As a black woman with relaxed hair, I had been struggling with significant hair breakage until I came across your channel. Discovering your recommendations for fine hair products was a game-changer for me. Since I started following your advice, my hair has undergone a remarkable transformation. Not only have I been able to retain noticeable growth, but the overall texture and quality of my hair have never been better. I'm floored by how much my hair has changed so quickly. I've avoided heat for over ten years and only washing every 2-3 days but my ends were still dry and I could never make my hair look good after Day 1. I've been incorporating your tips the last couple of months (leave in conditioner, hair oil, and shampooing my scalp instead of hair), and it's been making some difference, especially in my ends . Finally took the plunge and bought Redken Volume Injection (on sale at Ulta right now, if anyone sees this), as well as the redken blowout cream. WHOA! Washed my hair Day 6. I'm on Day 3 of my second time using it and it's incredible. It's a huge difference in how clean my hair feels. Dry shampoo works better and I have more volume than I've ever had in my life. My Day 3-4 hair looks better than my usual Day 2 hair. Thank you for all the work you've done to find the products that actually work, and how to use them correctly. I have learned more from you (that actually works) in the last couple of months than I've learned in my entire life, and believe me Ive tried to learn. Amazing!

The main ones I switch off between are batiste (the original one) and a homemade one (corn starch & cocoa powder mix). The homemade one works the best for me but you can definitely feel it in your hair more. The other one I've had good luck with is by R+Co and has micellar water. That one seems to work well later in the week after I've used powder ones. I have not tried the one recommend on this channel yet, just trying to get through my stash first. They're all working better than they did when I used drugstore shampoos, but the three I mentioned have been the best so far.

At first I was scared to follow your recommended products list as I’d already spent tons of money to take care of my hair and always ended up not seeing emprovements. But I still decided to give it a try by buying just the volume injection shampoo and conditioner since I had both the olaplex oil and the redken bonding treatment to follow your washing routine. I can happily say it was a huge investment. I’ve been happy with the results so far and haven’t bought any hair product since except for the leave in conditioner. I tried to compare how much money I spent with your few recommended products and all the old ones I’ve bought but never used in YEARS. I found out I’ve spent far more on cheap products I used just a couple times than on those few really great ones that are now a must-have for me. Thank you so much for saving my hair and my wallet!

For people who have actual dandruff, (not dry flakes) and workout a lot on top of that, going three days between washes is usually not an option. I tried that, got a dandruff flare up. However, the rest of your tips have worked really well for me. Ever since I started using the pureology leave-in and oil, my hair has been growing much, much faster. When I saw my daughter got dandruff (or something looking like dandruff), I told her we need to reconsider her hair routine. I started washing her again myself and it would go away, but she would come back from visiting her grandparents, it would come back. I realized it was other the products or the washing technique, and we were able to eliminate it completely. Turned out, she was washing her hair and not the scalp.

Ooookay, I will admit that I have subscribed, binged watched your videos and am now on my way to buy #1 shampoo from your 2022 recommended list to start off my healthy hair washing, caring snd styling routine. Being in my thirties I am finally getting serious about growing my hair out longer and stronger and basically better. My doctor also has advised me to finally deal with asiderosis and lack of B vitamins - which also shows in severe hair loss. Having healthy hair is so much more than a beauty standard thing, it is about confidence, self worth and health. Thank you for your output. Appreciate it very much.

awesome tips, thank you! Over the last year I've gone from daily washing, blow drying, ironing, to two washes/styles a week and followed many of the tips you shared! Question - what's the best way to keep longer fine hair from getting dry between washes? light oil on the very bottom/ends is useful but the mid-shaft area of my hair gets dry and frizzy. I've tried spritzing with water, but because I use a tapered wand on my sets to get waves, adding water trashes the style.....

