I've made a lot of documentaries on League of Legends and Esports recently, but here's a little 'documentary' on myself and where I'm headed in the future. Thank you for watching, and the amazing 10 years.

Gbay has really struck his niche where he creates passion-based videos in a "naive art" format. The happy accident that he's also made pro documentary level videos is because well, he's good at it. It's clear to me as a longtime fan that his vids have gotten more intentional, but they've always been very thoughtful. Now that he has so much experience telling stories I'm always excited for his next work. Well done Gbay, you are truly an original.

Even though I'm a lot "younger" in the youtube scene I've experienced how inconsistent KZfaq can be. Videos that popped off before are flopping now, videos that sucked before are popping off now. Ideas that I thought would draw attention because of their wider appeal are doing worse than videos that are niche or not as interesting (at least to me). The frustrating part is that KZfaq tells you what's wrong, but it doesn't tell you WHY it's wrong. So when you talked about how the downside to breaking conventional rules in art is that even though you have the freedom and potential to start something new, you also have no framework to compare yourself to. Everything is basically a crapshoot. We may THINK we know what sets off the algorithm but everytime we try to test it, it changes. In all honesty I'd rather 10 videos get 200k views each than for 1 video to get 2m views and the other 9 get 0. But I feel like KZfaq is designed to make you lose more than you win, so that you give into this "gambling addiction" and keep playing. If we were promised X amount of views per video, a lot of us would become complacent. But the lack of consistency would ultimately drive a lot of people to quit or burn out.

From one terminally online user to another, this video made me feel all kinds of warm fuzzy feelings that remind me why I love exploring the mess that is the internet. The growth I've seen in this channel is so clear and I feel every ounce of passion you put into it. League is really a game that is just so full of crazy things that you can never truly feel satisfied with it. You want to learn more, play more, explore more of it's History, and I'm thankful for your guidance in doing so. Here's to another decade of delving through the rich history of the game, written and unwritten. And what a time for it to hit, huh? Have you *seen* worlds this year? So many records and stories so far. I'm living through it and it's a sight to behold, and I'm sure you'll touch on it at some point, and the video will be amazing with all the time and passion you can pour into it with your even further trained skills.

I was there Gbay 10 years ago. When you dropped your first video. I started playing lol around early 2010. My PC back then was shit, but I remember champions getting dropped every couple of weeks. The champions I can remember getting released back then were Shen and Kennen. Like with all sports some things grow. The lol industry and community grew to what it is today. Since the first video I saw made by you I was hooked. The way you tell these stories are pieces of art on their own. Yes maybe they don’t have a perfectly written script or buildup. But what they lack in that part they make up in passion, knowledge and the real feel. When I watch your video’s I always have the feeling of watching a video made by someone how knows his stuff. Not a video that is made by some wannabe. Go for it follow your passion, make better video’s structure wise, but stay true to yourself. Keep creating these unique documentary style video’s where people like me can relive those magic moments we experienced while playing lol.

I have been watching your content for a while now. It's incredible how you have grown so much, not only as a youtuber, but also as a person, right in front of my very eyes! I am so glad you made this video and that young gbay decided to become a youtuber exactly 10 years ago. I believe that even if you decided not to become a youtuber 10 years ago, you would have somehow still ended up doing what you do now, making educative, fun and interesting documentaries. The world holds so much opportunities for someone with so much potential like you. I look forward to all documentaries yet to come. Congratulations on getting engaged, on getting hired to work with some big name documentary makers and congratulations on all your hard work paying off!

Hey Gbay - Up until about a month ago I knew nothing about League of Legends but found your channel because I wanted to get the history and stories of Worlds. I am on my own KZfaq journey as a creator and nothing has rang more true to what I'm going through. In one of my recent videos I actually tried to pivot a bit more and tell a story. It didn't do crazy numbers but I was happy and fulfilled releasing it. I've been noodling with the idea of going back to school for story writing or film making so I can learn the foundational principles to make better KZfaq videos. I don't have anything else to say other than your scope of impact extends far beyond the League of Legends scene. Thanks for all you do.

Been following since 2014 although not religiously. I actually go into Blade and Soul because of you and that was my main game for 3 years from 2016 to 2019. I took a League hiatus during that time which made your content less appealing for me since I was out of touch with League. I have still come around to watching your videos here and there and watch you grow your content in a multitude of ways. From showing your ranked climbs, to speaking about mmos, to League documentaries, and even that eating sock video. This is a joke that you made a long time ago in one of your videos, but I always find it interesting and funny: you often make videos about making videos, and the fact that you made one for your 10 year video is great. I'm not sure how many others feel the same sentiment that I do, but making videos about making videos is a staple of Gbay99, in a good way of course. Keep it up

