12 Evil And Murderous Superman Versions From Animated History - Explored

The concept of multiverse had its impact on the DC Universe too. There are some very intriguing storylines with out-of-the-box alternatives. From The Flashpoint paradox to The Injustice the storylines are bone-chilling and enough to make DC fans go crazy. With different storylines, the character twists are brilliant, especially with Superman. Superman is one character in DC who is more like a dangerous weapon rather than a hero. Unlike Batman, Superman has often been molded or mind-controlled by villains bringing catastrophe to the world. He was even mind-controlled by Poison Ivy which is kind of a bad thing for him as he is far beyond her capability to conquer. This is enough to make a point that if Superman can be taken in the team the scales tip drastically. There have been several Universes in DC where Superman had become a catastrophic threat rather than a superhero and the outcomes are incomprehensible, especially in the Injustice story. Needless to say that it takes more than an effort to stop him and that is what makes the stories interesting. It is nearly impossible to defeat him in straight combat and requires a lot of strategies to bring him down and for that, there are characters like Batman who always has a plan. So hold your horses as in today’s video we will be covering 12 stories or parallel Universes where Superman is the main adversary to mankind.

The most interesting part of superheroes is the fact that it can be a simple thing that makes the greatest hero become the greatest villain instead. Like peter parker growing up with an abusive uncle ben vs the one who shapes him as we know it. Heroes are truly molded not born.

Amazing how the writers didn't have Harley Killed off too. What?? Because she's a Woman?? She was Joker's accomplice, and compliant with what Joker was going to do. Which was KILL MILLIONS OF PEOPLE in a Nuclear Explosion. Without a Doubt, Joker should've been 1st to Go, but Harley needed to be the IMMEDIATE follow-up.

It kind of gets a pass since it shows that someone who was once as evil as her could've changed, meaning all villains must die wrong. However, with someone like her who is the annoying mascot for DC comics that is given horrendous plot armor, it comes off as more of her getting rammed down our throats that have otherwise damaged the brand over the past decade.

Hold on, didn't Lex Luthor just pull a woman in front of him, so she'd be killed, instead of him!? How did this guy, in ANY reality, get elected President, again!? In realities where he's ACTUALLY heroic, more often than not, he dies, usually by Superman's hand! And, a bunch of people SAW this, so, it's not something he could deny, at least, not successfully.

I hate Joker. He's an intolerant character. Shooting and assaulting Batgirl, torturing Jason Todd, and killing Lois Lane. He's just nothing to me! I want Batman to just leave him behind to die. Like he said in Batman Begins, "He doesn't have to kill him but he doesn't have to save him."

RIGHT. I wish Batman’s philosophy was “I will not kill”, emphasis on the “I”. Basically, if a villain dies at the hand of another hero, dies at the hands of citizens, or the death is by proxy or is completely indirect, he shouldn’t have a problem

Best alternative Superman for me was gods and monsters Mexican Superman. He was born of zods blood with his mothers and yet still was able to become a hero by the end His morals are also more realistic than tyrant Superman as he knows when to kill and when not to like with baby brianiac and Honestly his design is amazing. Too bad they killed any hope for a sequel. Aside that injustice year 1 and 2 Superman were amazing too.

Gods and Monsters was very much an interesting and entertaining more gray area version of the "dc holy trinity". But I have to ask, do you mean the animated movie like I do? Or was there a comic version?

@@angelusumbrae both. It had tie in comics where we see the backstory of Superman growing up an immigrant and the harsh life of it all and later the movies and mini specials to show thier fights like brainaic and crazy Harley. Basically the whole mythos of gods and monsters.

@ivanbluecool Oh okay. I've only seen the movie, and I knew that its Superman was related to Zod rather than the Els, but not that he was Mexican. It explains more of his features and look, and is very cool. The Langstrom vampire Batman rather than Manbat was dope to me too. But I didn't really get who Wonder Woman was. Like I think her character was a main continuity victim, but I wasn't familiar with the character. Also, the psycho chainsaw wielding and corpse loving Harley Quinn was crazy. G&M was just wild. And not cause "... everyone dies" like Justice League Dark when they attack Apokalips and two thirds of the team is butchered and then most of the rest die later on.

I don't know where you got your information for the reign of superman movie but if memory serves most of that is entirely incorrect. His wife died in the space shuttle when it exploded, hank was saved by darksied who turned him into cyborg superman who was sent with the purpose of destroying superman's good name and constructing an army of superhuman soldiers using devices provided by darksied in order to take over the planet. which he agreed to do because he blames superman for the death of his wife and crew and wants revenge. Unless there's something I'm missing?

I was always a big marvel fan growing because of the X-men series. I got into Batman through the that series but I always kinda hated on Superman because he was always so good. But I like the newer stuff where Batman becomes the guide for Superman.

The Injustice timeline is great... But why Harley is still alive? I read the comics and I know all about Batman shitty moral code. If I were Superman I would have killed Harley too.

I love watching these videos from you guys but I do have some problems with this list. Half of these versions have literally no reason to be on this list. Bizarro (confused, braindead superman clone) and Superior Man were tragic figures who were taken advantage of rather than being inherently evil. Eradicator was protecting Superman and helping him to heal up and Superman from Dark Knight returns held back despite being given the order to assassinate Batman which is why he lost to him. So neither of these two were "evil and murderous." I wouldn't really put Mind-controlled Superman from JL War here considering how short his "evil" duration was and lastly, Trigon Superman, despite being possessed by Trigon, still focused on taking on Darkseid but Superman freed himself from his possession so again, not a lot of "evil" there. These 6 versions were unnecessarily inserted into the video which unnecessarily increased the length. Rather than giving a solid reasoning behind why they were "evil and murderous," their inclusion was used to explain the plot points of their respective stories which only explained their actions and role and that's it. Please try better next time.

Also in Justice League War, Trigon was pretty much just gunning for Dark Seid at that point because of what happened to Raven. Trigon may be evil but he does have his moments of caring for his daughter in some way.

I gotta say... the animated adaptation of Injustice is not that good for me; at some points it is, at some others... not. A part that sort of... irks me is how The Flash's death just feels... forgotten. Like... "oh, right."

And comic/anime/animation-based movies leave that aftertaste; there is too much to actually use or ellaborate on to make a single movie that lasts for an hour or two. While, true, maybe they do not have enough budget, telling an incomplete tale may feel... off for some fans. It was a good animation, yes, and it was a fairly good and decent adaptation, but some points inside the comic could have been used with a little bit of more care, I'd say.
