The only sort of Special Edition I got was one for Halo: Reach that came in a pretty neat container and included Dr. Halsey's journal, some bits of ONI intel, and codes for both the Elite Officer skin and the UA Recon Helmet. Though, the only special/collectors editions to a game I have always wanted to get was the Limited Collectors Edition for ARK: Survival Evolved. I am a huge fan of the game and the bundle came with a fully illustrated hand-crafted leather book of all the Dino Dossiers, and ARK necklace, a cloth map of the Island, a live recorded copy of the full game soundtrack, a special themed poste of the Studio Wildcard development team, a copy of the game (PS4 or Xbox One) and the Season Pass that included all the DLC all packaged in an ARK style faux wooden chest. I want to say the price tag on it was like $159.99 (USD) if I remember correctly. I wish I had that money to spare when they first released the Limited Collector's Edition.

I remember the first collectors edition I bought. Lunar: Silver Star Story came with a soundtrack, full cloth map, and a necklace that was solid steel and gold plated that weight nearly 5lbs.

I got the New Vegas collector's edition when it was released... still haven't opened the chips or the cards.

Does the First Class Edition of the FF7 Remake count, for this list? I forget how much it actually cost, but I want to say $350. It had a steelbook you could put the game disc in, a Deluxe Edition Artbook, mini-soundtrack, a lanyard, and statue of Cloud, alongside the motorcycle he used in the game. I got one of those.

The last good special edition I got was Wild Hunt. These days people buy them all up 2 minutes after they've been released online.

Was expecting the Dark Souls Trilogy Collector's Edition to be on here. All 3 games with DLC. Compendium guide for every nook and cranny. 13 inch tall, hand painted, elite knight statue with bonfire including removable metal sword.

The fallout 76 helmet did not have mold in it. GameStop sold a similar one with a nuke cola paint job and that was the one with mold

really shocked jules didn't even mention any of the bioshock collector editions. got bioshock 2 with the records sealed, infinite songbird edition sealed right above my closet tv. got that lovely origins collector sealed as well, and my most favorite being the last of us: post pandemic collector since it as a gamestop exclusive, and well is around 4 digits sealed online. glad mine is sealed from the day i got it.

so that Catherine one I actually remember getting the boxers (and i still use it), so in some game shop when a collector's edition does not sell what they do to make room for the new stuff but to not lose stock they move the game to a regular edition or pre-owned and what happens to the extra stuff? usually "tossed out", in this case, the item was split, me getting the boxers and soundtrack, and the employee getting the shirt and pillowcase

Can confirm: The Fallout NV CE was awesome. The chips are incredibly high quality, and the pack of cards came with a Caravan rules sheet in the deck. The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine physical edition was packed with a really nice pair of playable Gwent Decks. The Arkham Asylum Batarang was a piece of scuffed up garbage, sadly.

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist came with a remote control helicopter. Duke Nukem Forever came with a mini deck of cards, a poker chip and a stone-esque statue of the titular character. Halo 3 Collector's Edition (I think it was) came with a huge box containing a beautiful Master Chief Helmet display.

I actually have quite a few of these. I just like getting collectors edition games.

My first and still favorite collectors edition I bought was Assassin's Creed 2: Brotherhood. It came with a plague doctor jack-in-the-box that is awesome, it's not ostentatious at all though. Others I like are Dark Souls 2 with the knight statue, and Sekiro with it's statue and coins.

i still have my messenger bag from my collectors edition of infamous 2, it’s stored in my attic now but it was the best built collectors edition item i ever had.

I had the FO:NV collector's edition. It was one of my favorite pieces. Friend of mine offered me $750 for it since it was complete with game. I regret getting rid of it :(

I do have the New Vegas collector's edition and can't wait for the Cyberpunk 2077 collector's edition to come in the mail.

One collector's edition i would love to get if it wasn't so damn expensive, is Dark Souls 3 Prestige Edition with that amazing 40cm Yhorm the Giant statue.

