My First Ultra Trail Race came 3 weeks after competing in the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii and 1 week after competing in the Big Sugar 100 mile gravel race in Bentonville, Arkansas, we unpacked, repacked and headed up to Scottsdale, Arizona to compete in the Javelina Jundred, which would be my very first 100 mile Ultra Trail running race. This ended up being a life changing experience and we had an awesome time taking in everything the event and the Ultra Running scene has to offer.
Thank you to everyone for the incredible support + watching!!!! Please leave any questions or comments below and I'll answer any and all that I can.
Please subscribe, it means a lot!
xoxo

Praise for Heather, the cameraman, and whoever edited this together. The official race footage woven into Heather's story was elegant and added some tension that wouldn't have otherwise been there. I've been watching a bunch of ultramarathon videos this week and this is definitely one of the best. Congrats on the race result.

You are amazing!! I saw you in a clip of the Javelina race and I tried to google it to see if you ran. And here is a video and you did!! That is awesome!! The fact that you have done all those events in the space of a month and do them well, is a testament to your hard work, your competitive spirit and your fitness. You are an amazing athlete and a true inspiration!! You inspire the rest of us to keep getting out and working hard. Thanks!!

You are the definition of the word "inspiring"! Would have loved another 30 minutes of Q&A. Please think about doing another video kind of a look back at the race. Talk about it from all aspects for those watching. Highs, lows, thinking about quitting, what made you keep going, how did you deal with those blisters - srsly, thoughts about people passing you. What would you do different going forward and not just strategy to win, we all want to know the real BTS story of how the race went, regrets of not drinking enough or drinking the wrong stuff, what annoyed you the most/least etc. Give us a breakdown of your thoughts before, during and after the race. WE WANT MORE! LOL. I am new to you, but I agree with the others you have the best smile, attitude, infectious laugh. Great run, great video! Congrats to you and the team! Hope to see you in more runs and videos!

I absolutely love everything about this video! I cannot be more excited for Heather and her newfound ultra love! Javelina was my first hundred miler experience (pacing) so I went on to do Rocky Racoon with a few months training. It was amazing to ride with Heather (for a short while) earlier this year at Unbound. There are so many amazing experiences out there! I can’t wait to see what the race calendar looks like for 2023! Hopefully we can meet again! Huge fan! Congratulations on finishing in the top five with basically zero ultra running training! Mind blowing!!

Can’t wait for your next adventure!

Talk about a busy “off-season” post-Kona! Would love to see you at the start line of Western States and/or UTMB and while you are at it choose the hardest ocean open water swim race (Molokai?), gravel race (Unbound again?) to round out a “Tri” season…and of course add Kona in!
