I think that was the idea. He’s speaking so slowly to slow down the jury. When you hear people drone on about something it puts you to sleep. There was already a juror who was falling asleep. This was his attempt at a mistrial. If he observed that juror sleeping during this BORING set of inconsequential facts…delivered slow and boring just like when you stare putting a child to sleep. He failed. He brought a blanket and some warm tea for the jury. The other woman brought racism. Gough brought racism and the concept of “my client is too dumb to be guilty”. And of course Travis brought lies that didn’t match his previous statement. Linda Dunikoski gathered all that foolishness and set it on fire in open court. The jury saw all of it, You failed. GUILTY.

One huge, glaring problem with all the defense teams’ arguments is that they never provided proof of rising crime or any significant crime in the neighborhood. They’re using the neighbors’ paranoia in attempt to make the jury think their clients were justified in chasing and detaining Ahmaud. Terrible defense arguments. They also can’t explain why they’re calling Ahmaud a burglar despite that he never stole anything from the construction home. Laura Hogue pointed out that there were valuables in the construction home, but that’s not enough to prove Ahmaud was there to steal, especially since he went in there on multiple occasions over several months and never took anything. He was running empty-handed when they killed him. Then, Greg rolled his body over, claiming he was checking for weapons. Makes no sense to look for weapons after you’ve already killed someone. Even I know you’re not supposed to disturb the crime scene.

> why does he have the right to "self defense" by chasing him down I don't think there's a self defense argument for Mr. McMichaels chasing down Mr. Arbery. I think the argument is that Mr. McMichaels was engaging in a citizen's arrest. When two people are fighting over a shotgun, if that's all I know I'm thinking one of them is likely to half a good self defense argument, but I don't know whom. When I watch the video that's key in this case, it looks a heck of a lot like Mr. Arbery would have a rock solid self defense argument for shooting, had he gained control of the weapon and fired it. If Mr. McMichaels was in the right to perform a citizen's arrest and he was doing it properly, I think he would have a good self defense argument. I don't think this was the case. This is all they came up with in all those months?? This is serious crime, a guy in an open construction site, who hasn’t taken a thing, a guy who leaves his truck open, and “claims,” “guns were stolen,” never verified, by the way… I wonder how many cases of domestic violence occurred at the time that a posse decided to protect an open construction site, which is actually a security issue, on the part of the owner, not the people who entered. The number of times that place was entered and still never secured is not the responsibility of anyone else except the owner of the property, who should have been cited himself for leaving an unsecured residence over a long period of time. If the Arbery family owned English’s property, those Facebook groups would have spoken about how they were violating ordinances for leaving an open construction cite. There was no property crime, there were people talking about property crime, people who had left their property unsecured, and possibly had it taken?? Maybe travis used those guns in illegal activity and falsely claimed they were stolen? The killers have no defense, and they’ve wasted a lot of time, and money, when they should have apologized to the Arbery family, paid restitution, and taken their punishment.
