As RM said, 'We don't know if we have earned respect but this is not just some kind of syndrome, these little boys from Korea are DOING THIS'. I am a regular person. I work 9-5. I have a daughter who is not into BTS. I have loved indie music, rock music and hip-hop/rap all my life but for years now I have listened to and am totally invested in BTS. I can't explain it and people are surprised when I tell them this is my first love and my favourite group, edging above U2 & Coldplay! They don't understand it and I don't even understand it. And I am sure I am not the only one. Their music is a massive part of it, the beautiful lyrics and meanings behind many of their songs, but when you get to know these guys sincerity, hard work and humbleness, you cannot help but love them and want the best for them. And even if it is impossible for them to ever know you exist as an individual you know, as part of ARMY, they want the best for you too.💜

@alipotter0613 I am similar to you, I have children and I love BTS. My teenage years passed long ago and I never even then followed or loved any celebrity. I always thought it was stupid to scream at a concert, imagine paying all that money then not even listening. So I refused to go. Now, as a person of many years I have totally fallen in love with BTS. All seven of them. How did that happen? I can't explain it. Their music, their love for each other, their gorgeous stage concerts... all play a part. The two boys who fell in love played an even bigger part - who hasn't fallen in love with Taekook? BTS are just super and I will always always follow them. I am so happy to be an official Army.

I love your sentiment! It IS perplexing this devotion we ARMY have for OUR guys! I’m 69 in a few days, and I have become an enigma to my friends and family! I can’t really explain how or why this BTS passion is so strong and deep! I teach Zumba to seniors and I ALWAYS have some BTS on my playlists (currently we are grooving to 3D JT Remix and My Universe)! I tell my students “Don’t ask me ANYTHING about them, or else I will drag them all down the rabbit hole and class will be cancelled because that’s all I want to talk about!”😂😂😂 But seriously BTS has brought so much happiness and pleasure to my daily life through their music and antics. Since I don’t have anyone to dish with about them, I just connect with ARMY on soc med, and that makes me happy too. Even if I don’t get many likes, I just enjoy having a space to air some of my thoughts. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

I am 63 years old Army from Germany. I do not have any person to talk about BTS. No one around me would understand me. I preferred R&B, Funk, Soul until the day I came over BTS. 😊 I can understand you 100 %. So, l am looking forward to 2025. Until then, life goes on 💜 Stay healthy.🍀

I'm a 46 year old ARMY from Hungary. and just like so many of us never had an admiration for a musician as much as I have for BTS, even though I grew up with music, it is a substantial part of my life and I did like many artists before, but never been touched to the core by any of them. It is a surreal but very rewarding experience when I read RM's or Suga's lyrics and I just find myself crying, because it is like they see/feel and touch my soul. I have nobody around me who shares my passion, and that's where social media comes into picture. You just feel less lonely and part of a community, even if it's only on virtual platform. I appreciate each and every ARMY and love BTS forever! Borahae

LOL.. I am SO WITH Y'ALL! Almost 60 now, live on West Coast, USA & I found BTS during the 2020 lockdowns, along with Kdramas & then Cdramas. They were referenced in a Kdrama I was watching in March/April 2020, Crash Landing On You. I decided to research & learn more about them. Been hooked ever since. I think I was drawn to them because of their back story. I have always loved a "rise to success from obscurity" kind of story. It shows their grit, courage, perseverance, and loyalty. Plus, their songs are so intelligently & emotionally substantive, that you can't help but love them. Of course, their beautiful souls, gorgeous faces, and awesome dancing help, too. 💜 ARMY for life. My friends & family tolerate my passion for BTS, but they don't quite understand it.

Thank you for the video. Always insightful & instructive. Social media was a tool, like any other, but BTS was the first one to really use it - posts, tweets, videos, lives, song releases, and on & on. They started with their video diaries & allowed access to their world, not just what we see on the stage. Even Suga in an interview said BTS would not have been possible without social media. As you pointed out, in a time when the big 3 were dominating the traditional communication routes, BTS used social media to communicate as a necessity. It ended up being a creative outlet & now everyone is trying to catch up. The only reason I joined Twitter was to follow the news on BTS! Love your videos & thank you!

