For 100 years people have been leaving things behind in an ancient brick apartment building, never to return for them… and for 100 years they were hidden away… until now!

Yes. He always seems to pass the stuff I'd buy and get excited about stuff I don't care about. Possibly I'm his only subscriber who never wanted to visit his shop because he never picks up anything I would want. I get that he buys what he likes or knows he can sell to other guys who like what he likes. But 'guy' is the operative word very often in what he chooses and seems to know about. Also seems to limit himself to what a man his age would buy, women and anyone older than him not his customer base at all, apparently.

Hahaha... I'm only 10 minutes into the video & my neighbors have got to think that I've finally lost it! I'm doing the same thing & telling Alex, "Why didn't you look at that, it's cool!" Crazy how we all find something different from our past that takes us back to a moment in time. A lot of the stuff I see reminds me of my Dad's work bench & tool box. Stay safe and be well!

@@FigaroHey I think that you ARE correct. But, here's my take on why he buys what he does buy. Referring back to the, "Music Teacher" series (gosh,. I think that's the one) with all of the beautiful clothes. He knew that he was in over his head on that. So, he sold the entire lot of clothes to one, 'Guy' who knows about vintage women's clothing & what they are worth & if I remember correctly, an existing clientele. So, you have hit the nail on the head! Take care and be well!

Alec as I watch you go through the things you're finding in this building, there are things you aren't too sure of! These are things I name right off. They're tools my daddy had when I was little. I just turned 81 on June 27th, and sometimes I see things that really spark a memory! It's really funny when I watch the kids (?) that buy storage lockers. They find things they have no idea of what they're looking at! I just have to laugh. I enjoy your family and have "adopted" you as grandchildren. I'm housebound and don't get out much. So you tube is my entertainment. Have a good year. I visited Calgary for a week in 2001. Stayed with a family I met playing cribbage with on Hotmail. They took me camping at Banff. By the river there. I can't remember the name. I enjoyed Canada.

I made the rounds at an antique shop and one day she had gotten a heap of old black Ericson telephones and I made some remark ´hey these are in very good condition, like brand new´ and she said you know kids always point at that and ask ´what is that ? !´ One really only sees telephones like that in old movies but most kids do not watch those old great classic movies.

The fact you left those compacts is crazy. Vintage reusable ones are back in style but also those were SOLID compacts that look like either gold or at the very least gold-plated silver from the heft they had. The photo album with the guys dressed up and in comic poses, makes me wonder if the lack of women in those pages was indicative. I had never seen a long coat like that one.

I remember my little brother having the 11 1/2" GI Joes. My little sister used to take them from him to be dates for her Barbie and Midge dolls! Haha! Younger siblings are great fun. To this day, I've never told them I was the one that built a little troll village under the lilac tree with all their trolls and woke them up in the middle of the night to secretly take them near it so they could peek at the trolls!! But not too close! They scare easy, those trolls. Bwahaha! And it's been like 50 years!

What a great story! Do you mean the little naked, long, psychedelic colored, hair? And the treasured one had a horseshoe imprint on the bottom of one of their feet? I'd love to have a troll Village!

@@LeeStJohn-ym4df Yes!! Those ones exactly! I bid on 30 of them last year and got them. They're from the 60s, just the ones my sister and brother had. I made another village up in the hay loft. Just finished last week. My grandkids are coming for holidays this weekend. Can't wait to show them!!

That Scottie dog was a doorstop. At least 3 families I knew as a kid had one in various states of condition. :) That monkey screamed Steiff the instant I saw it so I hope you end up getting it and checking it out.

@@stevengrotte2987 Could be a possibility! I am in Canada though (albeit in a border city so definitely possibly as per your suggestion!), so the ones I saw here would make more sense they indicated the large Scottish community that was in this area back before the end of the 70's I would say. We still have a large community and Scottish clubs etc around here but not like it used to be. Be Well!

Just finished this video. Since it was a long one, had to split it over a couple days. Looked like that first room had the better (at least smaller) stuff to flip. A trailer would have likely increased your profit (dollar per mile/hours spent) for all that time spent on the road and helped with the foul weather situation. I enjoy this type of video a great deal.