The only two I've had that are notable is Halo: Reach, Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire, and Death Stranding. I sadly didn't get the statue, but the seller hooked me up with the case and Halsey's journal, so I wasn't trying to push my luck. lol. But you get a nice chunk of lore, where they confirm that Miranda Keyes' parentage, which was a running theory prior, and you get insight into Halsey's mind. With Deadfire, you get a bust of Eothas, in his statue form, looming over the Watcher's boat. Alongside that you get a Guidebook, which fills you in on the lore of the Deadfire and Pillars as a whole. Along with it you get a Cosmo the Space Pig pin, an explorer's patch, a mousepad, a nicely made map, and a few others things I'm probably forgetting. Death Stranding gets you your very own Bridge Baby, some of the in-game warning tape to go with the briefcase the game everything else goes in, from what I recall. And a little Nendoroid keychain/necklace that I've yet to wear around.

There's the FFXV's collector's edition I really wanted, it's so wonderful and has too many things!

I have a couple of Collector's editions, to me the best (that i own) are, Gears of War 3, The Witcher 3 (Xbox for those Gwent decks), Halo Reach, Alan Wake and Dark Souls 3, really sad i missed Bioshock 2's

I like simple special editions like undertake comes with an art book and a heart pendant necklace.

Dishonored 2 came with Corvo's mask, ring and comic. Love it. Also, Arkham City with the Batman statue, and bluray version of Gotham NIghts, with an art book included. Both Injustice games also came with really awesome statues.

You forgot about Titanfall 1 collectors edition, that piece is amazing… that’s the biggest collectors edition I have ever seen. The packaging box can literally fit a person in there.

The one special edition I wish I had been able to afford/snag was the special edition version of the Command & Conquer Remaster put out by Limited Run Games. So many cool things in that edition.

Since I tend to collect things more than I display them most of the collector's edition combos I usually don't open. That said, I don't think I could stop myself if I had most of these.

I have the Witcher 3 one and for its price it was great you got so much stuff and the Xbox version came with two real Gwent decks and the compendium/art book was literally a full sized hardcover book that was a good length too for 180 or so Canadian it was a great value compared to many other games special editions.

I managed to get the Arkham Asylum special edition (pre-owned) for £5 from Game, dunno how/why it was so cheap at the time (the game was only like a year old by that point) but I snagged it up just for the baterang and fell in love with the game after the fact I remember also getting the special edition for Fallout 3 (lunchbox, bobblehead, artbook) and Bayonetta (gun replica) from Game for no extra cost, it was more like a 'first come first serve thing' more than a 'pay extra for' kinda thing

Recently pre-ordered the White Snow edition of the upcoming Nier Replicant game. To me, at least, the value is there with what comes with it: Collector's box, steelbook and regular cases, 2 disc soundtrack set, a set of 3 pins, a 7 book script set, and the digital goodies (avatar set, dynamic theme, and digital soundtrack). This will be the most expensive collector's edition I'll have ever purchased and probably the last :)

What kind of special edition would you want to get in the sense 'What would you include in a special edition designed for a game of your choice' The USB-Stick from the Resident Evil 2 Remake? One of the Masks from Ghost of Tsushima? A small version of Sekiros arm? etc. ... Would be interesting as a chaty-topic as well...

I absolutely bought the New Vegas collectors edition, and it is beautiful in person I got the Batman baterang one too, and my favorite thing in there was the little notebook with the psychological profiles of some of the characters

The Last Guardian had a pretty nifty collector's edition that had a sculptor of the game's boy and monster-bird duo, along with an art book that showed off some impressive behind-the-scenes details about the long-awaited title.

The death stranding collector's edition was absolutely nuts. Including a bb in a pod that doubles as a lamp. I had it and I love it, when i seen this for the first time it was so ridiculous and over the top I just thought I have to have it. I also have the doom eternal, mortal kombat and resident evil 2 collector's edition s on this list. My RE 2 is just the standard American version not the z one or whatever it was called.

And to think, I was so delighted when my pre order of CronoCross came with a little clock. 🤔

The regular Fallout 76 power armor helmet didn't have mold in it, it was a specially painted edition that had.

What some developer needs to do is a helmet or mask for a vr collectors edition that can be used in conjunction as a actual vr headset. Either where you can put your existing vr headset into it or it has a vr headset inside itself and it can be removed to use as a stand alone vr headset.

Love is Over Edition is the only SE from this list I own. Though I have quite a few others that didn't make the cut.

