patching this is super fucking greedy by WG. Some people might argue that it's not because it's an exploit, however, you need to remember that not just anyone can do this. You need to have already bought ~80% of the premium ships on the store and buy several HUNDRED to a THOUSAND containers for all the duplicates to proc. The people able to exploit this bug have already sunk upwards of $10k into this game, and at that point, they deserve to have an 'unlock everything instantly' pass, goddamn. I mean, they've paid off a WG software engineer's salary for the month, but WG wants even more money than that from them

Convenient side effect for WG: Min-maxing f2p players like me can't min-max that much any more. Right now i am sitting on about 85 stored containers. These are mostly special ones like WG containers, supercontainers (still about 25 of them left unopened...) or black friday containers gained from WG's anniversary or as mission rewards. I'm storing these because each one of them has a decent chance of dropping 1 premium day or more. The WG containers are even guaranteed to do so. Every time i have some holidays ahead, i will open these containers until a large enough amount of premium time drops and then, i will stop opening them and wait for my next vacation to continue the process. This way, i can enjoy nearly constant premium time when i'm really playing without spending a single cent on it. With the new limitation to 100 crates, some of these chances will go waste in the future...since i am always accumulating more containers than i am able to use. Conclusion: I need more holidays... *sigh*

That was the exact behaviour i was talking about to my sons. You have shown in one of your first vids about that crappy "random generator" that there is a flaw in the system. I was wondering why there were so many duplicate ships as you opend all the boxes at once and my brain started tinkering about that :D i doubt that WG had a fix for this right now. You should try this again with lower numbers of boxes per buy and lower numbers of "missing" ships. Say 30 boxes per bunch and just 3-4 ships missing. I think it's an exponential growth rate and WG is just limiting the numbers of boxes so that exploits arn't that exploitable. They just lowered the roof... but you can still jump, but not so high anymore :) disclaimer: it's a theroy! don't BUY boxes because of my theory!

Wow, nice analysis. FYI, this is how it worked in prior years, but there was no limits on 100. If you had all the ships, you got random dupes and the doubloons. Even better, 2 Halloweens ago the same occurred with the special camos that were worth like 6/8k doublooons each. Once you had them all, you racked up doubloons. I "earned" over 200k doubloons with that glitch. This last year they've plugged all the holes pretty well. The experiment Chase did here is not something any normal player could afford to do without knowing the exploit first.

Right, like I have that kind of cash to blow on pixel ships! After the PR event I stopped spending money on the game. This doesn't change my mind at all. WG needs to remember what they are selling. There are too many game problems. It is getting so it isn't fun to play.

being as it sounds like they're trying to create balance (based on ship performance), it seems like they should eliminate division and chat (the only things that strategically separate one player from another) and make it play on your own and enjoy it or hate it.

A couple weeks ago in wows blitz when they were trying to sell the newly released Somers in gamble box mode, they made a mistake for a moment when they put 135 gold or something as the cost to open 10 Somers gamble boxes altogether.

Last year I spent over $600 on Santa crates but I got all the ships on the list that I didn't have. But, make note that the Massachusetts was the very last ship I received. This year I have not bought any Santa crates and won't.

I bought the 16x mega box and get nothing good other than stupid camo and flags...Not even give a Makarov (which I don't have lol) WeeGee used to stated the Mega box have higher chance to get ships (which happen pre-2019 and I did got some ships) but I guess since 2019 they don't care anymore

I ad a very different experience with the big crates. I had empty tier 6,7 and 8 slots yet got two tier 9's in one drop.

400 santa crates works out to over $1000 in real money. 10,000 doubloons = $40+ 67,000 doubloons = $268 = 100 crates 400 crates = $268 x 4 = $1072 And having 200,000 doubloons to start with would cost $800+ Not many players willing to dole out that kind of cash.

To resume, you took their rigged boxes.. found an exploit to counter their bs.. and you end rolling big.

When I saw that one in the patch notes I burst out laughing. I immediately realized they are patching an exploit. Instead of fixing how the crates work, they have basically reduced the functionality of the game :-)) If anybody needs more proof of the scam then there's not helping them ...