I wish I knew about your channel earlier, it would save me tons of money to figure out the same! I used to have very short hair, I couldn't grow it below my shoulders and I didn’t use any heat, coloring, bleaching, etc. Now, when I use your routine (after it cost me a lot of money for useless products to figure it out by myself) my hair is below my waist line now, I bleach it once a year and I dye the roots every about 6 weeks. I use iron about twice a month as I work from home and I’m not too bothered but it is true that ironed it lasts longer and of course it looks better. I use Redken 11 with low hold as 22 is not offered here. The only thing I can’t do it to blow dry my hair as my hands now are short for it, instead I use an hot brush (not air) before the iron. The only thing I can’t yet figure out is how to get rid of the warm tones. I have all yellow, orange and red hues so I’m trying different combinations of toners…. It is damn slow as I wash it every 7 to 9 days now and I often end up with bluish or greenish hair, ones with reddish but that was OK. 😁

Due to a medical condition (psoriasis) there are times where I just have to wash my scalp every other day. I hate it and sometimes try to stretch it to two days but then my scalp would get this plaques where the scalp is rough and kinda thick and itches like hell 😢 But nevertheless, using your tips my hair still is shiny and growing. Without your 'holy trinity' my hair would still be dry and dull with split ends how it used to be for so long.

I had to wash my hair everyday, mandatory because it gets dirty and causes horrible irritation. Even after your recommendations, I had to wash the hair everyday. Ended up being that I wasn’t getting it clean enough. I needed a stronger shampoo or shampoo twice with a volumizing shampoo. Now I can wash every other day. It’s a huge thing for me, I still cannot go longer than that or my scalp gets painful. Edit: yea I use, Redken clarifying shampoo cream 1 or 2x week for first wash, then Boston for other times or second wash.

I personally haven’t washed my hair enough for years and I’m no longer sure how often it should be washed. I’ll go weeks to over a month without washing it because I got sick and out of the habit when I entered my teens since I was unable to shower (could only bath because of a central line). My hair lasts fairly long without getting super oily and I generally just cave in and wash it then because I know it looks and feels awful but I’m glad I’ve been watching your videos and haven’t decided to washing my hair daily. I’ll hopefully be able to finally get back into a good routine with my hair this year and feel good about it for the first time in over a decade. Thank you!!!

I switched to a professional shampoo (my Salon sells Eufora) in March and started washing about twice a week from my previous every other day washing with OGX. My hair is naturally greasy. My hair is looking much healthier. Unfortunately, now, I am getting a dry, itchy, flaky scalp to go with my greasy scalp, but I can go a bit longer between washes then I used to. Suggestions? The itchiness and flakes are driving me nuts. The flakes aren't terrible, but they are there and seem to be mostly towards the front of my head.
@WynneL
@WynneL Жыл бұрын
I have the same issues; scalp gets oily easily but can also get dry and flaky when I start double-washing with pro shampoo. Coconut oil treatments turned out to be my answer. For me, I rub my scalp all over with the stuff and leave it to work its way into my skin at least a half an hour before I shampoo. The stuff seems to soak in there. I've had like no flakes ever since I started doing this, and the best part is that it's so cheap. I do it like once a week or so, but if you're really getting lots of flakes, it might be worth it to do this more. Coconut oil is amazingly un-greasy compared to most oils.

My scalp went the other way round. It was alright whilst I was washing my hair everyday, for nearly 40 years. Meanwhile I wash my hair only once a week, with the help of non drugstore shampoo and dry shampoo once or twice a week. Greasywise my scalp is fine but the back of my head is getting flaky and itchy quite often. I never used to have that problem whilst I was washing my hair everyday. I mean, don‘t get me wrong. I‘m quite chuffed that I can get away with washing my hair only once a week. (especially the time I saves me in the morning!)I just wish the back of my head wouldn‘t get flaky and itchy. Any advice would be lovely.😊

Does the length and thickness of your hair effect the oiliness or dryness?

