Thank you for the helpful demonstration and explanation. I’ve struggled interminably with a cast on for a cardigan. After watching your video it was obvious the second method was what I needed. In minutes I was past the cast on and making progress.

Since I found your channel, I have learned to knit, and have just finished a baby’s jumper, which had cast-on stitches at the beginning and end of a row. Using your method, I was able to do it! Thank you so much!

Hi, I saw that another poster requested a Spanish translation. I understand that this may be difficult to arrange. In the description boxes of other Channels I have seen the channel owner ask for volunteer translators. Maybe that would be an option. Thank you.

Hi I am working on a one piece baby cardigan and currently on back piece working from the bottom up. It asks to cast on stitches to shape sleeves on the beginning of the next 2 rows. After I do this and then knit across it leaves the sleeves uneven. Not sure if you can understand what I mean but if anyone does can you please let me know if this is normal or am I doing something wrong? Thanks
@10rowsaday
@10rowsaday 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Jenny. It is totally normal to get a "stair-step" edge when you increase stitches by casting them on at the beginning of a row. As a rule, this edge gets hidden in a seam later on. Happy knitting :-)
@genlec8645
@genlec8645 4 жыл бұрын
@@10rowsaday thank you! I'm not sure it looks like a staircase look but I can send a picture to show you how it looks.

@@10rowsaday this is the best way I can explain it. I have the back of a baby cardigan completed to the sleeves so I now have to add 10 stitches at the beginning of the next 2 rows but when I add the 10 stitches to both sides and then I knit across both sides, one side is lower than the other. Does this seem normal. I have looked everywhere for an answer.

@@genlec8645 what you describe is what always happens. It's not noticed when the garment is being worn. I make lots of small Teddy bear jumpers and they work fine.

So I just started knitting and I want to make my baby niece a blanket but right now it's to small in length, how do I keep adding the stitches to make it look even?
@10rowsaday
@10rowsaday 3 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure I understand your question. If you want to make the blanket longer, simply work more rows. It is not clear to me what you mean by "adding the stitches to make it look even". Please, email me a photo of your work and I'll do my best to help. Thank you :-)
