Good video and good content 👍 Didn't Scott Hall get depressed again during lockdown though, and end up breaking his hip (again) and die of a triple heart attack caused by a blood clot that he got from inactivity resulting from the broken hip? Unfortunately, it wasn't such a happy ending 😢

Tony Atlas has lived in my hometown of Auburn, Maine since the mid-late 1980s. He has been homeless, as well as lived at the YMCA too. The park where was found sleeping under the park bench was Kennedy Park in Lewiston, which is across the Androscoggin River from Auburn. I have met him several times. He's a nice guy. One of my friends who was into weight lifting in high school in the late 1980s used to get lifting advice from him at the Y, where both of them used to lift..

@@jimbo_1312 dont forget mick foley. The guy has more damage got to his body than the whole roster had together. DDp is the guy that knows what a wrestler goes through, he knows what could help and he tries to let the wrestlers enjoy their retirement. WWE should give him a gold covered contract to take care of their legends, keeping them in shape (for the younger legends maybe a royal rumble surprise).. too many wrestlers die young and really out of shape and unhealthy.

He hurt himself in Japan. I think it was in a match against Davey Boy. They both go over the top rope when doing a suplex (which was planned, he did it with Bret Hart many years earlier in Stampede as well). But the footage shown is legit, he hurts himself there too, and I think it's when he just steps over the guy laying on the mat. But obviously he already had an injury, otherwise there is no chance that that would hurt anyone.

Drug and alcohol issues aside I think a giant portion of wrestlers money issues would be solved if they didn't have to go out and get their own health insurance. To the average person, professional wrestling may be a scripted performance, but insurance companies don't view it that way and I'm quite certain that these wrestlers have to pay exorbitant premiums. If the promotions, which make millions off of this talent, would pony up the dough or at least a good portion of it, I think many wrestlers would have more money coming out at the end of their careers

Sunny terrifies me, one of the reasons I'm glad I never got married, and never plan to. Imagine marrying 1:30 Sunny and being like ooooh boy look what I got! The in just a few years she turns into 2:14 Sunny and you are like wtf happened to you? Can you turn this around? Then by her 40s, which really isnt that old, looks like 3:01. Jesus. Like how do you go from what she was to the beast she became?

Honestly, wrestlers being broke and having severe health issues is the norm not the exception. This is really sad to acknowledge. Seeing former giants in their 60th still wrestle is somewhat bittersweet. On the other hand, getting older than 42 also seems to be quite an accomplishment for many wrestlers. I still admire them for what they gave in the 80th and 90th but feel sorry for them that they still have to wrestle to make ends meet, not because they want to. Without the juice and their clearly visible health issues it seems like a deathmatch in an retirement home. Good luck to my childhood heros!

I watched a John Oliver "Last Week Tonight" where it mentioned that the WWE considers their wrestlers as "independent contractors", where they dont have to provide medical insurance or other benefits. Jake The Snake Roberts also had to set up a GoFund Me page to get his medical expenses paid as he had no health insurance. 😞

@zerocool1ist You'd be surprised to learn just HOW MANY famous and wealthy celebs never bother to get health insurance, even though they can well afford to. A recent example is Denny Laine. Laine had ZERO health insurance, even though he was wealthy and lived in a posh, high rise condo complex in Florida...complete with stunning ocean views. Laine-like Scott Hall-could have easily paid for health insurance, but never bothered to. After Laine's recent health crisis and prolonged hospital stay and treatment, he and his wife (now widow) conned his fans into believing that Laine was financially unable to pay his medical bills. Like Scott Hall, they started a GoFundMe account and conned his fans into paying them many thousands of dollars, then Laine died soon afterward.

Really sad, but this is the case of many a athlete. Very few are taught how to manage the fame and fortune! You let the money and fame go to your head and spend like the money will never stop coming in! You get injured or with the wrong crowd and the money disappears quickly!

You appear to be British so maybe you know something about dynamite that I don’t. But from what I’ve heard about Davey taking the trademark on the bulldog name and not standing with tom after tom helped make him because don’t forget Davey might have been the bigger name later but tom was huge in the beginning and that helped open a lot of doors for Davey. You can understand why Tom would be bitter.

Yes you're right. In the early 80's Tom was already famous to British wrestling fans. He was on TV here. Tom made sure that Davey was his replacement when he went to Canada. Davey only appeared a few times on television here before he followed his cousin to Stampede. Goes to show how much of an A hole Tom must have been.

@Mickelson20T Actually, he didn't. He barely managed to stay sober at DDP's home just long enough to get his hip surgery and some dental work done, then he moved out and went right back to his heavy drinking. He should have had someone there living with him, after he moved out of DDP's home. However, Scott's son left his father and that put Scott right back to living alone and unaccountable for his actions. At the time of his death, Scott was still plagued with alcoholism and he needed another hip replacement.