I had to laugh at the idea “BTS is popular BECAUSE of their personalities and group dynamics, NOT their music, visuals or dance skills!” That one is truly ridiculous! It’s the MUSIC that pulls you in first and foremost! Their music truly defies simple categorization; it appeals to a plethora of demographics all at once; you can appreciate it even without understanding the Korean language, but once you find good translations of the lyrics you fall in love with the music all over again on a deeper level! We’re pulled in by the music, get hyped by the visuals and smoothly precise dance moves, then seek to understand who they are as individuals, which leads us to LOVING them passionately! That writer had the process totally backwards! 😂💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

I’ve always been curious about the people behind BTS because it seems that despite the hardships and the “luck” of finding 7 extremely talented guys, the people behind them seem to have made decisions that turned out well for the group, e.g. activities during the pandemic, the timing of their hiatus and the solo activities that followed. I believe the members’ inputs are actually taken into account. Wouldn’t it be great if you can interview Bang PD or at least the people who have been behind them since the beginning.

Another informative and well explained video. Thank you for all your hard work! What I understand is that BTS is an exceptional group of 7 incredible men. With their dedicated staff, the love and support of ARMY, they have broken barriers to reach levels that no one before them had reached. They have also managed to establish a phenomenal connection beyond music and words with their ARMY, thanks to their endearing personalities and moral ethics. Such achievements unfortunately arouse jealousy, resentment and envy among K-POP fans. But the wonderful thing is that the harder they try to bring down BTS, the more these 7 young men spread their influence and light. I can't wait to watch their Documentary 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜✨✨

Fairlane, I would love to see you do a deep dive on idols and their military service. How many groups had ALL of their members serving at the same time? How do the groups and individual idols fair when they come out, in terms of are they able to pick up where they left off? Do their careers take a hit? If the military service tends to be a negative game changer for the career, do you think BTS will break that trend? I hope you see this. I would LOVE to hear your thoughts on this (or if you have already done it maybe you can post it again).

BTS will break that trend and show how it can be done. It's probably easier for singers than actors to do content 'ahead'. It showcases how other companies failed to support their artists, maybe as a means to keep them shackled to contracts and conditions vs HYBE and BTS work more as a collaboration, looking at the long term game rather than pure financial gain, though in the end, BTS will prove their system is more intelligent and far more lucrative. BTS has the added benefit of a huge and faithful fandom, but still. RM is a "wrecker" and he is breaking apart the system to remodel it: good for artists everywhere!

I really enjoy your insights. One of your analysis was that marketing uses mediums to sell its artists. However, BTS accessed social media to form relationships and interact with fans. Those are two very different approaches!!! I firmly believe that the approach BTS took was authentic; they were themselves. Because of these interactions, the bond that formed between BTS and ARMY is so very strong 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜 BTS and ARMY have shown the world what love means.

I just have to say this, no matter which of your awesome videos are up, I have no connections other than KZfaq. Thank you, my favorite, Fairlaine for your expertise and helping us all understand this crazy industry. Maybe I am just in my “feels’” right now, but I am so worried that our Bangtan Boys are going to the military and will change forever. Jimin has already said in the live that J-hope has changed so much. The BTS that comes out will be very different. They have endeared themselves to us with their wacky crazy antics, and we all connected in a loving way that is unprecedented. I’m so afraid that era is gone forever. Growing and maturing is part of life, and we will love them unconditionally forever. But I morn the days that have passed. No matter what the future brings, those seven are in our hearts forever. I can say that the music will always be amazing.

