It's ironic how much hate Ana gets for being anti woman empowerment when she's literally teaching women to upgrade their lives through the ways that worked for her....she genuinely has our best interests at heart
@Briae
@Briae 4 жыл бұрын
Exactly! Modern feminism-she still has her own successful brand, business, hobbies, and is very independent. She just wants a certain level for men. If a woman is improving herself, why can't men? She is not saying don't work, just date men who make your work optional.

Yeah, you are right. I do not understand what is women empowerment anymore if the traditional things such as cleaning and cooking are excluded. My mother (one of the most elegant women I know) would wake up, do her hair and makeup and put on a beautiful lounge wear set and clean the house. I asked her when I was little (after seeing friends’ moms who most decidedly did NOT dress for housework) why she did this. She told me that personal appearance and manners should be something you do for yourself, to feel good for your own self esteem. The side effect of that was that my brother and I got to learn refinement as a normal way of life and I have thanked her profusely over the years for her example! Ladies, your children watch you most when you are behind closed doors and you are doing them a tremendous service by being an example and making manners and elegance a way of life for them. My mother grew up very poor and although I never met my grandmother, my mom always said her motto was that she may not have the best of everything but everything she had would be the best she could possibly make it. My mother and father worked their way up from humble beginnings and I think those lessons that were ingrained in my mother (and my father as well) had a lot to do with that. We are not tremendously wealthy by any means, but I can walk into higher society and be very confident thanks to the care my parents took to instill those manners in me!

She is right, you don't need to be a full blown millionaire to do elegant things. I don't have much money to spend on buying flowers every week BUT I grow my own flowers and I make sure to trim and keep them neat looking, not empress others but to make myself feel accomplished and happy. It's not always about money or acting like you better then someone, it's about how you respect yourself and know your worth and expressing that through your actions. That's what I learn from watching Ana.

The jewelry brand Mejuri advocates that their items should be the first thing on when you leave the house and the first thing to be removed once you arrive home. I WANT to wear lovely, little pieces when I’m home alone. I enjoyed this video and am looking forward to seeing more of her content. Love & Light from Miami ✨✌🏼 Stay safe everyone!

My rule of thumb is "Use items that are timeless". It's easy to get carried away by the current trends that come up every day. With time they become outdated, and they tend to fall apart if they weren't constructed properly. You don't have to get extremely expensive antiques if you can't. But think it through and see if whatever you're buying will carry you through the seasons, and if it will still be appropriate when you're older

I watched this video 5 months ago when it was first published, and it has resonated soooo well. I did everything you listed either 80%-100% of the time elegantly, except for one - talking to/yelling at others in different rooms. Since watching this video several months ago, I have completely stopped yelling to someone in a different room or part of the house or property or office and have instead walked over to that person to speak whatever I was going to say in person. I had even forgotten where I had learned to do it. And I honestly have been wondering where I did learn of from for a while now. Silly me, of course Anna taught me! In any case, it has completely evolved my habits for the better! :) Thank you kindly, Anna

I love my mother dearly, but when I was growing up she was going through her own issues with relationships and her career, and she didn’t take much time to teach me these essential lessons. I don’t use these videos to level up a man, I’ve already found one that I will spend my life with. We aren’t the elite class, but I know that learning to be more elegant will benefit my relationship and my life.

I come from a 3rd world country and i grew up appreciating the little things and not worrying about how i will be percieved. People don't love you for your etiquette people love you for just being you and if they don't accept you for who you are even if that means drink water out of a bottle slouching on the couch, no etiquette whats so ever then they just aren't real friends. And if people have time to have etiquette values then great but 1) don't shon people who don't and 2) man you are missing out on just being a free spirit.

I agree with your tips, although I'm a maximalist, an artist and collector. People are surprised that I can have so much stuff but my place doesn't look cluttered. That's because the collections are curated and grouped by color or theme and thoughtfully displayed. I'm a visual person, which means I'm a piler, not a filer. It's taken me years to figure out how to have everything on display but not look like a nightmare. But I never let my children eat in front of the TV and their phones had to be put away for meals, too! Oh, and the posture thing--it's important because sitting in a hunched or slouched position is very bad for your spine and shoulder/neck muscles. You can develop a permanent hunch and it can give you debilitating shoulder and back pain you'll need treatment for.

