People from the Midwest or Northeast will scoff because sub zero is rare, but Northern Nevada can get quite cold, and for much of the year. It doesn't usually snow a whole lot at any one time, but measurable snowfall has been recorded every month of the year except July.

I've lived in Reno for almost 20 years...I would tell you to avoid downtown. Go to the GSR, Pepper-mill, or Atlantis for quality gaming.

Yep, it's a bummer. It is cheaper when compared to California though, and I think that justifies the cost for a lot of people.
