss11868 жыл бұрын
Shorter final gear means you get more acceleration but also reduces the top speed of each gear. What they said is, on the 3:73 final gear Mustang the top speed in second gear is close to 60 mph, wich means if you're trying to do a 0-60 test, it may be harder to reach 60 fast without bouncing on the rev limiter. If you're lucky and your device picks up the speed when you reach the rev limiter it's good, but if you have to go to third to reach 60, you'll waste some time
@boosted2v7498 жыл бұрын
gear ratio plays a huge role in acceleration. graveuypo has clearly never first hand felt the difference in 3.55 to 4.10 ratios(not bashing just making a point). i went from 3.55 to 4.10 and it's by far the most substantial mod you can make to your car besides forced induction or nitrous.

Anyone got an idea if the build quality of the EU cars is better than the US? I have seen quite a few people complain about the fitting etc on the US cars. The one GT a neighbor has here (EU) seems fine for now. P.S. - As far as I understood, it's not the EU version that got less power, just the UK one, right?
@dianamaioru4973 жыл бұрын
Correct- the UK is the one with less power because of the left hand drive. The rest of Europe has right hand drive, and the American amount of power.
@unconventionalideas56832 жыл бұрын
The EU cars are built in the same factory, so in theory it should be the same. Older versions of the Mustang used to have many more cheap plastics, and since American automakers used to do the interior last, it looked like they had spent money on everything and then ran out of it for the interior, which is true because all of the cost overruns would have to be dealt with in the interior. That is much less true nowadays.

@pauljs758 жыл бұрын
It's heavily taxed in Europe, while being a bit subsidized in the U.S. The main thing though is driving distances in the U.S. are like those of Russia, Australia, and perhaps China. The U.S. would basically shut down if gas was as expensive as it was in Europe, as many daily commutes here would completely span some of the smaller European countries. Europeans usually don't consider that amount of travel unless making a longer day trip of it, and in that case they have more transportation options. (Much better trains and public transportation there. U.S. is definitely lacking in that kind of infrastructure.) Not to mention most European cities still have their layout originating from medieval times, thus the cities are quite walkable and the need for a motor vehicle is significantly less.
@Themoigt8 жыл бұрын
Yeah thas correct, but man still ridiculous, one of the reasons is that heavily taxed is for the enviroment, so car manufactures make a car that consumes less fuel, i think in a very near future every car whould be electtic, theire just awesome look a the citroen ds survolt
@SCIFIguy648 жыл бұрын
Our infrastructure is the Interstate system. Also, several cities are putting in street cars and metro's for the downtown areas, and the one installed in my city (Kansas City) is free, and operates more or less like a vehicle on a road, except it's bound by tracks in-bedded in the road.

If you're not living in the UK (wrong side of the road), then you can go out to 'murica, buy a mustang from the local dealer and ship it to Europe. Then you will be able to register it in your country after changing indicators' colour from red to orange. And it wouldn't cost you much more than buying one in europe, if you don't count cost of transport for yourself (as a person I mean)

US logic : Allow insane hypercars to drive around the country Bans a japanese sports car *R34 GTR*
@1mfilms5 жыл бұрын
Totally not true. The US allowed all JDM sports cars like the Supra, NSX, WRX, 300ZX, 3000GT, and the current GT-R. They never banned the R34; simply put, Nissan never made left-hand drive versions ANYWHERE in the world.

I mean, they didnt ban it for safety reasons. The 25 year rule is to protect domestic manufacturers

Forget EU. A V8 Mustang costs more than a CLA45 AMG or an M3.

1st off: To be honest, most people here in America, where I’m from, prefer the regular seats more than the Recaro seats anyways. Because for some, the regular seats are more comfortable than the Recaro seats. 2nd: Not everyone here likes to waste too much gas. While some people here, like to drive fast and furious and waste gas or whatever, some other people like to drive more efficiently or drive Hybrid vehicles. My 2015 Buick Encore (which is the American version of the Opel and Vauxhall Mokka) isn’t even a Hybrid and it gets good mileage. Basically, what the point is though, is that some people here care about their fuel economy more than other people. So not everyone likes wasting too much gas.

US Octane isn't lower.. US just shows the average of the Research Octane Number (RON) and Motor Octane Number (MON) rating, which is the Anti-Knock Index (AKI) while Europe just shows the RON rating which gives a higher number than the MON rating.