Wow. You are so right. I lost 20 pounds in about 4 months by making small changes. One change I made was I quit eating while watching TV. Also, I started putting my utensils down between bites, and started chewing my food properly as well. I eat less, dont suffer from nausea and heartburn anymore, and I feel better after dining in general. I have never lived an affluent lifestyle, however my mother used to tell me that a lack of money is no excuse for a lack of class. We are in control of our actions and reactions. It does not cost anything to be courteous and easy to be around. Money helps, however, it does not cost tons of money to put effort into your appearance. I didn't win the generic lottery, but trying to be the best version of myself, I feel, is worth the effort. I think that it is so sad that women neglect themselves because they think if they care about these things and work on these things that they are being selfish and foolish. I think it's just the opposite. I believe that you can't pour from an empty pitcher. I think when you take good care of yourself, that you can take better care of others also. Although I have never lived an affluent lifestyle, I have been around affluent people quite a bit, because when I was in college I was a singer and I studied Opera, so that is why I was around affluent people. I don't know if I was just too dumb to feel uncomfortable around them, but I never really felt uncomfortable around them, and they didn't seem to feel uncomfortable around me, so maybe I was doing something right LOL. I will be honest, when I first started seeing your videos on KZfaq, I thought that you were going to be snobbish. I was so wrong. I just love your videos, and I appreciate them so much.

My mother taught me almost everything you talk about on your channel. She taught me that good manners were all about making others feel respected and comfortable. And if you let this slide at home alone then you get so comfortable that you run the risk of letting your good manners slide when you are not alone. And also you should treat yourself as nicely and as respectful as you treat others. PS I hate fake flowers too! And at the moment I can't afford fresh flowers but I forage the area for pretty fall leaves or pinecones etc. to grace our table. Of course due to Covid we are not planning to have guests anytime soon BUT we deserve a nice arrangement of natural things too. So I forage our yard and I ask neighbors for pinecones because it is fall. PPS. My very gracious and elegant mother would have loved your channel as much as I do!

The elegant lifestyle is all about self-respect and valuing one's self. Some people will not be able to comprehend this lifestyle. For me, it means the world as I was brought up in an abusive home and never felt valued, cherished, or loved, much less shown respect. Practicing this lifestyle has taught me self-love and how to truly value one's self. So thank you, Anna Bey. For me, these videos have more value than a topical application. They have a deep meaning and speak to the little girl that feels broken within to value herself and cherish herself.

I found this channel unintentionally, but I'm having a great time watching it. I actually got surprised while watching this particular video because I do all of those things since I remember, but all the other members of my family do the exact opposite.

I have never heard about the toilet paper 😂, never even crossed my mind to used it elsewhere other than the washroom lol

I was thinking the same thing. I'm not very elegant but I don't know anyone that actually useses toliet paper as a napkin and a paper towel. I feel good I'm at least doing one elegant thing well without even knowing it 😏

I'm guilty hahahaha I always have a toilet paper next to my bed, and use it as kleenex because sometimes you don't need a full kleenex :( hahah

Talk about hitting home! I was watching this at my desk, in a dress, but bare footed and cross legged, with my head resting on my hand. I am so embarrassed! Anna, your videos are changing my life! Thank you so much!

I love how you drag me for my actions without ever making me feel like you're judging me as a person. I really appreciate all the work you do and how you continue to speak up about the things you care deeply about despite it feeling uncomfortable or the backlash you get for it 💕

Thank you Anna . I am learning and taking you very very serious. I like the ideal of living and behaving elegant. I think it make me more relaxed and I also think it’s not about the out space but for the soul it gives structure… that’s how I feel … ❤️❤️❤️

I pride myself on how much of this is intuitive! My downfall is being a clutter-bug. Over the past three years, though, I've been throwing many things away; trying to de-clutter as much as possible! And it's having a positive on my mental and physical well being.

I'm not really striving for elegance, but I like to watch your videos sometimes. I drink water from the bottle at home sometimes if it is already in the bottle (0.50l), because I see no point of using an extra glass which will just add to doing more dishes. Also, being from Southern Europe comes with being louder, although I am not really loud when I think about it compared to a lot of people 😅

This video is the one that has influenced me the most. I'm guilty of doing everything you point out as being inelegant. When I'm home, I immediately behave in a way that will maximize my comfort. I realize that all my at home behaviors are in need of an upgrade. Thank you for the video.

@@silencedogood9747 this is a rule for trophy wives whose main job is to be attractive and "elegant", not real world wives. She probably would tell you not to tend to your terminally ill husband in the hospital because it's not elegant.

@@ShaferHart lol I know right? Sooner or later though, trophy wives have to be "real people" in some way, shape or form. You can't be with someone any length of time and not be.
