Native Texan here. My first time to visit NY was this last Christmas. I watched all your videos about how to ride subways, avoid scams, and planning the best things to see as a first-timer and felt like a pro at getting around NYC. My wife told our friends when we got back to Texas she felt like she lived there because we got around so smoothly and didn't fall victim to any scams or traps. Also, City Mapper is the best! I bought one of your Manhattan t-shirts from Teespring. I think you do excellent work and we plan on coming back this December for a second time to see more stuff you recommended from your videos like Little Italy on Arthur Ave. Something interesting about me is I worked in a hotel in downtown Fort Worth in the early 90's as a room service waiter and I met the actors Luke Perry and Michael Keaton serving them room service when they stayed for movie filming scenes.

I worked in the city for Mc Graw Hill Publishers. Then on the weekends would go into the city for shopping, theater, the village, etc. so many things to do. I moved to a small town in SE Georgia (Alma). My husband lived there, we met in Ft. Laurdedale. I have been living in the south for almost 30 years. I do get homesick sometimes but your trips around the city helps. I am retired from the Insurance Business, I have two sons and three grandchildren. In August I will be reaching a milestone as I will be 70 years young. Some days I wonder were has the time gone. Keep up the great videos. God bless you and your beautiful wife.

Hello, this is Heike from Germany. I came across your channel by accident because I am a big fan of New York City and actually spend at least a week in the wonderful city every year. I think your videos are very successful, I too have had cancer and defeated it. That's why I can very well imagine how hard it must have been for you to get this message. I warmly congratulate you on your three year anniversary and keep my fingers crossed that you will stay healthy and that you can shoot many more videos about New York City.

Great video Jon..i really enjoyed learning more about your life's story. You have a natural gift behind the camera and definitely would have made a successful career sports broadcasting. Now, you've channeled your talents here as a wonderful NYC vlogger. Keep up your labor of love and thanks again for sharing.

This was uploded on my birthday last year, when I couldn't imagine I will be visiting NYC for the first time this year. Thank you so so much for your videos. I will take every piece of advice you gave us for my 7 day stay. Hope to bump into you on the streets and thank you in person and maybe help you take the dust of your Spanish (I'm not sure if this phrase is ok, sorry) Hugs from Argentina!!

Awesome that you're 3 years cancer free! 😊 A fact about me: I'm from the UK, I've been to NYC 3 times but this October my partner and I are booked to visit. It's her first time visiting and it has been a lifelong dream for her to visit the city, so I'm hoping things are going to be a little more normal by then so I can show her an amazing time there. 9.5 hours on planes to get there!

I'd say while the sports broadcasting gig did end, you're definitely still a big media personality with this channel. Your videos are well-researched and very informative. I also think your clear speaking and easy production (must be the broadcasting background) is what attracts and retains viewers.

Wow what a story! One thing I am learning as I journey through life is that everyone has a story. You were a small-time sportscaster, became a world-traveler, became a local NYC documentarian, you survived cancer and took a bullet to the knee and you're still able to walk! (btw your Ukranian-Jewish ancestors are watching over you.) Everyone's got a story.

Hi, I'm from Peru, your channel is super interesting, I discovered it looking for information about New York. I have already been there twice, and it is truly my favorite place in the world. I was hoping to go a third time, but unfortunately through COVID my plans were canceled until further notice. I hope to go soon and follow your advice to get to know this beautiful city better. Your channel is very good, I congratulate you! Greetings from Lima, Peru.
