@@pedroribeiro4828 No, only improperly tuned GT-Rs would get blown transmissions. When the horsepower is over a certain level, the transmission has to be beefed up, but a lot of owners don't do that. Regardless, the GT-Rs are still the queens of modified import drag racing, with the quickest being in the low 6s. The kings are of course the 2jz Supras, being in the 5s and hold all kinds of import world records.

If the gearbox is standard surely that much torque would strip the gearbox no? Not fighting online just curious. Maybe launch limits the torque to save the gearbox as R35s I’m sure you know are known for destroying drivetrain.

@@monkey2702mw I don’t think any tuner at that power wouldn’t advise some gearbox mods. Anything over @650hp would warrant gearbox modifications. Launch RPM’s are critical as well.

@@watergate9557 understand launch rpms are critical but just because it’s recommended doesn’t mean it’s been done. Just thinking it might explain why it launched at low rpms and had bad standing starts

@@monkey2702mw most tuners will allow the owner to adjust launch RPM’s on the steering wheel buttons.

That TT isnt all that great. When you need a stripped out gutted TT on drag slicks to beat a full interior street car on street tyres in the standing 1/4 mile. Now. If you dare. To be fair the two weighs nothing and is a track only car. GTR can be a solid daily and has an actual interior. I think the loss of traction was probs due to the tired being old and slightly balded

But the gtr has way more power that’s probably the only reason the done the match up

GTR needs better tires and that freaking traction control needs to be taken off - it just seems to kills the power 😒. Additionally, the GTR would need, what Hoonigan channel calls, "A Driver Mod".

Power to weight ratios also makes a difference here

It's the old gtr... new gtr runs 10s with only 600hp.. that gtr still got the old gear box prolly.

Last 2 years gtr has aged. Porsches beat it, audis beat it etc. The worst of it? Have been used to if a car has the same hp as the gtr, even 100hp more than the gtr the gtr wins... but 250hp less than the gtr and it beats it. Gtr had its time. GREAT TIME. From 2007 to 2019... wow

The GTR is a built engine with upgraded full-frame turbos.. the TTRS was stock engine and a hybrid turbo.. only reason it didn't drive there was the slicks... He easily could have drove there on street tires and still won the 1/4 mile race.

Gtr is twice the car with over 3x the power potential.

Its Officially GASsed, not officially...whatever.

Most of the weight is in the batteries, doubt removing interior will do a lot. Be better to have a 10kwh interchangeable battery pack that does say 5 launches. Rip out 1000kg of batteries instead of 100kg of interior. 🤔

Yeah the gtr is the faster car at everything. I’m not sure how much the driver helped matters but I think he coulda pushed a little harder at the launch to close gap even with limited traction
