I’ll never forget crossing over into Mexico in Red Dead Redemption. Acoustic guitar kicks in, then you hear “Step in front of a runaway train. Just to feel alive again.” Goosebumps

Oh hell yea man, RDR is a juggernaut of a living breathing open world! I remember the first time I crossed into Mexico and thinking to myself “holy crap this map just goes forever!” RDR is also home to what I personally consider the best expansion ever with undead nightmare! Talk about DLC!

Despite only riding your horse, Arthur’s last ride is one of the most incredible gameplay sequences I’ve ever experienced. Knowing he’s going to his death, Arthur reflects on everything he’s done and whether or not he’s a good man.

I will never forget the intro into Red Dead 2. Majority of games always place beautiful graphics into the cutscenes, but when you first get a glimpse of the world from the different views in the snowy mountain, and then the camera pans to you before you take control and realize this is the game you're going to be playing rather than a cutscene, it was AMAZING.

The opening title sequence for Ghost of Tsushima where you ride out of the Forrest into to field and the music swells as Jin reaches down to touch the grass…very reminiscent of the emotion evoked from Assasins Creed 2s title sequence with Ezio and his brother. The power of music in video games 👌

Battlefield 4, I remember seeing levolution for the very first time and that truly made me sit there and go "next gen is finally here" was such a cool idea and was executed very well throughout most of the maps, changing how you approached combat for the rest of the game after the event. I love how in Bioshock Infinite, after you die, those two entities show up and talk to Booker. However if you pay attention, what they are doing is pulling another version of Booker from some different timeline and placing him in current one, so that Booker doesn't repeat the same mistake and dies. It's very neat detail to explain game mechanic (respawn and continue) with plot point. Also if you look even closer, behind them you can see crossed stick figures on the wall, which represent each Booker that has died (equal to the number of times you died in game).

As someone who has played Hell Let Loose a fair amount recently, I agree. Those explosions, from either side of the battle, are something else. *Especially* when you're in a tank with your crew, and someone calls in airstrikes danger close or the enemy has an artillery battery aimed on your position. Strikes just the right amount of pant-pissing fear into you, but also just looks absolutely gorgeous...in a very bloody sort of way.

Can we also add when Dom Santiago sacrificed himself to save his friends in Gears of War 3. If you took the time to invest in the story, then you know that scene hit the "feels" so hard. Everything he had gone through, and the loss of his wife Maria, (having to put her down). I had tears running down my face. I had to put the game down and process what just happened.

I don’t know if it’s been talked about before but a spectacular moment I had quite a lot back in Battlefield 1 was when everything in a multiplayer match lined up to perfectly immerse you. Usually at the very beginning of a round as you spawn in on one side of No Man’s Land, then run alongside numerous allied infantry through the trenches and artillery-holes, seeing bombers soar overhead and level buildings in the distance, only to be promptly engaged by enemy fighters and get crash into the earth ahead of you, watching artillery shells fly past you and your squad mates as you avoid the walls of gunfire coming at you from zones, seeing the tanks drive up ahead of you firing their full barrage. Small moments where everything is working in unison really made you feel like you were part of a large-scale epic war, and knowing that every single thing happening was directly because of someone else playing with you was astonishing

I totally agree with the Jedi Fallen Order pick, that game is still fresh in my head as I only finished it a few weeks ago. That scene with Vader was awesome. When people say today that it was underrated....it really was. I've played through that game maybe 5 times since it was released. No, it didn't have the depth of an Action RPG, and it was short, but man, what was there looked amazing and 'felt' just as amazing to play. Combat was really meaty. Like a Souls game but 3x as fast combat. Really wished there was a sequel. I'd pay full price for that one.

The arrival of the Forward Unto Dawn on the Ark in Halo 3. It’s not the most amazing moment, but it is the first that I remember truly blowing me away. Spotting the ship off in the distance and seeing it grow as it approaches, then it swoops in right on top of you. The seamless fluidity of the animation, the way the sheer scale and weight is presented, all in real time gameplay. I still get a sense of awe every time i see that beautiful ship come in to land

Most recent game I played that had an impactful or a hit on the ol heart strings is Ghost of tsushima. Either Yurikos side quests with Sakai asking a question and slowly realizing what happened or the ending(spared) where you walk away, music picks up, fades to white, silence, and then a beautiful voice appears and credits roll with an amazing song. Straight loved it
