New Kenshi Scenario with 100 0-Stat Hive Worker Drones, basically all Beeps, spawning in at the Leviathan Coast with tons of resources. Can we survive long enough to build SimCity?

For future reference for anyone watching when a character is stuck you can just pick them up with another character to get them unstuck. This also works when they're on elevation

@@shadoeboi212 Ah, alright. I haven't seen much of Kenshi's more RTS-oriented features, so I wasn't sure. Though, looking at the next video it didn't seem to make a difference for Ambiguous. If anything, the AI was so confused by his haphazard wall orientations they just sort of stood there outside the walls.

Interesting experiment you're running, although I will say the reason that the hive species has three different subspecies is that they all fit relatively nicely into three different roles at their villages. Princes do the smart work, soldiers do the fighting, and drones do the labor. Using a colony only with drones will be a lot harder, because you'll have to fit them into roles they mechanically have debuffs in or don't excel at due to lower limb health. My hypothesis is that you'll start to see some of these difficulties come up in the playthrough, and some will be harder to overcome than others, but I've no doubt you'll make it entertaining. @@majormajorasic You wouldn't want 20 slots anyway. Characters have a hard time finding room to attack with 5 swings coming at them. 20 would be super unbalanced, lmao.

Those moments when the entire damn hive was just running in circles around the based, panicked to the core, running away from any and all fauna that strode by - all those scenes missed the Yakety Sax (Benny Hill chase theme) soundtrack.

You don't have to rebuild your houses if your characters get stuck, you can just pick them up with someone else. While you can build sth like the great wall of china or a copper exclave you have to be careful with it; the game can detect your copper operation as a second village if it's faar enough away and will send twice as many raids your way. It's all kinds of fantastic to come back to these months later and remember them as the learning exercise they were. We can see from this specific series the importance of real walls, turret research, and kiting extremely dangerous things away from town.

probably one of your most informative ep of kenshi. definitely seeing how you assigned use cause bio mass spam. pro tip would be seek a copper mine or closer to a late game resource when you start camp . I must commend your resolve not to swear!

If people get stuck in places they shouldn't be, make sure you reload the game with reset squad positions toggled.

@@ambiguousamphibian Or just order someone to pick them up and drop them elsewhere. Picking up people works through objects and walls (you might have to position them nearby first since they might not be able to pathfind their way to the target).

I haven't played Kenshi for a while, but last I did I went around and collected all of the unique characters (like Beep and the robot you can find in the swamp) and I would do just what you are doing now. It did become more like an RTS, but it was interesting because there are only so many unique characters (well there were, this was back when only half the map was released) so you have to be careful about how you allocate your people around the camp. I loved building big bases, making too much food, eventually smithing all of the best weapons and armor and then turning my entire group into bad asses.

I was skeptical of the idea at first, but I'm a believer now. It would be kinda cool to see a tamed animal guard group to do the fighting for the hive. A garru, a couple of bonedogs, and maybe a beak thing or 4 could be pretty useful.