I always love your insight and support of BTS. I was in tears watching because I know how much hate they got and still get. From the western people and from other Fandoms they just can't except that BTS is the top. I'm am Army 100% I don't listen to others because when I've tried it just doesn't hit the same. Ik others will be on top as years go by but there will never be a group higher then BTS until they do or achieve what they have. 3x SOU The White House Presidential Award something like 26 genis world records but most importantly the messages that are sent. The relationship between fans and artist. None ahs that. It's not all about the singing dancing it's the whole package. It's from litterly crawling from the dirt bottom to the top. Ever artists from the BIG 3 and even after BTS has had backing BTS didn't. BTS is the most humble people I've ever come across. They have said number of times that they won't be at the top forever and that's OK they just want to perform. Matter of fact they are so happy when other groups like Seventeen TXT and so on to break records climb to the top and so on. They WANT others to succeed. and they never wanted to be this big. Like they said they are human too. Suga said there will never be another BTS (and that's the truth, nobody could even if they wanted to reach what they have to the point alot of other groups say BTS broke the door wide open to a cracked open door and paved the way) because you need to be yourselves not BTS. Thank you for ALL of your content.

Thank you once more for an interesting take on the reasons they made 2 3. I think everything you commented on is spot on. I think they chose Social Media not only because Big Hit could not afford normal marketing but an added problem was the big three agencies and their fan bases who were actively working to stop their success. The fans even went as far as petitioning the Blue house when BTS won their first album of the year saying it was rigged! The 3 big companies who have a huge influence over the newspaper and news outlets and variety shows ensured they had little coverage so Social media was a wise decision to go for financial reasons as well as these reasons. The fact that it was instrumental in the growth of their fame must really annoy the big 3 that their strategy to trample them inadvertently helped their success. I also think the fact that they have faced so much hate directed at them and the struggles they have endured and the grit they have shown has made Army more protective and determined not to let these people harm them. This of course would not be so if they did not have that something special which they do. They are seven super talented young men individually but together they are a powerhouse and they know that. They have been happy to show us more about themselves than any other group I know and they are normal, well mannered and humble young men who cook and clean for themselves do their own laundry just like any other young men even though they are multi millionaires. That is what is special about them they are the biggest group ever in my eyes and I am seventy one and have seen them all from the Beatles onwards and they are the best hands down. They have not let it go to their heads, stayed true to themselves, they are dutiful to their country without a second thought never once thinking about exemptions and are philanthropic by nature. This is what sets them apart from the others, and what makes Army so protective as they know and see the truth that the haters cannot and will not see. Looking forward to your further content 💜

Thank you for your informative video! You make it easier for us to understand the world around and within BTS. Your respect and admiration for them doesn’t get in the way of a clear and sensible explanation. I appreciate that so much. How Bang Si-hyuk saw potential in these 7 young boys is miraculously. It wasn’t only their musicality he suspected. Their personalities must have been extraordinary already in those early days. It’s my personal opinion too their epic music, the high quality of writing, beautiful dancing, new ideas, and intelligence that have increased the value of HYBE. I suppose Bang Si-hyuk has the same ability to find the right people to act behind the scenes. All 7 together or solo deserve their success. It’s their accomplishment due to endless effort, hard work and strength to overcome hardship and serious resistance. I will certainly watch the documentary when it will be released on December 20th!!

I LOVE that Big Hit let's us use video and music so freely when making YT, IG, FB, etc. I smile when I upload something and YT automatically identifies it as copyrighted... but instead of blocking it... there is always a note that says that the owner allows it's use. As long as you don't do something really insulting you never hear a problem from Big Hit. I always tag them when doing reels. It makes it so much fun. And it really benefits the artists as well. Only Garth Brooks has been as close with this kind of generosity Eventually it bled into others allowing it in small amounts.

Antis hate BTS because the BTS x ARMY rekationship is authentic and solid, founded by the poetry of music and commitment to achieve the substance of winning rather than by just winning success. What makes BTS x ARMY a powerful force in the global music industry is simply because they live for the substance rather sustainability. BTS x ARMY believe that happiness, in its truest sense, is found in the simpliest things in life in aa much as they help build-up healthy relationship, connection and connectivity.

