Wrecking Crew Modern Miners

In the Debut episode of Rock N Roll Herkimer Diamond Co ,
Wrecking Crew take down some of the ledge in the "Roots Rock" section of the mine, almost immediately locating beautiful Herkimer Quartz Crystals.
Today We meet Anatoly and Jake (VIP CREW) and
Sean Adam (Lead Miner and Mine Owner)
Anatoly is a seasoned Miner having over a decade of experience, but today is his first day fighting with the Dolostone, one of the hardest rocks to mine on the planet. Which is exactly why the crystals he finds are so clear and perfectly hidden for almost 500 million years; since they were formed.
Jake and Sean have more experience with Herkimer County Mining but
are gonna have to work hard today to keep up with the Carat Counter for Toly. It may be beginners luck? Probably not.
Half a days work takes down the overburden and the ledge is exposed. Sean does a quick check on the area and quickly directs the guys into the right direction to find the "Pockets". Sean located a large hollow void in the dolomitic limestone,... will it be a pocket?
Can they even break into the DoloStone ?
Of course they can .. but not before Jake Tubbs breaks a few 20 pound sledgehammers. Toly finds more crystals and everyone has to eat some food.
Night Dig!
It aint Rock N Roll if it's not a party.
100 hours later..
We locate BIGFOOT POCKET at 3 AM.
Sean Stays up while everyone else goes to sleep at 3 Am.
Many HUGE amazing crystals were discovered.
1000 hours later....
Everyone wakes up!
Its Jakes Birthday!
We pull all the Crystals out of BIGFOOT Pocket.
Toly finds wayyy more crystals..
Jake locates a "Palmer" Birthday Herkimer Diamond.
Makaila pulls a bunch of crystals from bigfoot pocket.
10 thousands of million hours later,
All the crystals are clean and here is a You Tube video.
The rest is almost History.

Great finds with incredibly hard work. Great to watch, but I echo David’s comment about the music. You don’t need it. It was very distracting. I’d rather hear sounds of nature or quiet. That said, love your videos and I’ll keep watching!

Check out the lives, lots of nature sounds and Ive taken your advice on the music! Its pulled way back or fades out in the intro to nature sounds. Issue is, the sounds of automobiles can be heard because the logging trucks are HUGE and LOUD. Thanks for your input and I hope youre hangin out!

Makes me just wanna go dig in the dirt. Crystals mean more when you dig them yourselves. Do you let anyone pay to come dig with you?

Rock N Roll is a private location, wrecking crew miners are the team. There are many mines here that have a low rate to dig, and all the proper tools and insurances for that kind of thing. We are a small operation mine, our videos are mostly to show how much work it is to get these crystals. We will have more in depth docu series in the future.. the channel is very new. Awesome! Quartz is abundant on Earth, but these only come from Herkimer County!

Yes Herkimer Variation Quartz.. harder than other types and double terminated.

@@robyo2530 Yes, they are very clear in some locations, but it is very rare to have perfect clarity like we do on ocassion at Rock N Roll. We call them "Diamond Quartz" becasue they are diamond facet shaped and have that high clarity. They are 8 on the hardness scale, diamond is 10. Usually Quartz is 5-7 on the Mohs Hardness Scale. Herkimer quartz will deeply scratch glass but wont cut it like a diamond does.
