BUT there are a ton of smoothie mistakes that I see everyday that are causing you to gain weight. I used to have a smoothie with 2 whole bananas, 2 tbsp of peanut butter, a scoop of vanilla protein and water, it sure did help me gain weight!

@Cali Girl have you tried peanut flour? I love doing the same thing, adding a bit of water and a pinch of mineral salt to make a peanut "butter". If you're concerned about sugar, there is some in PB2. You can get pure defatted peanut flour from Amazon (I buy Protein Plus brand, it's great). No added sugar.

Your welcome- 1- Don’t use fruit juice base, instead use an unsweetened nut milk base. 2- Don’t use too much protein, use one serving recommendation on a good quality protein. 3- Don’t add Raw kale to your smoothies. It causes bloating and digestion issues. (if you want to use kale in your smoothies then steam and freeze for later) 4- Fats are important and should be included in your smoothie. 5- While you should include some fruit, too much can cause increased insulin. 6- Have varieties! Alternate fats, proteins, fibers and more. 7- Include spices in your smoothie. Cinnamon can reduce insulin and there are many spices that are anti-inflammatory. 8- Make sure your nut butters don’t have extra ingredients like sugar. 9- Make sure you are getting unsweetened nut milks. 10- You don’t need to keep smoothies low calorie. Having a good balanced smoothie can limit snacking throughout the day.

Raw kale is hard to digest but blending it definitely helps. Fruit sugar is an energy source. Big difference between store bought oj and fresh squeezed. Put fresh juice in your smoothies. My favorite is to do nutmilk base with squeeze of lemon or orange for taste.

Kale, Ginger, Carrot, Half Apple, Spinach, Almond Milk, Blueberries, teaspoon Turmeric and a tablespoon Vanilla Greek Yogurt. Works for me, been my go to for over a year now. Cycle Kale in and out. Great video. Subbed. Found you through the WheezyWaiter Fasting video.

I just use plain water in my smoothie I use to put protein powder in my smoothies but it upset my stomach so for protein I just put Greek yogurt in my smoothies and it is really delicious and sometimes my family will try a little bit of my smoothie there love it ❤💜💖💗😋😋 I love your video's there are really helpful and I want to thank you Autumn ❤💜💖💗

Thank you thank you thank you. I was getting so frustrated looking for smoothie videos for weight loss and the base was fruit juice and tons of fruit and a small amount of greens. I'm a keto person and it was a no no for me. I don't understand how they can say weight loss and not promoting berries because they are low glycemic fruits. And the risk of using too much protein. This was such a helpful video with getting my brain in the right place to start using smoothies. Again, thank you.

Hi Autumn. If I work out in the morning, and then at night I walk home from train station (1.5 km), is it still counted as working out twice a day? My period is late and I wonder if the cause is I over trained..

If kale doesn't bother you in your smoothies keep using it. Try reducing amounts too. Or going half spinich and half kale.

I make 2 portions ( me and mom) - 2 glass milk with 4 tbsp chia seeds in the evening and in morning I blend 1/3 frozen banana + 5 frozen strawberries + 5 pecan nuts + 1/3 tsp spirulina. I used to put vanilla and stevia but now I think this is sweet enought as I reduced sugar intake :)

Yeah....definitely been adding a small handful of raw spinach to my smoothies.... Does spinach pose the same threat as raw kale as far as GI distress? Do you suggest omitting it?

I have been concerned that I've always used baby spinach as my main green in my smoothies. I read recently that it is a high oxalate that can cause kidney stones.

I like water base. Celery, carrot, beets, and cucumber, then I like to add 3 or 4 frozen mango chunks which makes it slightly sweet but really slightly. I add 2tsp of milled flax seed too.

I use almond milk. We use avocado's sometimes in our smoothies but we drink smoothies every single day. It gives me so much energy. Hey autum is it true that you shouldn't eat late at night like after 11 or 12 pm? I was always wondering if that is just a myth or if there is something true to that. Thanks.

Autumn! I love all your info. Question: what protein powder do you recommend? Im not vegan, just wondering which you think is all around highest quality for your IF lifestyle? Also, does ACV sipper after smoothie mess up not eating between meals?

Pick a brand preferable grain fed and choose isolate very low fat or concentrate high fat content or a hybrid of the two. I use a Kosher chocolate whey call All Whey Classic... $24 CAN. Good luck. Oh there is also Casine which is the body slowly digest as suppose higher synthesis of the other types

*In my smoothie I put almond milk, one banana, and a couple blueberries. Is this fine?Also I think I’m going to start adding spinach or black chia seeds*

Thats what I do! but recently swapped it for oat milk. Highly recommend tastes so good and creamier. Oh and I just add a bit of peanut butter :)

Love your video! One thing you said raw kale is hard to digest but just like the fruit is blended up and pre digested the kale would be too so that wouldnt be an issue right?

No wonder why I gained more weight 😭😭 but now I need desperate help ... what would you recommend to don’t gain weight during pregnancy ? Or which smoothies should I take to lose weight since my BMI it’s super high! I’m obese !

When you pulverize raw kale in a blender/Nutribullet/etc., is it still really hard to break down? Seems like it's great at keeping you regular.

It doesn't bother me when I ninja 1 5 cups into my fruity protein with healthy fats smoothie. I can swim 4 or 5 hrs on my smoothie. I think every body is different as to how they metabolize foods. There is no one correct and perfect diet that fits all bodies.

I often use kale in my Nutribullet since it lasts longer than spinach. Like Autumn said, it's one to consider not using if you have things like ibs and crohn's. my father for instance has a hard time with kale and broccoli. too rough for him.

Hi! A great way to ensure this is by doing the “self grind” PB + AB. I get mine from Whole Foods and it works out great!

Hi Autumn. I am new to smoothies and I would love to make 1 smoothie/day as a meal replacement so that I can lose weight in a healthy way. I have questions about whey protein and using whey protein, collagen, and oatmeal in my smoothies so that I can keep the hunger and sugar cravings under control. My concern is like what you mentioned in your video about getting too much protein that then turns it into carbs. I like your take on not using whey and instead using hemp hearts and chia seeds. I would love to get your take on it both from a nutritionist's standpoint as well as a woman. I know that a woman's protein needs differ from a man's needs.There is a guy on a video putting together a smoothie with whey,chia,flax seeds,spinach,4tbsp of oatmeal, mixed frozen fruit, peanut butter, and almond milk. He's not a nutritionist and I just want to know what the right way is for a healthy meal replacement smoothie that I can change out the fruit, nut butter, and nut milk when I want something different, but yet is still good for my body, gives me the protein I need, keeps the hunger away, and helps me stick to my weight loss goals.