From an American point of veiw, #BTS is exactly what the world needed at the exact time. We loved how the guys brought the world together threw music spreading LOVE. They seemed to have brought the generations gap closer, i know i can be in a car with my grandchildren and any of the guys songs come on, we all jam to it. I have even seen where cultures are now being explored and igniting a passion for educating themselves on the diversity have humanity. From a girl who seen Woodstock come to life it's almost a rendition of seeing that again and it's exactly what this world needed was BTS my only hope is that saying only this one or that one can ne an army is wrong. We ALL can be army, just as there's room for ALL artists to share in the glory of reaching the world. Remember its about Love of humanity no matter race color creed. The best has yet to come. Thanks #BYS for reminding us that we are one together in this big 🌎 💜

I as an Australian i cant understand the Asian culture ,that is so into collective shaming that the members of bts would never even consider not serving as it would cause an uproar that they got special treatment. The last time we had conscription in Australia it was during the Vietnam war and there were marchers in the street against war ,there was a special mothers against war group, Australia sent almost all of its infantry to the Korean War but no conscriptions, but there was conscription during the Vietnam war.

When you're at the top, the spotlight is on you, and people will try to knock you down. What's worse than being talked about is NOT being talked about. Quite possibly Providence that it was BigHIt, that it was Bang SiHyuk, that they didn' have the funds to market. They would still be huge with $$$ marketing, simply bc of their talent and hard work. But the secret sauce, the alchemy, the magic started when their sweet little faces are talking/sharing with us, raw.

Hello, thank you for every video you create, I follow them with great pleasure because each content is documented, rationalized and has cursive ideas. I, a mature woman with families, jobs and responsibilities, have more than once asked myself why I like BTS? The answer is very long. If I had to summarize in a few words, it would be that they have for every person in this world what they each need: music, lyrics, depth, culture, intellectuality, seriousness, message, fun, entertainment, they are a real "magic store" where each person enters and leaves with something significant for them. This explains the large number of those who love these seven people, for whom the stars gathered to form a fascinating constellation. Thank you for your content and I wish you and everyone all the best to surround you every day.

I love your talks and explanations!💜any and /or no kind of marketing will hold for long without talent as a foundation. BTS has proven time after time their talent, both as a group and as solo artists are undeniable. They have the best vocals, the best rappers, great music with a message and more than 3 chord changes, by far and away the best dancing. I'm not a fan of pop music really much at all But BTS is the exception for me. This is not a simple answer to why, for me it started with their vocals. Dynamite which is not a song I would have paid any attention to. What got me, two things, Jimin's unique voice and range, and that key change! I did a look around you tube, a bit of reading and 24 hrs later, I was baby silver ARMY. I'm thankful for all 7 of them every day, and for ARMY.

It doesn't matter how much hate messages they get. This is the time of all around hate messages. Nothing like has been seen for decades. Bts members help people on earth more than any politician can do. Let them do they work.

It's ridiculous how they hate on them just cause they are popular

I would really love to post a factual comment but every time I do on stuff about BTS & the American Music Industry it gets taken down by who knows.. I'm an American living in Kansas and if you want to know the truth about the American Music Industry just go watch their music videos. If you have eyes to see and ears to hear, their lyrics you will know everything... and none of it is good and there are videos of so many musicians that have came out and said what drives the industry but I'm sure another countries you cannot see these videos..tick tock....

And I am also ARMY and pray everyday that these seven angels stay far away from the American Music Industry as possible because it is toxic. Full stop.

Kansas! I am going there.👋🏽 any place you would recommend I visit? Also, I think more and more people are coming forward re child/teen stars abuse on Hollywood. I hope the guilty pays.

It seems that all those accusations are from people or groups trying to maintain their control over their territory in different ways, fan groups, entertainment cos., USA music industry’s dominance both in USA and globally etc. It generates more intense passion from fans but also a constant battle against persecution., most of which BTS has to bear. 😢
