Your 200th subscriber (me) just watched your 100 subscriber special (and a bunch of other videos). The 1st pack of hockey cards I ever bought was 1971-72 OPC. I brought 10 pennies to the store, but when I got there, I only had 9 but the guy let me have the pack for 9 cents instead of 10!

I’m excited to see what he can bring to this Sabres team. (Btw, I was checking out your old videos, and I too am a big ELP fan. Just out of curiosity, are you a fan of Gentle Giant as well? I absolutely love that band!)

I am a huge prog rock fan, love Gentle Giant. I’ll be working at Progstock in October. Had Carl Palmer over to my house, I’m good friends with his band mates.

I’m 37, but I absolutely love classic progressive rock, as well as classic hockey, which is why your hockey channel has become one of my favorites on YT (alongside The Hockey Guy, SDPN, and Hockey Psychology). Love this card design of 83-84. Awesome Ray Bourque. I came over here from JD66Cards. Couple questions. Why did Topps not print cards for a couple years? Did they not have a license? Or, was it not worth not a money maker. I always thought since the 70’s OPC bought Topps’ design and printed in Canada, is that the case? Congratulations on 100 subscribers.

Great questions! All I can find is that Topps "declined" to make hockey cards for two years. They did make the sticker album and stickers instead, maybe they thought that was the way to go? For the most part, OPC copied Topps design and printed in Canada, but always included more cards and players in their sets, but with lower print runs. OPC always seemed to print on a nicer card stock but also seemed to suffer from more quality control and cut issues.

Yes, Mark Howe is on the Cup 4x with Detroit. Other fact, every single Cup Detroit has won the name "Howe" is inscribed Syd(no relation) to Gordie and Mark.
