In rice-eating cultures we use "cooked rice" to refer to meals, even if it's noodles or burgers.

5:25 Gohan is rice but it can technically refer to any main meal of the day. Asa-gohan = breakfast hiru-gohan = lunch ban-gohan = dinner 7:35 100 in One. That sounds like the old NES cartridges with lots of games in it.

4.50 That's the reason Masks work, yes. Most Airway infections are caused by viruses and bacteria that use droplets to transfer. By sneezing, coughing, and even talking you eject those droplets from your mouth and, in smaller part, your nose. A mask's main job is to trap those droplets and avoid you spreading them onto the surfaces around you. That said, masks are also useful if you have to enter the room of someone with a respiratory infection to protect yourself. By wearing one you avoid inhaling any droplets that might still be airborne. It's less effective than at protecting others from yourself, but there is a reason why Doctors wear a mask when entering the hospital room of a patient with that kind of diseases. It's definitely not useless! Of course, you should combine it with other health practices like washing your hands with water and soap or a hydro-alcholic solution before entering and immediately after exiting. It would be pretty sad to go through a respiratory infection because your eye itched/you had something between your teeth, and your hands still carried the pathogen you got from touching the wall near the patient. I hope I was able to clear some doubts!

Another thing to keep in mind is that, for some pathogens, you might be infectious before showing symptoms, while others become able to infect other people only after the carrier is already symptomatic. For example, the most common Herpesvirus is usually transmitted through the fluid from blisters and sores. When that happens, you already know you have Herpes when you become able to pass it around. Sometimes, on the other hand, it's asymptomatic and still manages to infect others. So... it's a bit more complicated than just "you are sick, wear the mask." "You don't appear to be sick, don't." I'd say that it depends on the situation ahahahah. I still wear one in winter, because it keeps my face warm! If asked with an attitude, I just say I had a mild cough and didn't want to spread it. I even appear considerate that way! Lmao

fyi as others said, gohan is like saying "meal" (as meal is both a portion of food to be eaten as well as food meal like seed meal, corn meal, etc...)