My favorite is the Black ops 3 nugget of edition. It actually come with something I have an actually daily use for. Worth every penny🔥👌🏾

They always get me with CEs. I usually just get Sony 1st party Collector's Eds, but of the ones here, I have Catherine, Witcher 3, and here's the kicker.. so many people slept on Titanfall 2 that I got a regular copy at launch, and less than a year later got the Vanguard Edition for $30.00 on Amazon. Today it is $999.99 on Amazon (and cooler than the Doom helmet, imo). Also Death Stranding's CE with its light-up, life size BB and Ghost of Tsushima should be on the list, I think.

That helmet from 76 did not have mould, that was misinformation that was cleared up almost immediately. This video was made well after this. Great journalism guys.

Another good mask is Corvo's mask from Dishonored 2 Collector's Edition. Other good statues include those from the most recent God of War Collector's edition and Horizon Zero Dawn. Obviously there are the many statues from Assassins Creed games, plus the faux militaria (night vision goggles, drones etc) from the Call of Duty games. Despite the low popularity the Fallout series has now, I still think one of the best Collector's edition items is the Pip-Boy that came with Fallout 4 CE. You could put your phone in it and it would act as your pip-boy whilst you were playing the game... and i did. Great fun.

As far as special editions go the most expensive one I've bought was Persona 5 Royal Phantom Thieves Edition. Art book, soundtrack, little gold art card and a replica Joker mask complete with display stand.

Didn't quite splurge for the collector edition of Falliut New Vegas, but I did get the one just below that came with the collector's edition limited hardback guide. It's pretty damn cool.

I got all five versions on Michael Jackson's album Invincible. I think it's at least something. What it is is that everything else is the same, just the front cover is silver by default, but there also is a red, green, blue, and orange cover.

Hold on now, I bought the superspecialedition of FO76. The power armor helmet that came with it wasn't the mold one, it was the replica that Gamestop sold separately in stores that had the mold lol

I own 4 off this list, it's also started my obsession with statue collecting which has been a VERY slippery slope to be honest

So glad i got the Witcher 3 special edition... I had so many games i didn't play anymore at the time, so when i went to Gamestop in order to buy Witcher 3, i wanted to see what all the games were worth, and i ended up getting the special edition basicly for free! The Geralt griffin statue is probably the figurine i'm most fond off in my collection, next to my Vaas bobblehead from the original Far Cry 3...

I got my hands on Monster Hunter World special edition ps4 a few years ago. The ps4 is decorated with a Rathalos and the controllers blood red with gold. I like it, especially since I'm such a fan of the franchise.

I remember them announcing, then cancelling, the Batmobile edition for Arkham Knight and doing just the regular CE with the Batman/Gotham statue that lit up. And the Death Stranding one? I didn't realize just how massive that BB replica was going to be. Dishonored 2 had a pretty slick mask, as well.. unwearable, unfortunately. There's also when SquareEnix released the collector's edition of Hitman. A collector's edition ... for a, at the time, totally digital and episodic game. Wild. Still, better than Red Dead selling you the CE stuff WITHOUT the bloody game.

There was 2 different product lines with different colors for the fallout helmet and only one of them had it. The first line which had many many more sold was completely fine

I thought I would have seen the Dark Souls 2 Webhallen edition in here. I remember wanting it so bad, but you could only buy it in Sweden and it was like $800 on ebay. Only 740 made. Still wanting it, even though I got the collector's edition

man the Doom Eternal CE sold out so fast before I had a chance to jump on it, same with the Ghost of Tsushima CE. I do have the Death Stranding CE which is pretty cool as BB does light up the Ludens figure could have been done better though for attaching him to the BB or as a regular keychain

Let's not forget the current soundtrack battle that's raging between fans of Doom Eternal and ID pulling the soundtrack they promised because of a falling out with Mick Gordon the literal God of the gaming music world. To this day Mick has yet to release his perfected version to the game soundtrack. If he releases it solo I'll pay whatever for another Doom soundtrack the rages as hard as his first one

FYI the Nuka Cola edition power armor edition helmet is the helmet that has mold not the T51 B edition helmet. That edition just came with the cheap trashy nylon bag that Bethesda admitted their mistake and sent every registered owner of the Fallout 76 power armor edition a canvas bag. Myself included.

I'd think the Lamborghini and the spaceflight that comes with the Saint's Row game would add up close to a million dollars... Lamborghinis range from $200k to half a million on their own, and there's no way that spaceflight is less than half a million... I mean, if I had that kind of money I still wouldn't buy it, but the total value of everything has to be at least somewhat close to the price.
