I know its not really the same as what you're talking about, but I have a 97' Ranger that before I bought it, was sitting for 4 years with a snapped timing belt, boiled battery, and flat tires. Just left for dead. We timed it and threw some fresh gas in it and she fired right up ready to work. Doesn't matter what make or model truck it is, if its older than 2000, and isnt roached beyond repair, I guarantee it will fire right up. They just wanted to work.

Every time I watch your videos I tell my wife how much you remind me of my dad. I grew up in the 70s, and my father was very much into the same things as you. Make it work so you can use it and make it look good if it's worth it. Smokes hanging out the mouth, aviator glasses, the whole thing. And I was like your son, hold the light, clean up this or that, this is why we do this, etc. Lots of good memories. Thanks

Good job. Lucky you made it home with the truck. My experience with that tic you’re hearing is the spring in fuel pump. I have been stranded numerous times with this problem. Gives you low fuel pressure and causes the surge like you are having. You probably already figured this out by the time I watched this film. Looked like a blast in Wisconsin wish I could have experienced it. ❤

The most overlooked engine problem ever can be as simple as improper timing settings. I can recall several times my own cars and my friends cars have improper settings and they sounded like something else was wrong with the engine. So it would go down the road okay still be 8° off just enough to cause lag when you get up to speed I even seen it cause starter drag making you think your battery was low or your starter was bad. Bad timing mimics a lot of problems. I always carry White crayon or white chalk with me along with an old-fashioned timing light and the old-timers out there they know what I'm talking about. Having that distributor hold down bolt just loose enough for it to wobble even looser as you're driving from vibrations timing can jump a little bit so when you set your timing always tighten that bolt down then the distributor won't move side-to-side. And no matter what anybody says setting the timing by ear is not always 100% accurate use the timing light. I used to be guilty of that one also. 😊

I’ve been watching Kevin and mook and the junkyard crew for years now. Relatively new to pbg, but I’m certainly glad I found ya bud. Appreciate all the content and I’m sure what it takes to make the content. I appreciate the most the humble, down to earth mindset that you, the digs crew, and a very select few others have. Regardless of fame or popularity, it keeps me more interested in y’all’s content as it’s so much more relatable. On the flip side of the coin, all the other guys that had their start in that way that are now “big time” I am also happy for them. In the end everyone has to do what’s best for them and their families, and I could never be upset at that. #TLDR

I loved the Enticer that I had, it was a 83 340 and it had a slick track on it and would hand with Indy 500’s. It was pristine until I met mid flight with an Indy 800. If I had been sitting on it as intended I would have lost my left leg at about the knee. The belly pan was bent into the primary clutch and the hood flew off over top of me. All it did to the Indy was take a sliver out of the plastic ski. I did bang out the belly pan and found another hood for the rest of the season. I then sold it to a guy for 500.00. He was going to restore it for his son to ride.

Threw plugs wires cap rotor fuel pump and a starter and drove it 200 miles per week for 6 yrs before I finally pulled the engine trans and factory carb for a rebuild. The only time she left me on the side of the road was when a front wheel bearing decided to take a crap on me. Thats nothing for them old chevys, I bought a 92 Silverado in Arizona for $500, at first I thought it was going to be junk, but it was pretty good truck, just the Arizona sun baked everything, I decided to move back to Ohio, and I decided to drive that truck 2100 miles, this truck had almost 400,000miles on the old 5.7, It made it, Blew out 1 bearing and it dug into the spindle in Kansas, changed both front bearing and a spindle and off I went, just wish it had a bigger fuel tank, 20 gallons I was filling up like every 200 - 250 miles.... lol.

I don’t enjoy watching people half-ass something together or butcher something to be cheap or cause they’re an idiot, but you don’t do that. You fix things in a way that I actually do enjoy watching, even if you cut some corners here n there and don’t always replace every part. Idk if that makes any sense or not lol. You fix the important things right but let some things slide to stay within a budget, which is what most real people do. Knowing where the line is on what has to be fixed and what doesn’t is a skill that alot of idiots out there don’t have though, so I can appreciate an artist such as yourself. Also I know you read all the comments so sorry for leavin a long one to get through😆

Very well said your truck did really well and I agree with you on actually drive the old vehicles they were built tough and made to last. I really enjoyed this video. Keep up the great work

cool video.. literally lol I enjoyed the work you did on this in the previous video, and the last with the Mustang. I think this is the first video of yours i have seen at a normal time here from England.. its usually very late here and you make me stay up and watch haha. As a smoker myself, i saw the cig packet reflection in your windscreen first, i find the more i drive the more i smoke. Didnt realise the miles you did until you mentioned it. Also yes i wish here we could have old things like that to drive, but here so strict road test of vehicles needed, and prohibition notice would be on the vehicle before the end of one mile lol Would kill for a garage, rather than just a exposed drive.. So very little gets done in winter or early spring weather.. (or summer here to be fair) cos of the wind and rain,. Anyway soon time for bed.. cheerio old chap
