10 Greatest African Rangers

Күн бұрынA slightly later than planned video inspired by the African Cup of Nations, celebrating the 10 Greatest African players to represent both Rangers and an African Nation.
The beyond the realms of reality hope I have is that this one leads to a whole load of young African fans ditching the likes of Chelsea and Man Utd to follow the famous Glasgow Rangers from afar but if not, at least its a bit of fun.
Since I've tried to include more international footage for the neutrals footage for this one is from all over the place but the vast majority as ever is from Rangers TV or my own collection.

Man watching Bougherra was a treat and is easily my favourite Rangers defender of all time (I started watching Rangers under McLeish so sorry to the Butchers, Greigs, etc of the world)

Another inspired transfer by Sir Walter. Sakala should still be with us also. He was getting better and better the more he played. Another baffling Beale decision along with getting rid of Colak.

Interestingly, the first African player ever to play in UK football was Egyptian, Mohamed Latif who signed for Rangers 1935.

I only found out about Latif when researching this one, really cool fact you’d think would come up more. Would have been a cracking bit of info to drop in the intro now that you mention it. 😂

@@Top10Rangers It certainly would have mate. Here's a wee bonus fact for you. The first foreign player ever to play for a UK team was Austrian goalkeeper Karl Pekarna who signed for Rangers in 1905, but was only a Rangers player for a few months, because he returned to Austria due to home sickness.
