Hey, that depends where are you going to. For Süßer - young apple wine, you need to come to Frankfurt in September, you can have it n every apple wine tavern. Federweißer and onion cake - young wine, you can have it really anywhere, but mostly in the wine regions. Squash soup, wild meat is always on the special menu of most of the German restaurants, especially here in Frankfurt. For savoy cabbage and cabbage rolls you need to go to the North of Germany, those are staples there. Chanterelle, white mushrooms and penny buns you will find anywhere on the special menues in the Autumn season. Hope that helps :)

Great video. I live in frankfurt and recognised some of the restaurants 👍. Hopefully lockdown will be short and we can go back and live our life. I just moved to frankfurt 1 year ago and at first was miserable with the food (big difference with london) but I have changed my mind. I like the quality of the ingredients here and even being vegan I always get away with something super nice 😉
@cooking-the-world
@cooking-the-world 3 жыл бұрын
I also hope that the restaurants will open, at least in December. I bet it is not easy to eat out as a vegan in Frankfurt, but I am sure that there are some restaurants that do only vegan food. Traditional apple wine taverns stick to traditional food, so I guess the only thing you can do in those is to drink apple wine and eat some sauerkraut. The other day I was thinking that the only traditional vegan food I know would be Swabian potato salad:) and only if they use vegetarian broth for the dressing.

Is wild pork slightly tough compared to domestic meat? Or not? I have wondered. If so, makimg schnitzel would tenderize it! There are many wild pigs in the south and south west, that have bedome a nuisance, but I do not know anyome who has eaten their meat.

My mother taught me cook pumpkin with ginger, it got another flavor; also prepared cabbage rolls like you showed; sometimes she stewed rice with cabbage, mushroom, pork, onion, chicken soup and put parsley or black pepper before served, similar to Spanish stewed rice with sea foods; I felt this stewed rice was difficult, I never did it successfully; would you try it?
