It was not a last resort. He could have flown up while holding Zod. He could have gone in front of the blast. He could have punched Zod again. He could have flown the citizens away. Snapping his neck was a poor excuse for a last resort.

There is none since heat vision or freeze breath would not have worked such techniques would be too slow, he had to sacrifice himself that way rather than risking another speedster getting infected

Wonder woman has a winning record against Superman a lot of the ground she makes up against him happens mostly in recent Comics. That means the author writing these absurdities is basically greatly unfamiliar with both characters they are writing about, if they actually knew the history of these characters wonder woman would never win. They aren't doing it though for consistency at all but because she is a woman and that doesn't have to get political at all because they reveal that proudly in interviews all the time!

The scene where Superman saves that mentally ill girl is my favorite thing i have seen him done. it always brings me to tears. Both sides of my family struggle with severe mental illness. MY mom's side was rocked twice by tragic death's on my grandma's farm, My grandpa died before i was born. when i was three my 20 year old uncle who everybody loved him that knew him was slowly strangled by a old tractor pto shaft because his shirt got caught in it. He was already dead when my mom found his lifeless body with the tractor just slowing down near my birth home. My mom let's out the loudest horrifying scream she has ever made my dad, hears this bolts out the farm house sprints down get on the tractor and turn's the ignition and applies the break. He looks back sees my mom desperately reach out to my young uncle uncle while the tractor is still in the process of shutting down and he struggles to hold her back for her own safety. My mom and dad haven't slept in the same room in years, she hasn't talked to my grandma in years. my mom's side was always having more serious mental illness than my dad's before those men died. Those accidents are still deeply damaging my family today. im not putting this out as an excuse that is why most of the time when im on here i am being awful to complete strangers

I struggle with mental illness myself, and in one my of delusions, i feared shady men that i think might exist in my community might come after me and kill me and then kill my family and everybody i know. i devise a plan to treat them so bad they disown me so they don't bother to look for me when i go to kill myself thus saving them. i wake up off all meds and continue to stick to this tactic because i think i can protect my family still. i said the most awful things i have ever said to my dad. when i get out my doctor gives me a new medication and i have a severe allergic reaction to it and just barely make it to the emergency room to save myself. My dad picks me up and starts writing something on a piece of paper, because his speech is so inaudible from having oral cancer removed from his tongue. What he wrote was "Are you still my son? I will always love you". seeing him show me that with a feeding tube hanging from his nose damn near kills me. Im doing this not at all expecting sympathy from people i have actively belittled on here. im doing this because what he did there was why i love Superman. i am not scared to provide this personal information, because i suspect the ekg results im getting back from the hospital are going to show im terminal, becuase of my failed attempt kill myself probably destroyed my heart. Im so greatful that i get to spend my dying moments with my dad, family, and friends making up for lost time.

Yeah heat vision wouldn't have worked. His heat vision would be too slow to stop the infected flash. The only attack fast enough is the one being used.

Now, I dipped out of comics a few months after Infinite Crisis, but up through that point in time, most of the fights between Supes and Wonder Woman, even the ones she managed to win, acknowledged his massive power level advantage over her, especially in strength, durability and speed. The fights between Billy and Supes put them on roughly the same level, Supes with a slight advantage in a varied power set (this was before Marvel was shooting lightning out of his hands all the time) and Billy with the slight advantage of magical based powers and resistance. Supes has taken (if I remember correctly) more of the fights than Billy has. Injustice was dumb. It's Superman vs the World Infected with PIS.
