Glenn Jacobs is the master of turning rubbish gimmicks and storylines into gold. He somehow survived fake Diesel, carried Isaac Jankeem to an IC title reign, made being the kayfabe burnt brother of the Undertaker a staying character in WWE, despite WWE giving him all kinds of awfull stuff and retconning most of the characters backstory to a point where nobody really knows what his backstory actually is. Then we also had Kane being part of DX, Katie Vick, Corporate Kane and many more.

I wish Malenko would have kept going. Not to say the Ruthless Aggression wasn’t without bad gimmicks and wasted opportunities but he would have fit in on SmackDown during that point.

I'm surprised Terry Taylor didn't make the list. The Red Rooster has to be the archetypical "Bad gimmick ruining a great wrestler."

I hate to say it, but the reason why it was inevitable that a character who is supposed to be a counter to the stereotypes of Muslims evolves into those very stereotypes is that debunking stereotypes is not something that people who embrace stereotypes want to indulge. The pro-wrestling fandom is much, much better in 2021, but there are still plenty of people who cry about the end of the "good old days" when sexism, racism, homophobia and just bigotry in general was synonymous with the industry.

Well Stone Cold was getting stale by that point. He was main-eventing his 3rd Wrestlemania, what else was there? Did we really want him to be another Cena, Roman Reigns. He got to show another side to himself and spent another year on top as Champ. He goes back to a babyface and leaves because his storylines suck. And Rikishi probably didn't mind the paycheck of regularly wrestling Stone Cold, Kane, Taker, Rock, Angle...for months afterwards rather than carrying Too Cool in the midcard. Sadly his career was maybe not meant for longevity since his knees kept giving out and had to lose weight.

Not only was she a successful wrestler but a monster truck driver and she lead a path for many many women in both wrestling and monster truck racing. Today in 2022 many top athletes in wrestling and monster trucks are ladies and they are better than the men.....

You see I don’t know Vince McMahon on a personal or professional level but the impression I get is that he’s got an ego the size of Connecticut, and that if he doesn’t have any minuscule part in a wrestlers success he’s got to involve himself. Like Triple H basically runs the NXT brand and has produced really remarkable talent that can main event Raw or Smackdown......however a lot end up being underutilized because Vince doesn’t like to be outshined by anyone not even his own family.

Concerning WWE using Hawk's issues with alcoholism, and drugs as a poorly executed storyline, WCW did the same thing when Eric Bischoff got the stupid idea to use Scott Hall's at the time issues with alcoholism as a part of a storyline let's just say it went as well as the WWE's attempt at using Hawk's issues with alcoholism, and drugs as a storyline aka it sucked on a major level. Eric even admits on his podcast that when he came up with the idea of using Scott's drinking problem as a storyline he wished somebody would've told him that was a bad idea.

when you talking about Hawk they brought their issues in storyline i can see many of them ignoring the fact about How Scot hall storyline carried out in wcw drunken man unable to wrestle, puking in live tv. they carried into storyline.. such a mess in WCW.. are u guys simply avoiding this?
