I love your tips! You’re a wonderful role model. My mother was from a wealthy American family and she was so naturally elegant in the way she moved, spoke and dressed. She spent some time in a French boarding school. You are reminding me of her and how nice it is to awaken the natural elegance from within. Thank you for awakening all these memories of my mother!

I remember when, decades ago, I was buying a beautiful blazer in a shop and another customer was eyeing it longingly. I smiled and said “there’s more of these on that second rack”, but she said “it’s too elegant for me”. I said “you are elegant”! I was really surprised that someone had given her the idea that she wasn’t elegant, she was! I so agree, elegance is inherent in each of us, we only need to tap into it. For clothing and accessories, keeping things simple, a little restrained and high quality and classic helps easily to give an elegant look. I’m so glad elegance in our appearance is “back in style” again. It’s a natural reaction to the sloppiness of dress in the pandemic, where people here in California wore even footed pajamas to go to a shop!

Sorry to say, I was a bit put off by your very long intro on our inner elegance, unfortunately, without explaining what you mean by elegance… I do like the inside out approach(though I really believe we are doing it for outside approval only)😂. Nevertheless., a very nice tip to check in with yourself during the day as well as nice and practical tips for editing it last minute.! I plan to make a little checklist of your tips in my closet for when I am confused and hasty. Thank you. ! Ps. I’m from the Netherlands, and I don’t think elegance is given much thought in this country.! it’s a shame really…. Could it be due to it the decline of aristocrats? 😉

Why not just keep your negative thoughts to yourself and move on?

It doesn’t feel right for you to mention that you have an aristocratic background, it’s never mentioned by the European aristocrats here in the US, of which there are a considerable number. I must wonder what your even-more egalitarian French viewers think. Let people guess from your elegant behavior, is my suggestion. I’m sorry, this is just my opinion, I found it startling and a bit off-putting. But, I love your content🙂

In France it is not a big deal. It’s part of our history. I fail to see why it bothers you. Especially in a country which is always plastering how much money everyone makes….🙄
