Imagine a restaurant that makes the best burgers in town, but it doesn’t make an effort to promote it strongly enough and very few people know about it! Well, that has pretty much been the case, when it comes to Warner Bros. handling the Batman animated movies. The fans know too well that the Batman animated movie world is a hidden gem that houses some classics. However, many of these fascinating movies ended up being criminally underrated because the promotions were rather disappointing! The animation geniuses at Warner Brothers did a fabulous job, and armed with some entirely original storylines, they were simply unstoppable. Some of these animated movies are adaptations of graphic novels; some are simply stand-alone narratives, while others are set in the universe that has been established in live-action flicks.
We have no doubt in our mind that in many ways the animated Batman movies surpass the live-action attempts. Few other fictional heroes could match up to the caped crusader, from some unforgettable villains to the dark and grim world of Gotham City as the setting. In this video, we bring to you some of these unsung heroes - the stunning movies that could have been insanely popular, if only Warner Bros. Animation treated them as genuine films and arranged for a theatrical distribution! Moral of the story guys: If you are the best at something, make sure you let everyone know about it!

My favorite is Batman Under the Red Hood! Imagine a Batman vs. Clayface story on the same level as Batman Mask of Phantasm or Batman Sub-Zero, it just needs a good SMART Writer!

These might be underrated by people outside DC fandom, but I'm confident we know these movies are classics. DC's animated division has long been smacking around the competition, once they can adapt that to the live movies, we'll have some real winners.

Because Marvel no longer makes animated movies and if they do they are designed for kids only, not for all ages. The last great thing for Marvel in Animation was Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

Batman Assault on Arkham is still the best Suicide Squad movie, imo. James Gunn’s SS was fun but small scale mission fit the Suicide Squad better.

I love that movie, because is reverse of other movies, batman is show like a almost supernatural bogeyman to the villains, and his visual is one of the best , like he came directly from the arkham games!

@@studiomansion7942 I find the main mission in Hell To Pay kind of dumb, what even is the point of finding the “Get out of hell” card for if you still end up dead anyway? Maybe a card that let you escape death once would have been a much better objective and make more sense why Amanda Waller, Vandal and Zoom would be so interested in it.

I'm surprised that Batman mask of the Phantasm isn't here because even though it's considered the best animated Batman film of all time it was underrated because it did poorly at the box out because it got little to no attention at the time but over the years it's totally became popular and considered one of the best Batman movies today so it may not be underrated now but it certainly it was at some point.

I think Batman vs the Ninja Turtles deserves some love too. Also Batman: Sub Zero which could have been very easy to just be ok as a direct to video during the height of The New Batman Adventure's popularity, instead it was a movie that appealed to both fans of the cartoon while having enough of a story to keep one interested in Mr. Freeze's story. Batman vs Two-Face is up there with Batman Return of the Caped Crusader being the last time Adam West would ever voice Batman paired with William Shatner who was the over the top interpretation of Harvey Dent providing a glimpse into what could of been in the 60s if Two-Face had appeared... also a Cameo by Victor Strange and Harley Quinn in some other interesting What-if they had been in 60's Batman. I know Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker and Batman Mask of the Phantasm are both cult hits these days, but I don't think either got the marketing they deserved. I hope one day they can Adapt a movie about the Batman who laughs.

I couldn't have said it better myself. Batman v TMNT and Sub-Zero are just fun rides from start to finish. Of course Return of the Joker is top tier and a favorite of mine, but Sub-Zero is fast paced and emotional without the unnecessary shoehorned Joker appearance from Mask of the Phantasm. But the marriage of Batman and the turtles was a combination I never knew I wanted. The hand to hand combat is unmatched (even elevating the fight scenes of Under the Red Hood and most of not all of the DCAMU)

Return of the Joker got a bunch of marketing in its niche. Sadly Batman Beyond was sorely lacking in comparison to the animated series, and Justice League stole all the development team pretty much and because of this it kind of just died where it was. I still think if Batman Beyond had the same effort put into it as Justice League, it would have been a super heavy banger. Its alright though with some really good gems spotted here and there.

Seeing Batman’s pupils in animation looked awesome and I found it refreshing. We have ALWAYS gotten white pupils on Batman, animated. His pupils are visible in films so why not draw them sometimes?

Personally, I think Batman looks better with the lenses. Aside from an aesthetic thing, it also helps him look more like a supernatural creature to the criminals.

Adam West did not die after Return Of The Caped Crusaders. He died after completing recording his lines for its sequel, Batman Vs. Two-Face.

The late Adam West actually passed away after completing his voice work on Batman Vs. Two Face, which is the sequel to Batman Return of The Caped Crusaders.

That’s because Disney Marvel stopped giving a shit about making good animation. Before Disney Marvel had the potential to compete with DC when they made Planet Hulk and Hulk vs Thor & Wolverine which are still some of the best Marvel animated movies, imo.

Justice league Apocalypse war was the shit. The suicide squad and Lois holding the line was awesome, and having Constantine be the secret dark horse causw of zatanna. Plus, etrigan was hilarious.

The story about Batman and kids is based on a favorite comic story of mine. (I'm guessing.) A backup story from July '73, "Batman" #250 "The Batman Nobody Knows." As always, thank you so very much for your video.

I was ok with Batman Ninja being over the top and outrageous. Batman has had more than a few moments like that. What I wasnt ok with though was how they made him DUMB AS A ROCK in that movie. Joker mustve fooled him a dozen times. Batmans greatest strength is his mind and it wasnt there for that movie. One flick you didnt mention was Batman Meets the Ninja turtles. I LOVE that movie...its still absolutely ridiculous, but all of the characters stay true to what they are supposed to be.

Batman Ninja is definitely all eye candy. The time travel story is ok if it did not suddenly transform everyone into weird ass cosplay version of themselves. They should have just made Batman and everyone else true Japanese rather than Caucasian being in Japan. They could have named him Banji Washirou. And this could be an Elseworld type of storytelling.

I thought that batman ninja was about as good as it possibly could be.... I think its freaking great! Oh btw, I am NOT a fan of Japanese style animation either. I usually dislike pretty much everything within in that genre. If I Liked that movie so much then i would say that someone who is into that style would really be into it...

That "Batman Ninja" 2018 garbage is anything but underrated. If anything, it's exceptionally overrated. The animation is worse than Berserk, the story is cliche and predictable as f**k, not to mention how stupid the time travel is, and the designs are... well I wish they were bland, but that would be several steps up from the fugly garbage we got. Oh and anime Batman is cursed as f**k! It's odd but Batman and anime just don't mix well at all. It completely ruins the atmosphere and feel of it.

Gotham Knight actually takes place between Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. Not after The Dark Knight. P.S. This list lost a lot of cool points once you mentioned Batman and Harley Quinn. That has to be the weakest movie associated with the DCAU. Doesn't belong on any Batman list unless it contains the word disappointing

I gave up on Batman a few nights ago well the new releases at least. Y'all put feminist in the writers room to assassinate Batman. I can get over a bad or disconnected story line because nothing is perfect, however i will never accept Batman being a pussy, crying like a btch, talking abt feelings, getting knocked out by a fckn leprechaun and Catwoman always saving the day..... I hate 2021.
