I'm so happy with mine. It's a big generator, plenty of power!

As you stated, it's not an inverter. I made a rockwool insulated partial box which absorbs a ton of the sound and faces it away from the house. I can simply put that up when I need to run this to power the house and you can barely tell once you're inside. If you do something like this, make sure to face the exhaust out the open end of your "box" and allow plenty of room for it to breathe.

I run 91 non-oxy almost exclusively. I do like having propane as a backup option though since it stores so well.

I mentioned it briefly. Electronic fuel injection uses a fuel pump where the fuel gets injected under pressure into the engine. This is the same process that a gasoline automobile would use that is fuel injected. Carbureted engines are typically on smaller engines such as your walk behind lawn mower. Carburetors can approximate the fuel mixture in the engine whereas EFI uses smart electronics to provide the near perfect amount of fuel and air for the engine at the given RPM range. Generally speaking this leads to increased performance along with lower fuel use and better emission standards. Sorry this wasn't in the video I tried to balance providing as much information as possible without babbling on too long.

@@upnorthmike6085 Thanks for the break down. I think there would be less problems with the EFI than with a carb model. If you don’t use this much and as bad as the gasoline is nowadays , that carb can gum up quickly. Maybe you can answer another question. I’m going to use an interlock switch and disconnect. If you’re using that Nema 50r connection, are you using a 50amp or 30amp Interlock box? I’m assuming you would use the same in main power box? Thank you for the help.

Did you connect this to your home to a inlet box or you used extension cords ?

I don't think I would use my laptop plugged directly into it. I have however used a power strip that has some line filtering capability so I feel better about that

I do use their oil for break in, then switch to Amsoil full synthetic.

@UpNorth Mike I used their supplied oil for 3 hours, drained and added pennzoil 10w30. Switched to propane and started- fantastic. I read shouldn't let the generator run out of fuel while it has a load. I had no idea how much propane and with 2 heaters and 2400w I heard it sputter. I switched off the heaters as it shut down. What do you use to indicate propane? It ran good, love this electric start stuff. Tried starting my older cord pull champion and other generator - they ran great and started great just 2 days before and decided NOT A CHANCE. Got my shoulder surgery Friday- hope, I don't need this thing but have confidence if I do. Thanks for you're time and video.

I haven't found a good propane gauge yet. I bought a dial indicator off Amazon and it's OK to get you in the ballpark, but I just keep a spare 20# tank nearby for when I need it.

Thanks on the quality qauge info. Spare is good nuff answer. I've seen larger tanks too but didn't look into delivery, weight, filling and long hose. A bad ice storm kept us good for days a few years ago and several other outages it's just an investment needed.

The problem with LiFePO4 batteries in my climate is they cannot be charged in sub-zero temps, and we get plenty of that where I live!

@@jolkraeremeark6949 furl injected hondas have a very powerful coil that powers on the ecm and fuel pump and injector even when the recoil is slowly pulled. I hope champion has done something similar. Or else the recoil is there cus these are just the same clones of honda that were carburetted and had the recoil starter. So it would be fun test to see if the generator could be started by the recoil when the battery is disconnected. I don't think so that these will start.

I have both the EFI and carb models. I would say starting is about the same and I have never had an issue with either. The EFI should be slightly more fuel efficient, but without having two of the same size unit with perfectly balanced loads, it would be tough to do a KZfaq style comparison.

Use 50 Amp as the Generator provides up to 38. I was able to start my 3.5 AC unit without the soft-start kit but it starts much easier with it. Good luck

Off the top of my head, I believe it measures voltage, frequency in hertz and run time. I run my generator about 3x per year for at least 10 minutes just to make sure it's running and operating fine. I disconnect the battery and plug in the battery charger and leave it plugged in when not in use. Then I always know it's going to start for me

I run mine once a month for at least 30 minutes. Forget Stabil, use Non-Ethanol gas only. As an example, my pressure washer is over 25 years old and still runs fine... Non-Ethanol is the key.

With the recoil start yes it will. I'm assuming the stator has enough current to support the EFI as it spins and creates power from the engine.

I have an Aries deluxe 30 snowblower, which has electric start (house electric) but, it requires a small battery only to run the EFI fuel injection, without the battery it won’t deliver fuel, I’m assuming if the battery on the generator is low it would be enough power to use the pull start. Hope this helps.

Yes the neutral and the ground shouldn’t be bonded at the generator if you are hooking to home panel. I wonder if champion has a spot where it can be disconnected.

@Michael Stewart I watched a video I believe was from champion. Sorry I can't remember where for sure BUT it showed simple removal of the panel and removing 1 wire. My memory fails, but 2 wires were screwed to the panel, remove one and tape its end. But if plugging to the house box remove that wire, if using extension cords leave it. As I understand.

Correct. Or, use this generator with some type of inline filter to clean up that noise if need be.

If you're asking in general, how has it been working since I purchased it, it has been awesome. It's a real workhorse and has no problem at all handling my entire house load when using it as a backup generator!
