Wide brimmed hats and ladders great combo can’t believe we haven’t got half the things you mentioned oops ! I did buy nespresso machine the other day and convinced myself it was needed , but joking aside great checklist for us first timers 👍👍

Yep you never know when ladders and wide brimmed hat may come in handy. Don't knock the coffee machine. Juliet bought a unit for the awning so she could put her new Tassimo Machine on it.😂😂😂. Thanks for your comment and support. Phil.

Good considerations. We too have forgotten many of those items when we used to go camping. A little different with us living full time now, but certainly great information.

Thanks. If the funds are there to buy extra for the van this is ideal. It has stopped us forgetting things when we go away. Thanks again Phil👍🙂

A good selection there. We tried plastic tubs rather than collapsible crates but have now settled on those big reusable shopping bags for clothes, food etc.

Thanks Guys. Juliet has bought some of them large bags. I have no doubt once the van is sorted the collapsable crates will live in the garage till van servicing day. Thanks again Juliet and Phil.

Hi there! That's so funny, we too have recently resorted to using those big Aldi and Lidl bags for transporting clothes etc..they are great and then you can fold them up and use them for shopping while you are away :)

Juliet says she has bought some large bags with zip tops from B&M Stores. She has put all the bedding and clothes in them. Phil😂

Hi Phil/Juilet, great video a good set of items there, we always start buying bits and pieces before we go away and put them in the caravan We always make a list of things to buy/replace when we're away in the caravan so we can replace them when we get home ready for the next trip out. A waiters friend corkscrew is a much better corkscrew, but make sure it's comfortable in your hand before you purchase it. Also comes with small blade to cut the foil on the bottle.

You two are SO prepared for this! You'll be like seasoned caravanners right off the bat :). All good points and things to remember. We always leave sunscreen, hats and sandals/flip flops in the van (the sun does shine in Scotland from time to time and we've been caught off guard before!). Oh, also citronella candles are good for the midges Looking forward to seeing when you collect your new caravan. All the best... Janice and Paul.

Thanks Janice and Paul, hope you are both well. Citronella candles are on Juliet's NEW list. Yes not long now. Pay dealers on Friday and collect the following Thursday. Car collect next Monday. It's a bit manic here at present sorting everything out, but we'll get there. Thanks Juliet and Phil.

Yes, we are well thank you. Paul and our son away in caravan just now... I'm sad coz I had to stay and work. However away again later this month...need to catch up on my video making. Best of luck this week and next....exciting times :)

Thank you for this! Am new to caravaning and am currently experimenting with what to leave in the van when not in use, do you leave towels/sheets /duvet covers in the van? Bed made up?

I think you covered the most important one, the corkscrew. I am surprised that corkscrews are not an essential and come as part of the caravan or motorhome :-)

Dave you are so right. We must have about 10 corkscrew. We were always forgetting one on our travels. When the USA it cost us more for a corkscrew than the 2 bottles of wine we bought. That one did come back with us. Thanks for your comment and support. Phil and Juliet.

Pans! Dont forget the pans! We made this mistake first time we went away. Thought oh we will just eat out. Its only a weekend. With 2 adults and 3 kids your skint! Trust me!

Agreed ! We got a set of pans with removable handles (to help storage) in the sale at Millets. For the money they're amazing quality.
