100 Subscriber Horn Honk (Nathan AirChime, Westinghouse, and more) (2-11-2023)

Thank you to everyone who has subscribed to my channel! I appreciate all the feedback you viewers give! Here is the 100 Subscriber Horn Honk, which contains all of my current working airhorns and whistles.
Featured in this honk are:
- Mintz 5 Chime Air Whistle
- Sparton D-2355 Marine Airhorn
- United Pacific 46129 Airhorn
- Nathan AirChime New Cast P2(A) Airhorn
- Westinghouse D-5 Transit Airhorn
- Sherburne Company Caboose Air Whistle
All of these horns and whistles are ran on a Craftsman 2.5 gallon cordless air compressor with a 125psi capacity along with a single-stage horn valve.

0:15 sounds just like the Strasburg 90.

Strasburg 90 has a Reading 6-Chime while my whistle is a 5-Chime. That thing uses a ridiculous amount of air haha.

I rode Cal-train recently. One of those sounds like a P2?

Yeah, it’s a single tone P2, hence the “A” designation. It’s basically a Caltrain P2 with a dead #3 bell.

My D-5 already has some issues. The backcap set screw threads have completely stripped out, meaning the set screw can’t be tightened. I’m trying to contact Bendix for a replacement backcap and diaphragm since they still make them for the Bendix PH-2 horn. Haven’t gotten much luck from Bendix yet though unfortunately.

@@coasternamegenerator5611 I’m probably gonna drill and tap for 3/8” threads, and then put a coil in the threads to reduce it back to 5/16”

@@coasternamegenerator5611 Good news, I bought a Bendix PH-2 that was missing the short bell so I could use replacement parts (Backcap, set screw, spring, and diaphragm). I’ll give you an update if the horn sounds any better. I also used a buffing compound to smooth out the inside of the powerchamber to give the diaphragm a clean surface to resonate properly.
