I did a cruise ship gig were our sax player was LITERALLY ALL OF THESE. Just depended on the song. And yes, several of these were at the same time haha

@@DavePollack North Texas. Most people are really, really humble and welcoming, especially the upperclassmen, but there's a couple of people who are in my class who do that. I guess they think that being making lab bands as freshmen gave them a superiority complex

This is actually a good tool to check yourself before you reck yourself and not OVER DO these habits. I’ve caught myself at times doing these and have tried to consciously not over do these. They great for certain instances for sure. When I was taking classes in webdesign, they were saying that just because you can do certain things (constantly using the “Sale Starburst”…etc.) doesn’t mean you can exploit it! HAHA! Seems like these instances are definitely relatable! HAHA!

Hey, when you do the next 10, I have a couple for you to add in: The Quoter (quotes songs inside the solo too much) and The Hunter (hunting for the notes in the chord changes.... especially when the bridge comes up.) I really liked this video, as for my solo style, I,m all over the place depending on who I am playing with but I can relate to most of them. I wish I could play the jazz school version, but I stick to what I know.

So on point! I had all of theses saxophone players on a session already. Worst situation was. Piano, Bass, Drums and 5 saxophone players. And they all played a solo after each other. The first one played his solo. The second one tried to play better then the first one, but he sounded exactly the same. The third one quoted again for the 1000 time charlie parker. And great playing, by the way!

May I suggest some others: the sub-toner (or the everything-sounds-like-pink-panther-plas), the endless grace-noter, the straight-jazz-sounds-like-smooth-jazz-er, the brecker-false-finger-licks-in-everything, the slap tonguer, ... and don't get me started with the vibrato styles (sanborn, ernie watts, richard elliott, gato)
