I was a manager in a shop once upon a time. I was having lunch with my area manager (who was about the only person from Head Office I liked and respected) when I got a phone call from a job I had interviewed for, asking me when I could start. Now, my phone was quite loud and my area manager heard every word. I turned to him and said "Was that enough, or do you need it in writing? Because I quit."

I remember one guy we had at the McDonalds I worked at, he quit by setting himself up to get fired on purpose. He brought a bunch of bath supplies to work one night and later in the night, literally took a bath in the dish sink.

I drove a forklift through two glass garage doors intentionally before quitting because company policy says they can "legally" (it's illegal, but they bribe politicians) deduct up to $200 of damages no matter how much was damaged. I only had to pay $200 for $3,000 worth of damage while walking out!

Allegedly the day I quit totally a coincidence of course, my boss got a male stripper (he was highly homophobic) and a ass cake. The male stripper and ass cake was paid via a prepaid credit card (I heard)

I don't know if this was considered epic, but just after graduation, I worked as a Sales Executive in a hotel for almost 10 months. During that time I've been thinking of quitting because my boss aka the hotel manager keep touching my butt or my hips whenever he had the chance, it pissed me off. I told about what he did to my colleague but they just said: "he's always been like that with young new staffs, just don't say anything if you wanna keep your job". So, when I was chosen to host a small event for staff at the hotel where my boss and his wife were also invited, I went up to the podium saying that I had to give a speech, but instead I told all the people in the hall that I'm quitting because of my boss keep sexually harassing me. The expression on their faces at the time was so priceless.

I didnt quit...i got fired cuz my boss saw me drunk naked on his desk while shouting "WHERE'S MY F*CKING COFFEE JENNA!?"

I can relate to #4. My friend was working at a Taco Time as shift manager. They didn't exactly deny him time off... but every single time he was supposed to have time off they'd call him to tell him they need him for one reason or another and so of course he'd cancel his time off and go in to work. After 4 months without even a single day off he decided to book some time off for a convention that they couldn't call him in from because he deserved a chance to relax for a couple days. They of course called him and when he responded that he couldn't, he was in another city and on top of that had already spent money on tickets and photo ops and such because they had approved the time off they told him if he can't make it in he's fired. He legitimately couldn't make it in even if he had been willing and was in fact fired.

I think I will send my boss flowers with a card saying sorry for his lose, of me.

Doug Walker's resignation was pretty epic too. How many of us will actually have the guts to tear open our shirt to reveal that we painted "I QUIT" on our chest?

I would never quit a job no matter what it is. I'm too poor to quit jobs.

I live near Depew ny, I remember seeing that quit sign. That was funny as hell. People still talk about it around here lol

It happens that I just rewatched Jimmy Fallon reading his favorite hashtag how I quit submissions. A few of my favorites were the whole group who quit together then went out to their waiting limousine and rode away, the Wendy's employee who asked for the weekend off to see the college he was considering only to be told by his boss, "You have to choose, Wendy's or college." and the guy who slammed his work ID onto a counter, announced he was quitting then turned to stalk out but face planted into the glass door. Best of all is how my mom retired. After working for the state most of her adult life, her male boss resented her because she didn't fall at his feet to worship him plus loathed the fact that many younger employees went to her with all kinds of questions due to her vast experience. He decided to essentially demote her to a job she wasn't physically capable of assuming she would be unable to do anything about it aside from suffering through. Well, she'd signed up for DROP a year earlier and originally planned to stay for two more years then retire. She came home and spent the weekend considering her options. On Monday morning, she walked straight into his office, not even noticing that a trail of other employees had begun to follow her, sensing something was going on with their adopted second mom. (Everyone loved her THAT much!) She dropped her ID on his desk and said, "Take this job and shove it." She left his office to a storm of cheers, a whirlwind of hugs and was not allowed to lift a finger when she went to clear out her desk or even carry her things to her truck! She was only allowed to supervise the packing. We heard the little creep was soon fired for causing the loss of the longest remaining and most useful worker there! Karma, baby!

I used to work for dollar general almost two years ago, only lasted four months due to the manager being a jerk. He actually made me come home crying, he got mad at me over something stupid. I had to leave after that. How I quit I just gave him my resignation letter and thanked him for the opportunity. What I really wanted to do was tell him off, grab a case of beer and give him the middle fingers, but nah I wanted to quit professionally and respectfully even though he really didn't deserve it. Everyone hated him I'm not joking about that. Lol

I still think Doug Walker had one of the most epic ways he quit his job, he recorded himself quitting and he was even interviewed by abc on 20/20 about it.

I would have LOVED to see Doug Walker's famous job quitting video. Walking into the cafeteria with the theme from 2001: A Space Odyssey playing through a boom box, ripping his shirt off revealing "I QUIT" written on his chest and then dancing through the plant with Bohemian Rhapsody playing until he is literally chased out of the building by some of the other staff.

Chipotle sweat shops: I can validate this. I worked at Chipotle for about 2 years and it's the most physically demanding and stressful job I've ever had.

When I worked at a small hospital in rural Ohio, our hospital medical director quit his job and private practice to go work for a big corporation as an occupational doctor. For his big exit, he went roller skating down the halls of the hospital. EPIC!

Doug showed up to where he worked, along with his brother Rob (who was filming). Doug went into the break room, played the theme to 2001: A Space Odyssey on a portable stereo. Doug got on a chair & as the theme reached its climax, Doug pulled open his shirt, which had the words 'I quit' on his chest. Then the 2001 theme switched to the tail end of Bohemian Rhapsody.

I remember a day at my job, just before break. I work at UPS as a unloader, and a guy that was supposed to be in the same truck as me told me "I'll be right back". I said ok. Well, he never came back and break hit. I asked my co-workers about him, and they told me "Oh yeah he ran for the exit. He looked left, then right, then sprinted out of the building". I was dying of laughter.

I am from State College, PA and my sister worked at the chipotle during that time. She quit about 3 weeks before the large other group left. She said it was hell

I used to work at a movie theater and right before I quit, I went into the back room and switched ALL the soft drinks dispenser tubes, so when people ordered a Pepsi, Mountain dew would dispense out of the Pepsi dispenser and sprite came out the coca cola dispenser and so on. I just sat back got me some popcorn and watched, better entertainment than any movie playing there.

Awesome ways to quit. When I've left a job I just did the standard, "put it in writing." but doing it on a cake was so much more creative :)

I worked with a teacher who quit when during a reunion the principal anounced that students were entitled to express their opinion about their teachers including it being ok to call a teacher a prostitute.