Ayeeee congrats on the 10 years on KZfaq man. You're one of my comfort utubers and love Ur stuff😁. But also every time I see Ur documentaries I think back to some random meme from a Magikarpusedfly vid where his mate Yakko screams * Q u A l I T y C o N t E n T!!! * It's a scream of frustration of how the KZfaq algorithm always seems screw over KZfaqrs how make high quality content to promote daily game play uploads. But it's KZfaqrs like yall that really stick with me, and what really keep league content alive for me, so thanks 😁 (Also side note, the past few years I haven't cared about the pro scene (apart from Ur vids about em!) But for some reason I'm hyped for world's this year. Would you consider doing a doco about a current series? If not no worries though, you keep doing you dude😁)

I think it's worth mentioning too that numbers are only a small part of the picture. The "greatest PVP escape ever" is sitting right now at 138k, so probably just a modest success (by your standards!!!), but it's also one of the coolest glimpses into the old runescape era zeitgeist on the internet, and I really loved that one. I watched it several times on random days, there was something comforting about seeing those old pixelated characters walking around doing their business. Much love to ya gbay. I hope these new insights don't re-categorize some of your greatest hits as failures, they were still interesting and important to so many of us.

Looking forward to what you will create going forward! I think what you describe here can be experienced in any art form or expressive type of media. Going into it without much prior knowledge of theories and history of the medium, you can still create very interesting things, but they will never feel refined. However, I feel like the most refined films, songs, pieces of art in media in general, come from people that went through this process of starting out with nothing more than fun and passion, realizing they lack refinement after a while, strive to attain it and finally learn about the tools of their craft and how to use them. And your Khan documentary shows that kind of development. Best of luck for what's to come, I'll be here for it!

Off topic but I hope you can do something on Zeka, i feel like he has come out of this worlds as kind of the story that chovy and knight were said to be, this new blood that is just going crazy, I know he is just now showing it on the worlds stage and he had a poor performance and summer, but the way he is playing at worlds is incredibly inspiring for his first year.

Hello Gbay :) I am not sure if you read this but there is some stuff in my inside I wanna share. I follow you quite some years, discovered your channel first when you made your "war of art" league videos back in a time where I don't even really understood the English language but for some reason I was really fascinated by your calm character and I loved every one of your videos. You were honestly the first KZfaqr I was considering myself as a "fan". I think I watched more of your older League gameplay videos and I also enjoyed the times when you made smaller daily content. And Road to Diamond stuff etc. really miss this day, but also totally understand that you want to create something more meaningful in the world. :) This video was very intense for me for some reason. I ask myself if I should maybe spend less time on the internet and maybe search for some purpose in the real world, but until now the things that gave me a permanent good feeling were most of the time online. (besides friends & family and spending time with them). Even if I don't know you in person I was incredible lucky when I saw that you will marry. Almost cried I wish you two the very best!

This is a great video. I too wish I could see where I could really get people to watch my own stuff. I've went to school, was a film student, and after getting out of college I was making KZfaq videos like I was in 2007 again. I can't quite call my videos pro art or amateur art, but I naturally knew the basics of film making and yet they never take off in anyway. It's sad to say that my videos will likely be at the mercy of KZfaq no matter what I do. All I can do I work hard and keep moving until I can get people watch. My stuff is on indie games so it won't get picked up as easily because they are unknown games, but I try. Only recently have put my strength as a creative writer into my videos in talking about the stories and making the lofi vibes and my tone match to create a relaxing mood... with an unhinged touch lol. What I mean to say in this long stream of thought your video will me push a little bit longer. So I will say it again. Great video Gbay99... I still hate LoL tho LMAO

I get what you’re saying when you say that some of your documentary videos failed, but I love them. All of them. Can’t get enough of them. I agree, the Khan one was the best for sure. But you haven’t failed, Gbay. Keep it up.

It's my birthday today, and watching this brought tears to my eyes. I remember first watching you back in 2012, when I first started playing League. My friends in school kept going on about how good your guides were, and while they were useful, I'm glad you're doing documentaries now. Life really happens in crazy ways, and more often than not, it just doesn't go as planned. It's so easy to be sucked into a loop, and a lot of us live our lives in the most mundane yet politically correct ways. Watching this made me feel things I haven't felt in a while, and I truly hope that we can all continue to be inspired to do the things we love, whether in a direct or indirect way. Thank you for the journey, and I'll always be rooting for you for as long as I live!

Gbay, your Khan documentary was so good, I've actually sent it to my public speaking professor because pretty much everything we have gone over in his course I found in the doc, and applied very well.

Dude I’m so happy to hear your story of reinvigoration. Naïve art starting off, then slowly learning more and more it’s important to have a structure in your career, but I think it’s even more important to have a time in your career where you break all the rules. I’ve always appreciated how you always speak from the heart. We’re honored to see you grow, and we can’t wait to see more. Cheers man

I played league since 2013 and on december of last year I stopped playing. And around all that time I watched so many league youtubers, probably more than I can remember. Most of them I stopped following after a while, but you know, for some reason I just never felt like stopping watching your content. Can't remember when I started watching your vids, probably somewhere before the road to diamond series, but even before that it was always nice seeing you excited about league. Even now heheh. Here's hoping for more years to come, and for you to keep enjoying what you're doing
