Hmm, my mom belongs to that group of people from 1975 who doesn’t have a birth certificate as My Tho (her home town) wasn’t that developed back then. I wonder if there is still ways via tea money or such to get such an evidence that she was born or used to live there. She has a paper that verified by the vietnam court that she her mother and sister are Vietnamese proven by DNA test thus have Vietnamese root. I wonder if you still could help her out even though it’s a long way. Especially, I also need to wait for her to apply first like you said in the video, since I was born outside Vietnam.

Are you saying that I who got parents that came to Norway as refugees, and i was born and raised in Norway in 1988. I can apply for a vietnamese passport/cityzenship? I have never been in Vietnam, but gping for the first time in just 6 days to Da Nang. I am not happy In Norway after 35 years, and looking for an escape back to my mother country. Vietnam is in my blood, heart and soul, I love the culture. I do got 2 uncles and 1 auntie who moved back to Vietnam from Norway around 12 years ago. They live in Rạch Giá and Nha Trang. Can i have both a Norwegian Passport and Vietnamese Passport, so i can stay long term in Vietnam without applying for visa? IM SO SRY, THIS IS SO NEW TO ME!

I left Vietnam when I was 12. I have a very old certificate but don't have national ID card or hộ khẩu, however I have a 5 years visa to Vietnam. Will these documents sufficient to get a Vietnamese passport and how fast is the process with these documents?

So once you get your passport, do you have to go back to VN to apply for the family book and National ID ? Can you just apply them remotely from the US?

So the minute you get married to a Vietnamese citizen you can apply for Vietnamese citizenship and you will get it in 4 to 8 months? I would assume there is a residence requirement where you have to have lived in the country for sometime before you can get the citizenship as well.