I've tried going more than 2 days but on the second day i start looking greasy especially my fringe. I've found dry shampoo has started to irritate my scalp. I do use your fine hair recommendations.

How long does it generally take to train your hair (to produce less oil between washes)?

Hi! Your videos and recommendations are amazing. Due to the heat wave I end up every day with my hair wet because of the sweat, so eventhogh I have been trying there is no way I can go more than one or two days without washing. Any advice for trying to do the least damage possible?

I love the techniques you mention. Tried the redken shampoo and made my scalp super dry and flaky. Not saying it’s bad but just must be too harsh for my skin. Sent it back. Honestly the best shampoo I’ve tried is the nutrafol shampoo and conditioner. It’s gets my hair so clean without being harsh and my scalp feels so much better. It’s pricey but worth it and it is free of silicones parabans ,sulfate free etc. It works so well for me. Putting it out there in case someone else had any irritation from the redken like me. 😊

You have single handedly changed my hair game! Thank you! I have a question (or for anyone who is a hair professional that can answer this please!) - how do you know when your heat protectant is working properly? Thank you again!! ❤- Natalie
@BlowoutProfessor
@BlowoutProfessor Жыл бұрын
That's awesome! Really tough question though... (I'm assuming you mean thermal protectant) There's no "instant" way to tell it's working because it's mostly preventative. The main things you're looking for are 1) The product is light in the hair and you can't feel it. 2) Your iron work lasts longer and shinier 3) Your hair should show no signs of damage/breakage.

I think that there are more factors in play - I follow your rules religiously, switched to Redkin Volune Injection shampoo long ago but still need to wash every other day. And I wouldn't survive day 2 without dey shampoo and with my hair down😢 I think it's because I have fine hair combined with PCOS (oversensitive to testosterone) so there is an increased sebum production and also I sweat way more than average (not only during physical exercise but sometimes even while having a conversation). I mean, there is some progress because at least my hair is super clean on day 1 while in the past when I was still using drugstore shampoos, it would get oily even on the day of washing. So even though my situation is still far from ideal, it did become a little more manageable with washing every other day. Thank you, Chris 😊❤

Hi! Thank you so much for all the education! Would you have other product recommendations for blow dry heat protectants other than the Redken big blowout? It is super difficult to find it where I live :/ (European country)

I have the problem that i don't know if my hair is thick or medium because it gets oily quickly but my scalp and ends are sometimes very dry. Maybe my hair as a whole is thick but every single strand is medium. Also my hair needs a lot of everything but when i put too much it looses its volume and it's really not easy to put shape into my hair. It's just complicated to explain

my hair is healthy expect for the hair that grows from my neck (so the lowest layer of my hair) it’s extremely dry and i have split ends. i don’t know what to do because i already try to follow all your tips. they worked wonderful on my other hair, but that part seems to be completely different from the rest of my hair :( can you do a video on why that is and what i can do? also another question, if i put hair oil into my hair on day 1, can i still style my hair with heat after that? i heard heat damages the hair more if there’s oil in it

Hi Blowout Professor, what do you think about derma roller and hair serums?😅❤

I have a few questions/ doubts about all this. If you or anyone else could answer them, I'd be happy. About my hair: Mixed textures, long. If I divide my hair horizontally into two sections one can see: the upper one is more coarse and wavy (curly in the front); the bottom part is wavy (some parts are straight) and very soft. My hair is dry. During the summer, it becomes even more dry. I exercise every day. I go to the gym 3 times a week (and I go hard, I do pull ups, heavy weigth lifting, I sweat like a pig!) and taekwondo 2x a week. Since I sweat so much, I wash my hair every day or every two days (now that's winter here in Brazil). If I don't do anything, I can wash it like... once a week. I use more ecofriendly and natural shampoos, but I intercalate with Redken all soft and Moroccanoil. My point is: How can I have beautiful natural hair (just my waves and curls) without washing it every day if sweat so much???
